Re: Ten Games We'd Like To See On The Virtual Console In 2009

marktheshark

Games I would like to see on VC:

Rampage: World Tour (N64)
The rest of the KOF games, from '95 up to 2003
SVC Chaos (Neo Geo)
Road Rash 64
Gex 64 & Gex 3
Samurai Shodown RPG (Neo Geo CD, might not happen for a few years)
Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Samurai Shodown III, IV, V, and V Special
& some 3DO games

@brooks83, 138

How is Uninvited unlikely to come out?

Anyways, here's my top 10 games I want to see on VC (no particular order).

10. Snowboard Kids
9. Snowboard Kids 2
8. Samurai Shodown V Special
7. Mortal Kombat 1 (Genesis version)
6. Rampage World Tour
5. King of Fighters '95
4. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1, 2, & 3
3. Mega Man 7
2. Castlevania Dracula X (PC-Engine version)
1. either Salamander or Sapphire (Both are for PC-Engine)

And where in the world is KOF '95?!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - January 2009

marktheshark

Most of those JPN only games on the list make perfect imports. Especially Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu II & Spriggan Mark 2.

It's just too bad it may take months, even a year or 2 until some of those JPN only games make it to the Europe & NA VCs.

Re: Nobunaga's Ambition

One game closer to the other Romance of the Three Kingdoms games! I think that Koei might actually put another ROTK game on the VC closely to the release of a Dynasty Warriors game.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - December 2008

Well, it looks like at least most, if not all of the games that were Japan-only in that list don't need to be translated. So I guess all those japan-only games on that list could be released on the US & European VCs while we wait for the Japan only RPGs to start coming out on the VC*. At least that's what I'm guessing.

*Yes I know they have to be translated.

Re: Metal Slug 2

@cowboy

Yes, there is a two player mode in which a 2nd player could join right in almost any part of any stage.

Re: OFLC Update: M.U.S.H.A and More

marktheshark

@Devastator

I do agree. I would the love to see games like X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, & Street Fighter Alpha 1, 2, & 3 if the Saturn were to be easier to emulate.

@Mr. Cheez

Very possible, but the experience just wouldn't be there unless we can get those FMV games; you know, like the Make My Video series, Night Trap, & Slam City with Scottie Pippen .

Re: USA VC Update: Space Harrier

marktheshark

@Oot For life!

They'll sell very well but it's a bad business move to dump all their games in 1 sitting. Yoshi's Island won't be coming for a while since Ninty is trying to make the VC emulator compatible with super Fx games. Earthbound could be saved for either the 300th vc game release or saved for christmas. KSS has been delayed temporaily due to the ds remake.

Re: USA VC Update: Space Harrier

marktheshark

Oh no, don't tell me the VC's dry season is about to begin again. At least I bought Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Yoshi's Story, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse all for only $7, & I got Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside for free so I should be fine for the next few weeks.

Re: EarthBound

marktheshark

I heard from somebody in the Starmen.net forums that EB might not come to VC because of legal issues. It REALLY sounds like a silly rumour though.

But, then again that's starmen.net for ya.

Re: Hardware Focus - Nintendo 64

marktheshark

I wonder what's taking them so long to release any 3rd Party N64 games yet, I know some of you guys will probably tell me that the VC emulator can't emulate the controller pak. Well, unless I see a credible source saying that, I'll have to take the "controller pak rumour" with a grain of salt.

NK:" I can say that there is no title planned to use the USB keyboard yet. We have decided to not support it for various reasons but the possibility is there and if we see a good implementation for a game to implement it we will most probably do it. At the end you have the keyboard as a new layer over the game that is running whether it is transparent or not."

Wow, just wow

what's the point of not bringing USB keyboard support to VC C64 games?

Re: Metal Slug 2

marktheshark

@Shadow_Sonic

It comes out in Japan in October. As for the NA & European VC, you could expect it on either late this year or early next year.

Re: USA VC Releases: Mario Golf and Shining Force II

marktheshark

This week is a miss as I have to get a new router since the old one isn't working.

As for Mario Golf, the chances of me downloading it were already low, but the lack of the GBC characters and no way to bring them kills any chances of downloading it for myself. For now.

As for Shining Force 2, I've 2 questions.

1. How hard is it? Can a beginner of strategy RPG's like me be able to handle it?

2. If one of your party members were to die, will there be no way to revive them for the rest of the game like in Fire Emblem?

Re: USA VC Releases: Mega Man and Neo Turf Masters

marktheshark

@Alpo
I don't think you can request specific games to come out on the VC. Turok 2 probably won't come for a while, for Duck Hunt, they have yet to implement zapper support for the VC which might also take a while, but don't lose hope!

@Kultist
It's gonna take a bit for Duck Tales to come on the VC due to licensing stuff. But I can assure you that licensing issues could be less of a problem as time goes on. So it might come in the VC when you least expect it!

I'm quite the optimist arn't I?
