@TsukiDeity @gcunit You're both right, the portability definitely brings some advantages (makes me think of a mini magnetic chess set I had when I was a kid ha). I would assume most people interested enough in chess to buy this game would already own a set, but I could definitely be wrong there.
I get playing the computer or online multiplayer... but wouldn't local multiplayer be more fun on an actual chess set that doesn't require controllers or batteries?
I like the all in one design, but 200 lumens and a 1000:1 contrast ratio are really poor; It will be dim and washed out unless it's close to the wall in a completely dark room. You'd be much better off buying the best standalone projector you can at (presumably) the same price).
I hope someone at Walmart understands how many people have been collectively pissed off and disappointed by this. Somehow I'm not surprised though, I'm not sure anyone expects better of them.
Awww... nuts. I haven't received a cancellation yet, so here's hoping a certain number of them will be honored. I'll have to keep my eye out for other opportunities in case. Man, and it was such a relief to get a pre-order in! Thanks a lot, Wally World.
I really wanted to be all in on this game, but after participating in a few of the Testpunches I'm not sure it's for me. The first one went well for me (mostly because nobody knew what they were doing yet), and I won maybe 6 out of 7 matches I played. And while it was pretty novel and cool, there was honestly nothing driving me to play out the rest of the session so I just stopped. The second time I lost all 4 or so matches that I played (players had caught on quickly) and while I have no doubt I would improve with practice I am an admittedly sore loser so that sucked. In summary, losing sucked, and winning was just OK. Not my cup of tea I guess, same has been the case for me with SSB, which objectively is an incredible series! Just not for everyone.
Polls like this are always interesting... Personally I think the results are more driven by nostalgia/first experiences than objective assessments. For example, Link's Awakening will always be at the top of my list because it was my first (and most definitive) experience with the franchise. Whereas since I didn't own a GameCube, playing Wind Waker HD wasn't a magical experience for me (though I enjoyed it). Part of that might be that I prefer walking/riding Epona to sailing
I suppose a good compromise for Nintendo would be to give the player a choice to play regionally or worldwide (like MK8). That way when the people who are complaining join regional servers and continue to lose, only one conclusion remains to be drawn (yeah I said it)
"My two-year-old son excitedly refers to MK8 as "Woohoo-Yeehaw" which he picked up from Mario. Do you have a favorite catchphrase of Mario's, or have you been responsible for coming up with any of them yourself?"
@kobashi100 If you're going to be buying it eventually, why not buy it right away and spend more time enjoying it (and sharpening your skills) even if there's only a few maps starting out? Just my two cents.
I'm a little surprise I haven't heard mention of any Soul Caliber characters; definitely one of the better fighters in Nintendo history. Kilik in SSB would be amazing!

I hope third party developers around the world who didn't fully support the switch in its first year are facepalming in unison

Re: Splatoon 2 is Getting a Special Range of Summer Outfits Starting This Weekend
@Kalmaro Agreed. It's so hard to feel good about giant boots with spandex shorts. Glad they at least added a less skin-tight shorts option

Escape Velocity anyone? If this even remotely resembles that classic I am sold.

Finally an alternate .96 gal load out! I've been loving the .96 gal for tower control but the sprinkler and echolocator are so... pffft.
