Yet More Hyrule Warriors Details Coming This Week

Posted by Alex Olney

Set your alarm clocks to HYPE

In the same manner as last week, Niconico will be streaming a live presentation with more details on the Zelda spin-off Hyrule Warriors this Thursday.

The tweet shown below, from the game’s official account, details the announcement.

Two of Nintendo's Zelda veterans, Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma, will both be attending and speaking about the upcoming title, and with just over two weeks until the official release in Japan it may be worth expecting even juicier details than the ones from last week’s presentation; a loose translation of the information page references a "complete" presentation.

What exactly will be announced is up for debate, more playable characters, more villains, it could all happen. It should be noted that the last reveal revolved around The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so it’s possible that another game will be cherry-picked for its contents.

It's all happening on 31st July at 2pm in Japan, which is 11pm Pacific (30th July) / 1am Eastern / 6am UK and 7am CET. Of course, you can find out what's revealed on Niconico, while we're planning to watch and provide some live coverage here on Nintendo Life.

What would you like to see in this latest reveal?

A lot of people tend to think WW will be well represented. I won't get my hopes up though as they probably won't translate as well going from toon to adult non cell shaded. Unless they have a nice surprise up their sleeves.

I have no more hype left in me for this game. I tried to be excited, but I just don't care about dynasty warriors. Playing DW with a Zelda skin just isn't that exciting for me :/

6am UK time, eh? Sweet, that means I'll be able to see everything when I get up (probably around 9 or 10am...vacation y'know? :p)

I'm almost certain, that we will see at the very least 1 new (and I actually think it'll be an entirely new) character, possibly even Ganondorf as last reveal before the Japanese release (tease in the first "real" trailer at E3 and actual reveal in the last trailer (for Japan) sounds like a really awesome idea actually. May just be me, tho)

I'm not a big DW fan, I would get it though, if it had a solid online co-op. If that's not the case, I'll just skip it.

@alwaysasn same here. The trailers aren't making me interested in the game at all. If anything, they make me want to play Zelda.
DW games aren't fun, and this doesn't look any different. I hope whoever gets it enjoys it, but it takes more than just fan service to make me to buy a game.

The Jogger from OOT is confirmed as playable. XD

Failing OOT, maybe some Majora love? Or maybe that long waited Gannondoft announcement?

@ricklongo gamescom is right around the corner, I guess they're saving some announcements for that (heck..it wouldn't surprise me if we got a few new infos on Zelda U)

Niconico requires an account to watch streams, if I remember right. So be sure to make one ;)

Yes, I agree. Hopefully they'll have some big announcement, like dungeon trials or something that deviates from the hack n slash.

So... It's worth mentioning that from the recent details released we know for a fact that there will be at least one more Skyward Sword character in the game. We also have a lack of males so..... Untitled

I'm going to Grooseland, Grooseland!

Other stuff I'd love to see (characters, enemies, items, attacks,... doesn't matter how):
-Ezlo cap
-Zelda ghost possessed Phantom
-Ricky the Kangaroo
-The Four Sword
-Tingle. Yes, Tingle.
-Happy mask salesman
-... and Skull Kid...
-The Wind Fish, and the final boss of Link's Awakening.
-Marin
-...

Oh, and Nintendo: you better give us (the rest of the world) the option to get the Triforce clocks in treasure chests. If I need to set a clock to HYPE, what better than THAT one? (Even though there'll be some difficulties within time-space-continuum, but Hyrule Warriors is a complete disaster to that anyway).

@ricklongo This game better batter the Japanese sales charts with the amount of content they have been churning out!
Most likely character now are probably Groose, Tetra, a mask wielding Kafei and Medli.
I think I'm more interested in the representation than the game itself.

@ricklongo It would have been nice to have one in partnership with Comic-Con... I really hope they have one in August. The 3ds line-up seems particularly barren in the West.

They haven't been doing many Directs lately, they've revealed alot more things without Directs this year than they did last year or in 2012.

@CrazyOtto I agree they could have release all these details at once in a digital event but maybe it has not been working as well as we think.

All this hype, and I bet this game ends up being like a 7. And will probably actually only be like a 5 or 6, but will get higher praise for simply looking like Zelda. Not into this idea at all. Nintendo's characters are beloved because of their games, if Ninty continues treating them like costumes they can license out... well I don't know how interested I will continue to be.

Yooooo! Why can't they just do an english direct tho.. okay, they'll think HW will mostly get sales in Japan, but I think they're in for a surprise considering how many people in the west seem excited about it too.

Nabooru is next. I'm calling it now.
She's a sage (outside of Saria, Rauru and herself, the others are all in), would probably use two swords, could access the Mirror shield and she's a strong, well known female character.
They could announce Groose at the same time to balance the estrogen.

people think no one care about DW but they are wrong, there are those that are fans, like me, who will be getting HW. some also think its just DW with a zelda skin and that it wont work and they are right (DW with zelda skin) and also wrong (it will work, see sengoku basara), that is what they are going for and also its a spin-off so it wont tie in with the main games. just like pokemon with the main and spin-offs, they dont tie in with each other.

@King47 that is your opinion, just like its my opinion to say CoD is even ore repetitive than DW. actually repetitive games have been a success though some coughCoDcough have been way too repetitive.

I'd love to see more levels - such as dungeons in Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, etc. We got to see a glimpse of the Water Temple from OoT, so it would be epic to see a little more of those.
