@MrWalkieTalkie Yeah that about sums it up. lol. That's really the only thing that bugs me here. It does seem like EA is systematically trying to undermine Nintendo but what do I know? These are all companies that provide jobs and I really don't think some CEO making underhanded remarks or not liking the way Nintendo doesn't do everything we want should make us want thousands of people becoming unemployed.
Thank you for the subtitles. My zombie's a little rusty. Ever since Activision killed Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero, I've stayed away from all things Activision and I've never regretted it lol. @rjejr Indeed!
@aaronsullivan I agree that Miyamoto's philosophy on gaming is my favorite as the game being fun is what's most important. I have no problem with long cutscenes if they're interesting or fun to watch.
What bugs me with the new Zeldas is that your companion tells you everything you're supposed to do and often reiterates what just happened in a cutscene as if you weren't there lol.
Ocarina to me has a great balance of story vs. gameplay.
Oh, and I can't even count how many times I've saved Hyrule.
That's a nice thing they're trying to do with the story. I can't stand when games have a "Good" ending where everything is perfect and beautiful and an "Evil" ending where the character just becomes a jerk that destroys everyone and laughs maniacally. Hope they can pull it off. Definitely on my Watch_List.
It still irks me that a fighting game has no unlockable characters and you have to pay for more characters. Does anyone know if it actually adds anything to the game or is it just a new fighter and a couple unlockables?
This leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, EA has some great developers under its belt. Here's hoping for a Battlefront developed by DICE. On the other, EA keeps shafting Nintendo so the thought of these coming to Wii U is iffy.
@MeowGravy haha funny enough I kinda didn't want to read them so I could enjoy it for myself when the game came out. Then I realized that's pretty stupid lol. "Nintendo loves a good pun" That must be why NintendoLife is so full of puns.
...I want to go to there... Wow seriously. That tie is amazing. Even the bag is pretty cool. You know, you Europeans always complain about delays and stuff but your pre-order rewards are almost always way better than America's. lol
"At the time of writing, it looks unlikely that Capcom will be reeling out a new Mega Man game to celebrate the series' 25th Anniversary..." Sorry if I'm being ignorant but how is that the case? It's barely May. There's plenty of time for a game to come out. Also I don't understand why people get so upset demanding a Mega Man game for the 25th Anniversary. If they give us an awesome game: cool, if they give us collectibles and stuff: cool. Nintendo did nothing for Metroid 25th and nobody made a big fuss over it.
@Moshugan Honestly I think Super Mario 64 looks great. It's my favorite Mario so it's just my opinion but I really wouldn't want it to look different. I think many 64 games stand the test of time unlike PsOne games that are just all pixels lol.
@AcesHigh <raises hand> I did that too haha. I also kept trying to flutter with Yoshi and I would hit ZR to try to spin in the air to make my jumps farther, which would bring up the VC Menu so I finally assigned the spin jump to ZR as well lol
I think NSMB (while still very fun) didn't capture the formula because SMW didn't have a set formula. This play through I really noticed how they really didn't follow any rules in it and there were plenty of levels that probably would be called too "experimental" for NSMB.
It kinda seems like publishers are going to call the Wii U whatever they need it to be in order to not bring games to it, even if it means saying it's next gen. Lol. Especially since they announced PS4.
Given how much of an issue people made about the 3ds not having a second analogue pad, I find it hard to believe that people would switch to phones and tablets unless they have a full controller built into them.
Honestly, whatever it is, I'm excited for it. They seem to have a great way of combining nostalgia with new ideas so the games feel familiar and fresh at the same time. I just hope it releases soon. That would be a nice surprise boost for the Wii U
I notice how a lot of people and even "journalists" on other sites tend to take Nintendo's statements and blow them out of proportion (Like saying Nintendo won't be at E3). All he's saying here is that cloud technology is not fast or reliable enough to stream games. Watch this come to other sites as Nintendo hates the cloud lol
@ThomasBW84 I actually find the touch screen areas mix it up a bit and add almost a puzzle element to the game when trying to get the AI to walk in the right direction to get all the collectibles. But I agree that in challenge mode you're never gonna rank high with an AI walking slowly around and missing jumps. lol
I don't really think the cost is too high. It's true that certain games like Ice Climbers and Donkey Kong Jr. feel high but if they priced those down based on appeal they would end up pricing others with massive appeal higher. Games like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, Link to the Past and soon Earthbound for $7.99 is insanely cheap. Those games are impossible to find under $20.00 and that'd be a great price.
Also we're talking about games that cost less than lunch.
@TheRealThanos I wasn't thrashing any consoles I was just saying for me personally it's disappointing when there are still a lot of classic Nintendo games that have yet to be released on the VC. As I said I realize other people want the other consoles and obviously they wouldn't release those games if people didn't buy em.
@FyreeTSG Agreed. I know a lot of people want other systems but for me it's always disappointing when I go to look what games are released and some obscure NeoGeo game or something lol.
I don't understand what the big deal is? It's not like they're not gonna be at e3 with smash bros and a new Mario. They're just not doing a big conference which is pretty smart considering nothing is ever a surprise anymore. Last year the only surprise from any of the conferences was watch dogs. I think it's a smart move. With the Internet people want news much more often and Nintendo's doing that.
They said from the get go it was only gonna start with nes and snes, with gba and n64 coming later. Yeah it'd be nice to get more but I don't think people get that they're actually working on these games to make them run as closely to the original as possible, unlike any other emulator where you have to optimize it yourself. Plus if they were putting all their resources into the vc then new Wii U games would take even longer to come out. If this is the worse thing in your life, then you've got a pretty good life lol.
@SunnyShores Yeah I am very excited for the update. I thought it was funny how people have been complaining about how slow the Wii U is and then when Nintendo shows the update that dramatically improves the speed the reaction was "meh, that's it?" lol @Yosher Trust me, I've spent hundreds of dollars on the Wii VC so I understand that point but I'm not going to transfer every game over to the Wii U and I'm not going to do it all at once. If I spend $50 over the lifespan of the Wii U to bring over 40 or 50 of my favorite VC titles it's really not that big of a deal to me. Sure I'd love it to be free but given the fact it's not just a simple transfer but a legitimate upgrade in functionality... there are enough other things for me to stress about in life lol.
@Yosher said: "The only thing added to the VC titles this time around is the addition of save states (or rather -a- save state), and off-TV play." You make it sound as though that's something that is incredibly simple to do and should be free. I imagine most of us don't know the whole process of programing games to work on the Wii U but honestly, complaining because you are given the choice to pay $1 if you would like to use these features seems like it's just impossible to please people anymore. Also, in regard to Sony, I agree the cross play is nice but from what I understand, everything you have on the PS3 will not be transferable to the PS4. Even PSN purchases.
@BossBattles
Thank you. At least some people still realize that this is just a hobby and should be fun. People just seem to want to talk about what they want and are never happy with what they have. Even when they get what they want all they can talk about is how it could have been better and what else they want. It's barely five months old people!
Personally, I've been enjoying my Wii U a lot and there are still games I have yet to play.
Reggie was dead on when he said gamers are never satisfied. lol.
I'm pretty sure this was partially a publicity stunt to show how useful Miiverse is. Telling fans that Nintendo is listening if you post it on Miiverse. And it's a good way to do it I think. Anyway, who cares why it took so long. It'll be here this year and that's great! This generation really needs to stop acting so entitled to everything. That's what's ruining the industry.
@Haywired Personally I welcome multiple difficulties. I wish more Nintendo games would do that. That way they can make games accessible to casuals and still make it challenging to people who have been gaming for a long time. Imagine a Zelda game that had a classic mode where your companion actually didn't tell you what to do lol
@Dpishere Did you 100% it or 200% it? I'm torn on whether to get this. I loved the Wii version and I want to get it because I imagine it would be much nicer to play with buttons instead of motion but I don't know if it's $40 nicer lol.
