Metroid is my desired pick but I'd love it if they made movies based on some of their dead/dormant IPs to drum up interest cough Golden Sun cough. Unfortunately, I think it will be the other way around, they will make movies about the things that are already popular.
Ugh, I want to get it, but I already bought the OG Legends three different times (360, PC, Switch). I'm not saying I would never buy it, but I really wish it was a new game rather than an enhanced remake of a game I've already bought and beaten multiple times.
Zelda: Four Sword Adventures would benefit more than any other game on this list from a Switch Re-release where you just need an NSO subscription and 3 friends. I think the barrier to entry prevented a lot of people from getting the full experience of this game.
I would argue that Nintendo is the MOST targeted at adults. As an Adult™, I have a life that barely allows me the time to just sit on the couch and play games for a few hours. However, playing in small bursts when I can spare a moment, then throwing the game in sleep mode until I can fire it up again is perfect for my hustle bustle lifestyle.
As a Final Fantasy lover and MMO hater, I had two false starts trying to get into this game, but finally I committed until I got to the first dungeon (around lvl 15), and then I couldn't stop. If you are a Final Fantasy fan, even if you don't like MMOs, this is definitely worth your time.
@PrincessMama you might miss some fan service and references but the story is set up so that you can understand everything without needing to play the previous games.
@OorWullie speaking as someone who played the free trial up to before when it only went to Heavensward, it’s well worth it. There’s general a consensus among players that you either quit during a realm reborn, or you become a walking advertisment for the game. I’m now maxxed out on every job and I’m here to say it’s totally worth it.
If I was a CEO and my job was to keep my company's stock up, I'd probably say something to keep my investors from selling immediately as well. Just saying.
I remember when that trailer dropped and I laughed at how goofy the end was. Like who is gonna care enough about Pokemon to take over Times Square. Well, egg on my face, I guess.
Obviously, I'd rather have the option for physical, but for a console that's meant to be taken on the go, I admit I get almost all of my Switch games digitally. I think taking the option of physical releases away is bad for the general gaming population, but it won't really effect me if Nintendo stops selling physical copies.
@ParrakerriRush I don’t know if this would be possible from a technical standpoint but what if they could use the Nintendo app to connect to the switch 2 and have the phone operate as the second screen. Then you just have to make an attachment that could hold most phones to the bottom of the switch 2.
So just one correction, you CAN'T go to Titania after Sector X if you save Slippy. My go-to for playing the "easy" route was to always do what I could to unlock the harder route, then decline it to go the easy route. However, the game doesn't give you the option for just that route. It make sense, since there's no reason to go to Titania if Slippy isn't there. But just pointing it out.
I hope they keep the text formatting issue at the end where Ganondorf says ZELDA and SAGES in all caps but then uses your name exactly as spelled so it can be like
How was the Co-op? Or was that not reviewed? Also I found the helper character astonishingly overly patronizing in the demo. Has this been addressed to keep them from telling me the solution to a puzzle before I’ve even had a chance to look it over?
I just want something other than pretty graphics to justify a $50-60 price tag. Give me master quest and boss rush from the 3DS version. Or throw something totally off the wall at me like a challenge mode.
Was excited to play the co-op with my wife, but I've been informed via reddit that the co-op companion isnt unlocked until after the prologue. Sharing here for anyone else to know.
Im happy for people who only have Switch to play on, but for someone like me who already plays on PC and just wants to play on Switch for the more casual content, this is a kick in the crotch 😞
@dskatter I had no problems enjoying P5R on Switch. I have a gaming PC, but given the length of the game, I valued the portability over the performance (And Steam Decks are sold out until the RAMpocalypse is over).
I'm not opposed to the style of Star Fox Assault with a combination of on foot, flying and tank missions. But you REALLY have to elevate everything. Being on foot needs to feel just as good as flying which needs to feel just as good as being in the tank. Otherwise the complaints will always be "Why aren't we just flying?"
Pikmin are officially an invasive species taking over all other franchises. If we don't stop this now we'll have Pikmin growing out of our noses, ears, and...other places. WE HAVE TO STOP IT!
I’m wondering if this ISNT a cameo. Like, if this has just been a little Easter egg in the film, Nintendo probably wouldn’t have said anything. Because it’s here im now wondering what they’re NOT showing us.
@Kiz3000 Maybe I’m wrong on Pokemon but I admit I’m not in the age demographic for that anymore. Metroid could be a system seller. Prime 1 pushed sales on the GameCube because it was marketed well. I just feel like Nintendo waited way too long to announce a release date. The game was admittedly underwhelming, but you could have seen a bigger rush for it with marketing.
@Pillowpants Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a system seller because it was the culmination of the previous entries developments into one game.
Mario Kart World was much more experimental, and I would argue that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a superior game (not saying world is bad, but trying something new is gonna be hard to beat refining a 20+ year old formula.) Maybe it’s just my circle of friends but nobody seemed that excited when the Switch 2 dropped for anything they announced, with some of my friends commenting that they were content with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch 1.
Maybe announcing I don’t know, some first party games might build some hype? Like Mario Kart World is fun but not a system seller. Neither is Tomodatchi Life. Pokopia brings in the casual crowd but isn’t necessarily bringing people in who don’t already have a Switch 2, especially when there’s so many other games. Metroid Prime 4 could have pushed sales if they’d really marketed it much earlier. Donkey Kong Bananaza was probably the only game I would say is a system seller but for people who were waiting for Mario, Donkey Kong may not have inspired them to try it. They need their Zelda, their Mario, their Smash Bros. And I don’t mean Switch 2 editions I mean NEW games.
I really miss this gen of Games. I think there was something so perfect about playing SNES level games on the go that felt so...(sorry)...advanced. I know we still have a lot of indies that try to capture that old school feeling but I think it's hard to replicate the style of games on the GBA that felt so retro and so futuristic at the same time.
