@Anti-Matter I agree game key cards is the first thing I think when I see a switch 2 announcement which is sad. The more & more they push a Digital future the more & more ill just stick with my physical backlog & just enjoy those. Im glad nintendo first parties are physical for now.

It gives off ratchet & clank with the rail grinding and kingdom hearts with the key blade stuff.

Maybe I'm old school or maybe I just like owning my games but gamekey cards have hurt my way of playing. I understand bigger games need a game key cart but if your game can fit on the cartridge for example (bravely default, pokopia, tales of arise and many other games) then they shouldnt have used game key cards...I rather pay the supposed extra $16 usd or $20 usd dollars than a game key card. But for switch 1 I have over 300+ physical games and I got the switch 2 for my father's day gift last year and mainly use my switch 2 to play switch 1 games which is sad to me.

Since sony horizon got a lego game can nintendo get a mario and zelda lego game?

Im upset they cut stuff out/change the cutscenes. Like if its a remaster then the cutscenes should still be the same just upscaled. But its nice it comes to nintendo finally but at a cost.

I would have bought it if it was fully physical but since its a game key card its a pass for me.

Ive never played a game from this series but even this game has me interested.

They should also sale this on the the modretro CHROMATIC like a physical gbc cartridge too. They will cover more ground that way too.

Im waiting to see what switch 1 games does this patch fixes? Maybe nier automata, pokemon bdsp, southpark fractured but whole or any other game still needed a patch or update to fix it on switch 2

@Olmectron with physical it can work on any system offline but digital is tied to any account and if the serves go off and decided to get rid of digital purchases you have nothing to past down to your kids etc but physical is nice to grab off the shelves and pop it in the console. You can resale it etc but if the servers goes offline you just have a code in a plastic cartridge you cant resell or play ever again.

@Olmectron but you cant buy them if you wanted to. And they did state for you can re-download them for now so it isn't gonna be forever eventually they will stop you from downloading

@TCKuma some people like myself like physical media....look at the wii, wii u, ds, 3ds eshop are all currently offline. And look at super mario 3d all-star also isn't available no more. So physical media is important to help preserve gaming history and to have ownership of games you buy especially at $70 and up for a game.

Hopefully it fixes more switch 1 games like tales of symphonia and nier automata and south park fractured but whole and other games that dont work on switch 2

It also hurts some third party companies are still waiting for development kits for the switch 2 so it makes it very difficult to fix games with patches if they cant work on the switch 2

@Kuruwin I mean like you said its better than nothing....ill rather buy a switch 1 game physically and pay for the switch 2 upgrades like I did for zelda breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom. I will eventually pay for the kirby forgotten land switch 2 upgrade too. I think square Enix is being crazy with not letting us upgrade switch 1 versions to switch 2 they rather us buy those game key cards for switch 2...my thing is if the game can fit on a cartridge then let us buy it physically

I think to solve game key cards are to make the game on switch 1 physically and give it a switch 2 upgrade patch 🤔 its a win win for everyone?

@Automated_Unit_4937 but every game needs a game key card look at bravely default remastered or some of these jrpg games that can run on switch 1...not every game needs a game key card and most companies will use it to save on money supposedly

I think the sales are not doing well on switch 2 because of the game key cards imo.

If companies want to put the whole game on a switch 2 cartridge then maybe use video games plus or limited run games if they dont think enough people are not interested in fully physical games and watch how many people will buy it physical

@AG_Awesome it works if you transfer your save from switch 1 but if it's a fresh start it doesn't work and there is a few progression bugs on switch 2

Still no southpark fractured but whole switch 1 fixes yet and can't buy it on switch 2...I have it physical and still not working

@stuie1234 when the servers go down and while im playing the game vs a person that has a Digital game or game key card and they cant play it. I believe games should be made to last and preserved vs controlled by greed. Games are meant to be fun.

Its sad switch 2 is a gamekey card so ill either get it on switch 1 or just play it on my gamecube

@ShadowRJ I agree why waste time and resources to send out a survey to gauge interest for "physical vs digital". Hopefully nintendo listens and figure out a plan to help 3rd parties put the whole game on the cartridge.

@Remerkin then why not add the allegedly $16 cost to the consumer to buy physical with the whole game on the cartridge vs this game key mess. Its an excuse to force people to move to digital. I think once games go all digital there will be games that will disappear and they will take games away from you etc.

Im either gonna buy switch 1 or not at all. the switch 2 should be able to hold the whole game if cyberpunk can do it then they should be able to too. My switch 2 library about to be very slim if they keep up with these game key cards.
