Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Mario Superstar Baseball (GameCube)

orbots

Never had this one

And never played it, would feel like a downgrade compared to
Mario Super Sluggers which i still have and really love
The motion controls the story mode in which you explore the world recruiting new characters and doing side quests and the big playable roster including odd fan favorites like king k rool are what i truly enjoy about the wii sequel

Anyways usa/eur cover all the way for this one

The angle of mario jumping when pitching at bowser is really cool, is like if he was going to violently throw the ball at his FACE you can feel the action , the colorful background the staidum and peach's castle in the back make things more dynamic

The expressions of wario , yoshi, luigi and donkey kong too

The japanese cover is extremely boring maybe because of the white background and cause only mario is shown in the spotlight
It is not cohesive unlike the other

Re: Nintendo Direct June 2026: Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer

orbots

The Ocarina of time remake and Xenoblade chronicles genesis seem interesting but i wish they showed up more of them
Splatoon raiders seems like expanded salmon run, if it is a solo experience i hope they make it more manageable than playing salmon run solo
Cause Facing hordes of samonids by myself in splatoon 2 (cause there isn't anyone playing salmon run on splatoon 2 nowdays )is a nightmare

I Don't have a switch 2 yet this might make me consider getting one
Is cool to see that they are adding major 3rd party games to switch 2 too

Seems they are also reviving dead 1st
party franchises like rhythm heaven, and sports resort

Im surprised that they announced a ninjala 2 i saw the trailer but i don't know if it will be another f2p game or will be a paid full game ,will that game be open world? or a battle royale esque thing?

ninjala was a nintendo switch exclusive f2p game that was ruined by pay to win when the lab bonuses were introduced

Was one of few f2p games i played when i didn't had switch online subscription cause was one of the few f2p games that didn't cause lag, weren't heavy on file size and didn't had pay to win (until of course they added it)

It has an ongoing anime that i dropped whose +200 episodes cannot be found anywhere since the fanbase of it is almost nonexistent

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Yoshi's Universal Gravitation (GBA)

orbots

More like yoshi's acid trip That game is really weird

Ongo is extremely dislikeable

The clown seems like it's gonna be the surprise villain but it isn't

And the tile is even more weird yoshi's universal gravitation, what the heck this is supposed to be , some game about a class of physics that explains the math behind newton's universal gravitation law

Fg= gravity constant × (mass of the yoshi x mass of the bowser) / distance of how far are them from each other

I vote japan despite europe has the best artwork and best looking cover the japanese one explains better what the game is about you see him Rollin' they hatin'

Re: Poll: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Characters Compared, Film Vs. Game Designs - Which Are Best?

orbots

@antlion i think the galaxy movie was good BUT would have worked better as a series
. Especially since the ending was kinda rushed and there were a lot of things unresolved mainly mario and peach's subplots , it would have allowed more time to develop on rosalina's backstory including the full story of the book instead of cutting some important parts of it

It would have also allowed more time to focus on some scenes like the Honeyhive kingdom scene that was kinda rushed or add more interactions between characters (like toad and yoshi for example cause toad still despised yoshi and that wasn't resolved)

Re: Poll: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Characters Compared, Film Vs. Game Designs - Which Are Best?

orbots

@HalBailman The movie designs of the characters were great wart and mouser had never been seen before in 3d (aside from the wart cameo in link's awakening) megaleg was more detailed making it seem more machine-like

Some movie characters only appear briefly so it wouldn't have made much sense to invest a lot of time on them

Fox is cool, if you consider that in every single starfox game he gets redesigned in a different way ,then the movie redesgin is not much of a trouble besides he is really cool in the movie however what bothers me is that his personality is more like the one of falco than the one of game fox

Bowser Jr's wonder is better than the base form in the movie it looks really badass even more than how it did in wonder

R.o.b's pupils make it more expressive is thematically fitting despite looking weird

Yoshi was probably one of the few that was really odd looking for me i think it's the mouth or the eyes

The monty mole's down teeth look cursed but i think that wasn't shown in the movie the monty moles only appear in the space port scenes

Spike is the only one that doesn't look good at all i hate that design besides i Don't even remember seeing him in the movie might be a cameo i missed

Re: First Impressions: The Diary Of A First-Time 'Tomodachi Life' Player - Am I Living The Dream?

orbots

@UpsideDownRowlet that made me remember the extremely bizarre and obscure gamecube game made by nintendo in which you are a godly naked giant (you can even see his D1##) that looks like the roblox noob (it was years before roblox was even released nintendo could have sued them if they wanted) in which you can help a village grow or torture the villagers and even kill them or sacrifice them to become some sort of red demon

It was called doshin the giant seems like a fever dream and it really doesn't seem like something nintedo would make at all

Re: First Impressions: The Diary Of A First-Time 'Tomodachi Life' Player - Am I Living The Dream?

orbots

@Anti-Matter i love animal crossing the problem is finding the furniture you need to make your creations

But animal crossing nh has the best clothing customization ever as you can literally make your own clothes and if you don't have the patience or precision to make them you can just get them online that's from where i got my link's clothes years before the official ones came

Re: Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Joins A Trio Of THQ Nordic Titles Getting The Switch 2 Treatment

orbots

@DiceRobo the main problem is the first part, if the store closes the digital games will become completely unobtainable for those that never got them

They will never be able to experience those games

Look at all the wiiware dsiware , wiiu + 3DS digital games that were left behind

A person that missed a legacy generation can atempt to buy a secondhand Physical game like the old dusty NES and SNES games ( i wasn't even alive on that era) but to get a digital game on a console in which the store is no longer available, they will have to resort to hacking it

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Mario Hoops 3 On 3

orbots

the name mario slam basketball SOUNDS better and that's the version i had as a kid however the NA cover LOOKS way better i vote NA you can see the court, you can see the sky, you can see donkey kong trying to block that dunk-ey kong, Luigi throwing a red shell, peach throwing a bomb, the coins flying and the basketball net

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th March (North America)

orbots

I don't really know what kind of weird crossover game is that . It has TF2 heavy? Everyone knows him cause is a big meme but only us kids from the early 2000s will remember strongbad

Pokopia seems cool but i don't have a switch 2 i will stick to my old animal crossing

Re: Review: SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 (Wii)

Re: Nintendo Seemingly Rules Out Virtual Console Revival, Says It Remains Focused On Offering Classics Via Switch Online

orbots

@Kyloctopus exactly

If these were game part of the switch online service they wouldn't allow transfers to pokemon home (look on how they broke the main element of pokemon stadium 64 by doing that)

And If these standalone games had save states everyone could create a save state before catching a shiny legendary then transfer the legendary, load the save state and catch another one

That's why the 3ds virtual console pokemon games didn't had that function

Re: This Mario Tennis Fever Ad Is Giving Us Big Nintendo Wii Vibes

orbots

I LOVED mario power tennis on the wii
At that time the motions control were something Groundbreaking
It was really exciting to be able to really feel that you were playing those sports

How time flies... i was just a kid at that era

Speaking of the wii i don't know WHY they never released a mario golf for the wii

Seeriously? Not even a new play control remaster of Toadstool Tour? Why?

Oddly enough camelot did make a golf game for wii but was not mario related was called
"We Love Golf!" And some of the characters vaguely resemble those forgotten human characters of the older mario golf spinoffs

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

orbots

@rjejr
The LOCAL mode of disney speedstorm is awesome,

All characters are balanced to the same level and you can chose between all the tracks
But is kinda annoying that it only allows two players and not 4 on switch
Excellent for play sessions with friends

It used to be even better as all the characters were unlocked from the start for local multiplayer (however they changed that in the season of the little mermaid so you could only use unlocked characters cause they were losing money cause people only downloaded the game to play local with everything unlocked from the start)
The regulated mode is good too

HOWEVER disney speedstorm is EXTREMELY pay to win in the rest of the modes is one of the most pay to win F2P games I've ever seen
Getting the drivers and crews to the max level is IMPOSSIBLE without paying

so I just focus on unlocking the character to the minimum possible level in the limited events to use offline and that's it

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March

orbots

@ChaoticIgnorance i always loved chaotic multiplayer

When i was in high school we used to play mario bros u together 4 players and a 5th player on the boost mode where you place blocks and plataforms using the wii u touch screen to help others
But instead of helping he placed those platforms as obstacles and barricades and redirected the enemies against the other playes to sabotage us
Was funny cause we viewed that as him playing as bowser and enjoyed the challenge of overcoming that

We also loved to play nintendo land and smash bros 4 together

Re: Opinion: I'm Happy amiibo Survived The Console Jump, But These Unlocks Are Getting Silly

orbots

@automatom there must be a balance

They shouldn't lock a game changing feature behind amiibo like on skyward sword
But they shouldn't make the amiibos entirely useless like on mario galaxy or metroid

Look at tears of the kingdom one of the best examples of how amiibos should work
The amiibo allow you to unlock cosmetics earlier that you can only get on late game (but that you can still get without them)

Or mario maker 1 another good example cause the amiibo get you the extra character swap costunes instantly when otherwise the only way to get some of those was beating random nearly impossible kaizo levels that involved timed levels, precise jumps, booby traps , falling enemy spam, and insane parkour ,ducking shell throwing, spinning shenanigans

I have nightmares of those levels i was never able to fully finish a super expert run

Re: Opinion: I'm Happy amiibo Survived The Console Jump, But These Unlocks Are Getting Silly

orbots

An 1 up mushroom is extremely easy to get in mario galaxy 1 (haven't played the switch remaster but in the wii it was) there is one below the kitchen zone of the comet obsevatory , if you enter the library (cause is the closest room) and then go out that one up mushroom 🍄 will respawn , and you can do that indefinitely i remember that when i discovered that as a kid i felt like i had found the most awesome thing ever

To be honest i thought the amiibo would give you never seen before additional pages of the storybook of rosalina or make rosalina playable in certain levels like in mario 3d world

Re: Video: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight 'Official Heroes & Villains Trailer'

orbots

@Mikeg1965 @AussieMcBucket there are original lego properties that have gotten their own tv series ninjago being the most popular one

Which got 4 games the first one being a DS RTS game which was completely different to every previous lego game the other 2 games were handled games (3ds) and the third one was a nintendo switch game (which i haven't played) that was based on the ninjago movie instead of on the series i don't know if that one was good but i assume not cause people don't talk about it

The lego handheld games don't tend to be as popular as the console games cause don't have the same quality due the hardware limitations

Lego chima was another original lego property the toy figures were weird cause
they had regular with an animal head helmet over them instead of being fully sculped
i don't really know why wasn't that popular considering the furry fandom out there that tends to jump to whatever franchise that has any type Of anthropomorphic animal,
that franchise only got a handled (3ds) exclusive game

Lego nexo knights was another original property that got a tv series and toys

I don't really know why there was never a proper lego nexo knights game only a mobile f2p thing
A game with an open world, like lego marvel and lego lord of the rings where you collect nexo powers would have been really cool

Lego dreams is a recent an original series that would have been perfect for a game with a good story and a lot of freedom where a kid with a green slimething fight nightmare demons in the dream world in never finished that series

There's also lego monkey kid something that is not 100% original since is an based on the public domain tale of the monkey King i haven't seen that one series but is 2d style instead of the usual 3d heavily inspired by asian anime

Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV

orbots

Interesting concept

I was a small kid in the very early 2000s era, in the early 90s i wasn't even born yet, im from the era of the gamecube (never had consoles from the eras below)

I remember the old medium square tvs and annoying distorting screens that you had to squeeze your eyes or get close to the tv to see things better and that's the reason im nearly blind and i need glasses today

I think this thing should be cheaper for something that is not actually a game

Or include some of those old games but that's more a thing of the satellite tv era and not the FTA tvs era

I remember that in satellite television era i loved playing satellite streamed games using the tv remote , including a something i recall calling "Johnny Megatron" i think it was not actually named that way kids usually misname things and associate it with similar named things (in this case megatron from the old transformers series) and also a game of a rabbit that had ladders kinda like donkey kong and had to avoid some foxes crabs or something

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Inazuma Eleven

orbots

Ah i really loved this anime
And of the games I preferred the wii inazuma eleven strikers and the new victory road (i played the beta)

I vote Europe
While the pose of axel/goenji with the fire kick that showcases his fire power is cooler
i prefer the green ⚽️ pitch background with the goal on the end and the images showcasing some of the players

ooof i was looking for underrated wii hidden gems to get, this one is definitely not one of them , i never play anything lower than 5 stars

Re: Random: This Upcoming PS5 'Cozy Life Sim' Certainly Rings A Bell

orbots

@Anachronism If you want a good animal crossing copy then play magicians quest mysterious times, is a ripoff but a good one that even vastly surpasses the animal crossing of that era (wild world)

And very SURPRISINGLY released on a nintendo console (ds)

This game is even more identical to animal crossing has everything that animal crossing has Clothes shop fishes hair salon, clothes shop, flower shop, furnitures, creatures that repeat catch phrases ,a post office , town tune , floors,

But somehow it has more quality of life changes and that were introduced even before the animal crossing of that era had them (pro patterns, unnatural hair colors like green blue and purple)
Heck even some of those aren't still on the newer games like being able to storage up to 100 of every single individual item, or being able to customize pants, or making a villager follow you (when you chose to)

Has an actual plot ,magic classes where you can learn spells, vehicles for transportation, more species aren't just animals, like flower folk , demons, zombies, cake folk, (they are randomized like on animal crossing), more personalities (making each villager feel more unique) you are actually able to play music, and weirdly also romance one of your villages using the love potion

Also one thing that i like about this game is that you can transform your wand with spells into

The fishing rod ,the bug net, the watering can and the shovel Which means you have more space and you don't have to carry those around

Also it had noseless player characters

Can't really believe how good and underrated it is and also can't believe that nintendo didn't sue konami and even allowed them to publish that on DS

However i don't think this Playstation game will be as good as any animal crossing game

Re: Review: Disney Universe (Wii)

orbots

the game is only fun if is played with 2, 3 or more players in single player gets boring , the game itself is not bad just not outstanding, i remember that some parts were hard playing solo, also the costumes of humanoid characters like jasmine, alice , aladdin and jack sparrow look good, but the rest costumes look horribly weird ,like simba , mickey , mike ,nemo, wall-e , looks like someone killed the character and wore their peeled skin as a hunting trophy prize i would have preferred if they had used big headed chibi versions of the actual character like the funko pops, or like the towsfolk of dinsney infinity that looked like cute bobblehead toys , they also had

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/xYkUpIC3Gc0/hq720.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEhCK4FEIIDSFryq4qpAxMIARUAAAAAGAElAADIQj0AgKJD&rs=AOn4CLBYYFGJPypOLKmnDIY9_G1gzSukLg

this is an image of how wall-e and EVE look on disney infinity for reference, keeps the uniformity in size and style

Re: Review: Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp (Wii)

@CanisWolfred the 3d character designs of this game despite being an extremely old game somehow are kinda similar to the ones of the young mystery gang from the 2020 scoob! movie except that shaggy's nose looks different

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Scores Free Single-Player Demo This Month

orbots

@Inaroomalone that's more of a skill issue

I was glad that the kart handling was kinda similar to mario kart 8. for the curves you use the drift flicking trick

You start to drift then flick this left and right as you do

The plane handling was what caused me more troubles as is hard to know at what moment to use the boost

The boat handling is not that easy you charge a lvl 1 jump do a stunt and gain small boost the curves are the complicated part took me a while to figure
You must keepn holding the boost button since it slows you down as you move through the curve then release after you have crossed it the timing must be precise or else you will bump against the wall
