Where's Wii U? Since it was a major failure, that automatically make it rare since so few were made.

A little late to the party though, their resale prices on ebay/etsy (especially of 3rd party ones) have come down now that the game has been out over 6 moths.

If the text is that small, just get a bigger television!! Switch is a home console, and home consoles are made to be played at HOME, thus on a television, so if you can't see the text, just get a bigger television. Simple solution, don't need to waste time writing an article about needing a bigger television!

There are about 2.5 million of them in the world, oddly enough a very similar number to the small New 3DS (has the faceplates). Look up the numbers for yourselves, both sold about the same, so both are failures in terms of lifetime sales.

Not always, how'd that NES II or SNES II sell? How did the Wii Mini sell? Yeah, they don't always extend their lives or sell well, only their handhelds, which is clear at this point Nintendo does view Switch/Switch Mini as the 3DS/Wii U successors, there's no way around it, not with both having been discontinued, and neither having a direct successor.

Pandemic, and Animal Crossing going mainstream is why Switch got revived.

But, but, but, but fanboys kept saying Switch/Swith Lite are NOT the 3DS's successors, only the failed Wii U's successors, and that articles by Nintendo Life saying the 3DS was dead were lying and that the 3DS was selling like hotcakes, even with Switch on the market, and that the 3DS was the best selling handheld Nintendo ever made, even though the numbers say otherwise:
Game Boy: 119 million
Game Boy Advance: 81 million
Nintendo DS: 154 million
Nintendo 3DS: 75 million

The original one was a double screen clamshell Game & Watch, while the original Super Mario Game & Watch was a single screen. If they were to stay true to form, it'd have to take a DS/3DS clamshell design.

And yet somehow people can still call their Animal Crossing islands "Covid" and "Corona" and "Covid19"- I've got friends who have islands called that, and they're still playing.

Animal Crossing doing so well, that Nintendo has to remind people about Pokemon?? WOW!

What do you expect? This game was rushed out quickly, because Wii U failed miserably, and they needed a quick launch game for Switch, thus more bugs/glitches in a rushed game than in a perfected game.

Why is it no one points out that MK8 on Wii U alone OUTSOLD Double Dash on GameCube???

And the crazy thing about it is that Wii U was the next abysmal failure, not even reaching 1 million units itself either!

Unless this comes out in about a year from now (or later) Switch will have had a shorter lifespan than that of the abysmal failure known as Wii U! See for yourself:

Wii U's launch: November, 2012
Wii U's replacement: March, 2017
Total: 52 months

Switch's launch: March, 2017
Switch's replacement: August, 2021
Total: 53 months

See? If it doesn't get at least 53 months on the market before its successor comes out, it'll have lived a shorter life than that of Wii U, Nintendo's worst selling system ever!

Should point out that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are GAMECUBE games PORTED to Wii U. It's more likely that Nintendo has plans to release GameCube games on Switch- oh, wait Super Mario Sunshine is coming, so they already ARE releasing GameCube games on Switch!

@Ventilator but Switch was rushed out 4 years ago, so it has them now!

Only 3 3D games isn't much of an all star collection...

@Scoopz and Mario Kart 8 Wii U outsold Double Dash, but you don't see Double Dash getting re-released.

Sorry, but Mario Kart 9 looks really crappy. I know it's cool having virtual augmented reality, but I don't like it.

@Sun_wukong you mean Wii/GameCube, the Wii U was such a massive failure, Nintendo has erased it from all history.

@rjejr use those same 8 files, because each one gets an ore rock and a money rock (each ore rock gives you a slight chance at a gold ore), but yeah, the parts are only half the story, you still need the gold armor, the gold ore, and crapload of iron nuggets- look how many, not to mention the rocket, which means Celeste has to give you that, so this isn't something that can be done a week into playing.

You KNOW it is! I can't wait for the first Zelda game ever on Switch!! Yes, yes, the BOTW original was on it, but that's a port of a Wii U game, only done because Wii U failed, and they had to quickly move over development, so this will be Switch's first ever Zelda game!! WOO-HOO!!!

3DO and Jaguar were both commercial failures! Sure, not as big a failure as the Wii U was, but both were massive failures themselves!

@StuTwo that was literally the only thing the Genesis had over the SNES! That's like the friend of James talking about his calcium milk, because that was literally the only thing his milk had over that of James. Plus, given that the processor is only part of the story, the fact that the SNES had upgrades through the FX chip meant we saw POLYGONS in an SNES game! FEAKING POLYGONS THAT WOULDN'T BE THE NORM UNTIL N64/PS/Saturn!! Here's his video showing how Genesis only had the faster processor, the NES dominated the rest:

You know Super Mario Sunshine HD was totally planned for Wii U, but obviously since Wii U was a massive failure, and a short 18 month or so lifespan it never came out, but I don't doubt it got ported to Switch like every other Wii U game, so soon we'll be seeing Super Mario Sunshine HD on Switch!!

@MeowMeowKins because it was a commercial failure, selling something like 1,300,000 units, discontinued only like a year and a half after launch.

@Crono1973 but there aren't any more customers, it was a commercial failure being quickly discontinued after launch, replaced by Switch. A commercial failure means it has no sales, and no sales means no owners/customers. The Wii U isn't being updated, it's already gone.

You mean Switch and 3DS, Wii U was a commercial failure that was discontinued shortly after released being replaced by Switch.

I bet Sony and Microsoft are wishing now they had launched the X and PS5 in 2019 so they could cash in right now on the hot new gaming trend, because Switch is owning it all!

@w00dpecker they didn't "miss" anything, they CHOSE not to play, because they CHOSE not to buy a Wii U between 2012 and 2017. Missing implies they didn't have the chance, but for those 4 1/2 years, they CHOSE not to buy.

So, 7 1/2 years later, and we get an "enhanced port". Nice Nintendo, take almost 8 years to make a PORT??

@JohnnyC yeah, Splatoon pretty much flopped in 2015.

Probably because when they moved it from Wii U to Switch they had to take out a few things- you know this was originally planned for Wii U until recent, because of Wii U being the massive failure, and having to have all its games moved to Switch. If it had come out on Wii U, then it'd probably have had local.

So if it got back to number 2 then it was lower? What did it drop to?

It's good news though, because all those Wii U games that were in development and quickly ported over to Switch after Wii U became a massive failure means we'll see more games next year- all those Wii U ones that never came out, and all the Switch ones that were in development too before Covid. We're going to get tons and tons of games in 2021! Why isn't everyone happy?

Sweet! This is probably the Wii U's version which was ported over to Switch after it was deemed a massive failure. Surprised it took 3 years to finish though, so they must have literally just started when they decided to port over every Wii U game to Switch.

And don't forget Iwata took a mammoth pay cut in 2012 after the Wii U was deemed an utter failure. That's saying something about Japan right there!

Sales may be low, but at least it outsold Super Mario 3D World!

Why isn't this out yet? It was originally being developed for Wii U, then quickly ported over to Switch after Wii U was declared a massive failure, and yet Switch is now in its 4th year and still no Metroid Prime 4!! Come on! I know they had to start it all over again, but did nothing get done?

@Roto13 Except this is worse, because both Redd and diving could have been added sooner, and don't even get me started if/when they add gyroids, because all the days it's rained on my island means I could have had over 1,000 gyroids now! Adding in series regulars to me was cutting too much- Redd and diving should have been in there from the start, no reason to hold them out for updates. Redd has been in every single game, why did it take an update (which mind you some will never get, because not everyone has wireless internet to connect their Switch to in order to download it- so imagine Animal Crossing without Redd, because to some that will be the case) to get him?
