AJWolfTill commented on Weirdness: Meet The 'Super Nintendog':

I ended up watching a tv programme about this weird world. I'm not sure it's fair to call this animal cruelty. These people spend a ridiculous amount of time grooming their dogs, so it's not fair to call it neglect. Also dogs aren't self consious so it doesn't know it's a monstrosity. :P
There is no denying that this is insanely wierd though.

This is a really gorgeous design! I wouldn't consider buying it however until the batteries look like they are being held in place by more than just blutack. Also, I really would love to play Jet Force Gemini on the move, it's one of the few games I own which I never completed.

@koelboel Please please don't be Riki!

I don't think this will be exclusively about smash bros but any other announcements will tie into it. For example they could combine information about Yarn Yoshi with his announcement for SB. Similarly Shulk with X, Chrom with SMT Vs FE.

My reasoning for this is that whenever a direct has focused on a particular game in the past it has been labelled as "MINI" whereas this one has not been given that treatment.

I really want to believe that Iwata isn't going to say "We need a little more time before we announce a release date, please understand". If this is the case I at least expect them to announce it will be playable at this years e3.

Surely we are going to be hearing about interconnectivity, game modes and character reveals. I also expect that they will either show the cinematic opening in the direct or e3.

Guys prepare for an eShop demo :P
But seriously, I'm expecting a run down of the game modes, a release date, details of how the online works, interconnectivity between the two versions and of course at least one new reveal.
Unless this is going to be 10 minutes long and not focus on any other games there is no way they won't be unloading the details.

I'll be getting smash bros on Wii U so I might skip the 3ds version.
Due to the sheer amount of 3ds games which I have yet to pickup I hadn't realised the stream of content was slowing down. Out of everything the Atlus RPGs are the most appealing although my enthusiasm will be reliant on how they review.
Speaking of Atlus, I forget that Europe hasn't recieved SMT4 or Etrian Oddyses:MG yet.
What I really would have wanted would have been Zero Escape 3 or some exciting Adventure/VN game like Ghost Trick to emerge.
Still I have no fears that 3ds games will come tumbling out of e3.

Please stop asking for HD remakes of Wii games. I really don't think Skyward Sword or Galaxy benefit significantly from the treatment due to the art style.
I am curious what Xenoblade would look like in proper HD but I doubt you can do anything about the textures so it won't make a huge difference.
On the plus side, any excuse to listen to Phi's lamentation (is it that one?) is great by me!

AJWolfTill commented on The Wonderful 101 Saving Wallets on Wii U eShop:

@Daisaku36 I had a copy of it on my Wii U when I bought it. The boss fights are quite fun but I found the game itself to be frustratingly linear, incredibly corny, and excessively violent. I've only done half a doven levels but I haven't bothered to play it in months. It does have online multiplayer though.

Iwata is better than the shareholders electing a commitee uninterested in the long term benefits of the company.
As much as I like Iwata, he seems quite out of touch. Assides from Sakurai all the prominent Nintendo big wigs are over 50. I can't help but feel they need fresh perspectives.

@GannonBanned @defrb
This game is no more a GTA clone than DK is to mario, Okami is to Zelda or Chrono Trigger is to Final Fantasy. It is the same genre sure, but just because GTA is the biggest name in open world city games doesn't mean something else in that genre is the same. This game is doing so many different things to GTA. GTA never had choice consequence, it never had this amount of NPC detail and this hugely integral hacking system is a completely different way of playing the game. It's fine if this doesn't appeal though.

It's definately an awesome bonus to people who have got the game and judging from people's responses this game is going to see a slight sales boost so well done on Nintendo and Sega for making this happen.
Although I'm not too interested in picking up the game I greatly enjoyed that arrangement of the Link to the Past Dungeon theme.

This is pretty cool! GBA was the only Ninty console I've ever skipped.
The combination of Indie and VC titles have just made April and May look much stronger.
At £6 I'll be buying Golden Sun and Fusion since I've wanted a chance to play those for ages. I'm unlikely to pick up others at the current incentive.

Are the GBA versions of F Zero and Yoshi just Snes ports?

I think Pacman would be a devastatingly dull playable character but It would be amazing if they based a stage around the original arcade game or featured a Pacman based section as either a Single player minigame (break the targets style affair) or as part of the adventure mode.

AJWolfTill commented on Advance Wars Bringing the Battle to the Wii U ...:

Everyone complains when the directs focus on 3ds or a new game gets announced for 3ds saying they need to focus on the Wii U.
Nintendo releases content on the Wii U instead of the 3ds and people still complain. How delightful.
I've only played Dual Strike, which although I liked the gameplay I found the tone of the game incredibly at odds with the fact it was about war. I'd definately get the darker ds version if it was inexpensive on the eshop.
How does the original compare to the later games in the series?

AJWolfTill commented on Nintendo Passing on PAX East 2014:

I hope the phasing out of Nintendo Directs mean they are saving up a huge number of suprises to unleash upon the world at e3. They've said Zelda will be there so people will definately be watching! Would be nice to have one in early April. Even if the predominant focus is on Indie titles.

Picked up Toki Tori 2 as part of that Indie partnership that happened. I really enjoyed it, and was a perfect experience for off-tv play with the television on in the background. Completed it but didn't 100% it, I got bored trying to pick up every single icon in the game.

AJWolfTill commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's Major Wii U Retail T...:

@FullbringIchigo Hardly, if you use it all up, it's clearly something you are invested in and should go buy it. The exception being Etrian Oddysey which had a ridiculous usage of 3.

Demos have persuaded me to buy so many games over the years. Fire Emblem Awakening (partly) Rythm Theif (entirely), Rayman Legends (entirely) Batman Arkham Asylum (largely) Dark Messiah (entirely) as well as Medievil and Abe's Oddworld despite purchasing them a decade after first playing them.
I will confess that the W101 demo might have somewhat dissuaded me from that game although it wasn't until that mini direct that I was interested in it anyway.

I seriously think a Smash Bros or Mario Kart demo would encourage a fair amount of people to pick up the system early which would lead them to picking up at least one extra game in the wait.

AJWolfTill commented on Latest Assassin's Creed Announcement Continues...:

This is really bad news. Until recently we at least had both Warner Bros and Ubisoft supporting the console and bringing some varied retail releases from Western studios to the system. Sure we were missing out on a lot but there was at least an influx of multiplatform titles.
Now with the absence of Arkham Knight and AC:U the Wii U's allies have given up.

On the flip side it really does seem like Watch_Dogs is being delayed because they want to take full advantage of the console's unique features. If they released it alongside the other versions it would not have been given full attention and would be an inferior port. I'm happy to pre-order this as soon as we get a release date!

AJWolfTill commented on Year of Luigi Gets Official Send-Off from Shig...:

With the grumblers on this one, have Nintendo got anything relevant to talk about as well as their quaint self congratulation? The fact that they seem to be skipping another Direct, after an absence of any new Wii U title reveals last month and no direct the month before that. Aside from Indie games we have no significant releases in the first half of the year (-1day) and no release dates for anything beyond that. If we are lucky we might get Watch_Dogs in the summer but there is a very real chance that it might not even be out this year.
Sure we could be getting regular releases in the forms of X, Bayonetta, Smash Bros, Yoshi, Fire EmblemXSMT, but so far those have only been giving yearly estimates, most of which were set over a year ago. There is currently a very real chance that there will be nothing until around October. I really hope X is as close to completion as it looks, and that Nintendo is going to drop some suprises on us because right now the situation looks terrible. : (

We will probably get a 2D3ds Metroid and an HD remake of Prime on Wii U. I just can't help but feel than Nintendo will continue to release hit after hit on the 3ds whilst doing the minimum possible on Wii U.
I really don't want to be right though.
Out of all the (s)Nes games I have played on VC only Super Metroid has come across as timeless and fresh. I haven't played Mother yet though...

@Dark-Link73 There will likely be some shovelwear Indie games but you would have to be a fool to dismiss such a huge part of the industry.

He's not wrong to be honest, as much as I like Iwata I feel he needs to step into a senoir advisor role and bring in someone with fresh opinions. I think the biggest problem is that in the last 10 years the Western gaming scene has really flourished and brought some major advancements in the industry. I'm not convinced Nintendo executives really has a grasp of the Western scene and that is doing some major damage to it's success.

@BossBattles
"Go learn about how the world operates. It's all about money and power."
So hey, if you're going to talk about bribing scientists to fuel an agenda which direction do you think the money is going. I couldn't possibly see how any of the billion dollar fuel companies would have a reason to pay for scientists to produce reports which stop people from taking actions which would severely damage their businesses. In case you had forgotten, your country entered a war due to the oil industry. If you are "following the money" as you say then you going in the wrong direction.
Are you by anychance a climate scientist yourself? I studied a lot of first hand evidence at university and it is painfully obvious that climate change is happening.
"You that support the global warming idea don't dig deep enough to understand that what you do not know does hurt you."
This is so painfully ironic I don't even know where to begin.

At the end of the day there are two types of people in this regard. People who build a case against climate change so that they don't have to feel guilty about the consequences of their actions and people who accept that their actions are destroying the planet but never do anything meaningful about it because they aren't willing to sacrifice their way of life.

On a less aggressive note, did you learn nothing from Pikmin 3? Human's are terrible at accepting 'difficult truths'.
