Bringing the 64DD to the online service would be awesome and doesn’t feel all that impossible anymore since they launched games for the Virtual Boy. I could see issues however with Sim City due to licensing, and tbh it was one of the few great games for the system.

@Metazoxan never saw it this way but its true. I started with Nintendo only and I will end with Nintendo only.

@FortniteJ yes that true. Physical sales are still very big over here in Japan.

@FortniteJ i just hope that Nintendo stays physical. Specially here in Japan sales still lean to physical copies. Hope is all I have at this point.

@ParsnipHero Didn’t even think about the amiibos hut do you think they dare to stop physical cards while continuing amiibos? Hard to imagine but who knows.

I didn’t expect this to happen so soon. So this will be the last PlayStation generation for me and I will remain with Nintendo only. Decided that a long time ago though. I am nearing 50 years old and this just isn’t for me. At some point Nintendo might go the same way but I think it will still take some time. From then, my backlog will carry me till my last breath. However this is just my personal stand, by no means do I say that people should do the same and for everyone who is ok with all digital, good for them. Guess i gotta collect a little harder now before prices for remaining copies of popular games will even go up more.

In some way I am even happy it happened now as today’s Sony don’t care about their customers, so it was inevitable. You know when you wait for something bad to happen but when it finally happens, even you are sad, you can also feel relieved. Its over for me with PlayStation.

That being all said, wtf does Square Enix only does GKC for all their Switch 2 games?

I loved this one on PlayStation when I was a kid. Finally a way to play it on modern hardware.

Really hope it works out for them. Even double dipping on this one in the family due to reasons. Also, its no GKC and a great chance to extend my Nintendo library while I can.

As long as they dont release GKC stuff I am on board. While i understand that perhaps the cost for the FF7 remake would have gotten out of hand with 2 cartridges needed for the amount of data, it was totally unnecessary for everything else, specially the latest Dragon Quest titles.

@Discostew True but i got Mario Kart World on cart as well, even I had to double dip. If its GKC I just dont buy it and if in the future its a game i truly must have, then i just download it instead of putting it into my physical collection as its just a piece of plastic with nothing in it but I agree, this topic is definitely easier on people with a PC and perhaps for younger people as well. Being in my mid 40s and having always collected physical games since my childhood, GKC are just a no go for me but i also don’t judge anyone for feeling different about this.

Hopefully no GKC, otherwise i stick to my switch 1 version.

If those weren’t GKC, I would buy both games in a heartbeat for the Switch 2 but like this, i stick to the PS5 versions i already have. Really wish some day they rerelease it on proper cartridge but i doubt it.

A remaster or even simple release of the original Nights including the Christmas version would be awesome. The PS3 did have a release back in the day.

In a world without Gamekey cards, I would get all my third party games were possible on switch 2 instead of PS5 as I am annoyed with PlayStation for a while already and also much rather have game cartridges in my collection than discs. So may missed opportunities like Pragmata, Resident Evil 9 or Final Fantasy 7 remake to only name a few ☹️

Who would have thought that for Switch 2, releasing the full game on cartridge could be marketing in itself. I already purchased three games I would usually have not bought, just to support full games on switch 2 cartridges. All three I like and have fun with but probably otherwise would have not bought, at least not straight away.

Funny but the PS5 version of Indy was just a kind of key card on disc which is why I never got it. Guess I will get it on Switch 2 then finally. As for the other releases, I think all is said here. Who doesn’t care about Physical media, no problem but for me and those who do, no thank you. I think the Fallout box would have looked real nice in my shelf.

Considering Nintendo releasing Virtual Boy games, even so far unreleased ones on NSO, makes me honestly hope that some day we se all 10 64DD games released on the service in English. However, same as with Sim City on the Super Nintendo, releasing Sim City 64 might be an issue since EA holds the property.

@dskatter i am mostly playing N64 at the moment and 64DD since I got one. Have the best memories for this console alongside PS1.

@dskatter same here, getting it on PS5 but the lack of effort I see with many companies nowadays that GKC’s exist makes me sad. For those who are ok with GKC no problem but for me, being close to 50, I can not shake off the old days where all the game was on the disc or cartridge. These days I find myself buying more games for my Super Nintendo or N64 than the new consoles and that says a lot. Maybe I am from a dying generation 😂

@dskatter Yes agreed. Really don’t wanna hate here and who is ok with GKC releases should buy them hut releasing a game physical as GKC that technically could fit on a cartridge while offering that SD card is beyond what I was expecting to see tbh.
