I had some nostalgia for this one. Poor performance problems and long loading times is enough for me to keep the nostalgia whole and not muddy it with a bad remaster.

I'm a huge doom fan and consider myself exactly the target market. The problem is I wanted this in March, including this pre-order that I heard about back then. Since March, I bought doom 64 and have watched the price of Eternal be reduced on all other platforms. Now you want me to pay full price for a late game with reduced graphics and a pre-order bonus I already paid for? Tough sell. I think I'll just wait it out or get it elsewhere for far less.

Everyone at my house still plays this. During quarantine and after due to being home more and more we played this because it allowed us to extend our reach more. Since they removed those perks we've all played far less.

Meh. I stopped playing this and couldn't get my kids to show the least bit of interest which is more-so their age demographic.

Purchasing a one-off streaming only game is on par with buying some rare car from across the world. You'll never have any support for it and when it stops working you'll be on your own entirely. At least with a streaming service from one of the big players you're guaranteed to have them backing the service. I hope other people answer this trend with keeping their wallets closed.

My kids have been trying this out, 7 and 5 years old. Over 2x 5 sessions, one kid has caught 1 pokemon. They want to like it but its discouraging.

I love THUG 2 and these games were before the revert mechanic perfected the formula AND not on Switch... it's going to be a pass for me.

@SpiderSquid Don't get me wrong, I have the NES controllers, but an official joycon with NES color, buttons and D-pad is what I'd be after. A pair that works in portable mode for retro games but plays deep in to that nostalgia =)

Great idea and I would love to see NES and SNES variants. I don't think I would buy these unless the charging was done with USB-C or preferably charged like a standard joycon.

These ratings are insane. 8/10 but a negative is the main plot isn't engaging?

Just checked the eShop and it looks like they have changed the screenshots to the switch versions. So glad I cancelled the preorder on this one.

Just cancelled my pre-order. Shame as it's the only platform I would have played it on. If they ever improve things I'll reconsider down the road at a reduced used price point. No way am I supporting this at launch at full price.

If you look at the source code for it, there's a javascript file called swearwords.js which I assume is used as a filter for input. Some good ones in there.

They started by saying that their business has grown to offer a number of different products now but they still want to do this as a kickstarter? Sorry, spend that revenue more wisely or simply don't overstep your bounds too soon.

I'm 100% the target audience for their service. I bought the NES controllers, love the NES games nostalgia but I can easily recognize that I'm paying for nearly nothing. On those one-off times I do play online, I would like to be able to send a message to a friend to play, voice chat with them. Where are the upgrades to the phone app? The shock and awe of the switch is wearing thin after 2 years. It's still a great system but they need to keep the pace up.

I’m a physical copy collector and this date is marked in my calendar.

I'm usually a physical only collector so I'll hold out until it comes that way. Being a sort of high profile indie I would have expected it, but based on the reviews I've seen on other platforms I'm also comfortable holding out until a physical comes out, and if not, oh well.

Day 1 buy easily. Played it on Xbox but come on, it's DOOM. 😵

This absolutely has to happen. I don't see the point in turning them off, if you don't care about them that's fine, you do you. Achievements add another level of gameplay. I love collecting them on Xbox and have since day 1 on 360. Retroactive ones would be nice, but I won't count on it. Bonus points for being able to collect achievements for the planned NES games.

@Spoony_Tech might be awkward to hold but would work if you just put the thing down and use unattached controller

Would be great if you could turn the switch sideways to have a long view of the table.

New Switch game? 10/10!

This is going to be a pass for me. Story looks predictable, graphics looks dated and the price is way too high for that kind of quality.
