Castform is a curious type of Pokémon in Pokémon GO, in that it has four different forms you can catch. The form you encounter depends on the weather you're experiencing in the real world at the time you try to catch it.
In this guide, we're going to explain exactly how to catch each of the four different forms of Castform.
How many Castform forms are there in Pokémon GO?
Castform has four different forms in Pokémon GO, and they're each based on a weather type. These four are normal, sunny, rainy, and snowy, and each of them look different visually.
To check which Castform you've caught, find the Pokémon in your Pokédex and select it. You should see the four different types, as well as which one you've caught (if you've caught any of them). Any you haven't caught will appear as a shadow, so use that as a guide.
How do I get each of Castforms forms?
As we mentioned earlier, each of Castform's changes form depending on the type of weather you're experiencing in the real world at the time of catching.
Here's a nice table describing the type of weather you need to have to catch each of Castform's forms.
|Castform Forms||Weather Types|
|Normal||Clear, Cloudy, and Windy|
|Snowy||Snow and Fog|
What's not clear, is whether the time of day affects the weather type as well. For example, you can't have a sunny night, but if it was sunny during the day, you might still be able to catch the sunny Castform form.
If I catch a Castform, will its form continue to change with the weather?
Nope! If you catch a Castform with a sunny form, it will remain a sunny Castform during snow, rain, or normal conditions. Once caught, the type of Castform remains persistent forever.
