Plenty of DK stuff recently (merchandising, theme park, classic GB games on Switch, DK Country Returns HD)... it feels like they are paving the way for that rumored Switch 2-Day 1-DK Open World game.
It would be so Sony to have the very expensive VR2 languishing with no games and yet release a very expensive new console that will languish with no games (and then release the VR3 that will...)
This is a weird year: all the important games for the rest of 2024 have been announced; the Switch is still selling very well, thank you very much, and will continue to do so this Christmas; and why risk the backlash of a Direct with no successor news.
I guess we'll get more info next February around the same time when the very last person who still hasn't bought Mario Kart 8 finally caves in. But until then, let's enjoy all these sweet new Mario & Zelda games.
With this, The Plucky Squire, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered, plus a certain Astrobot (to name a few) it's one of the most packed Septembers that I remember. I better hurry up and finish Paper Mario TTYD by then.
It strikes me that Nintendo will release SUPER MARIO WONDER and WARIO WARE MOVE IT! and SUPER MARIO RPG in a month. Every two Fridays, from mid-October to mid-November, one of them. Different genres and all that, I guess, but... uh?
That's very Nintendo. After a $26 million opening day, any other company would have announced The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 for 2026 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie 3 for 2029 (adding a small comment about a Zelda movie being in progress), but Nintendo does what Nintendo does!
Funny, you could take a look at this chart and, if you didn't know better, think that the SNES was a bit of a flop when it was anything but. The rest of the consoles in the upper places just sold so sooooo much.
Kinda odd that Chicory: A Colorful Tale (and it's "today" release date) wasn't given more space to shine, as it's one of the Top 10 games of 2021 in many lists, and it's such a natural fit for the Switch.
Lovely game. It gets a little bit frustrating when you don't place an item exactly in the correct spot and you have no clue where it should be (or what that item even is), though.

Re: Tetris Forever Is Getting Its Own Collectable Handheld Console
"Includes TWO classic Tetris games".
Oh, you are just spoiling me.

Or not. Maybe not. This is Nintendo, after all.
Re: Don't Expect Any More Miniature Consoles From Sega
"We are not a retro company". They just released a Sonic title that is a remake of a 2011 game, but sure.

Re: All 14 Games In The Upcoming 'Tetris Forever' Compilation Have Been Confirmed
Can't wait, but... no release date in mid-October for a 2024 launch yet?

Re: The Plucky Squire Dazzles And Charms In New Sneak Peek Gameplay Trailer
Showing more gameplay with no firm release date is pure cruelty.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Disturbing 'Emio' Teaser, And Fans Are Baffled
I guess we'll know this Halloween season...
Re: Review: Paper Trail (Switch) - A Storybook Puzzler That Folds Up Beautifully
Looks great. Unfortunately, I can only afford one "Paper..." game this week, so it will have to wait a little.
Re: Video: Solid Snake Himself Dives Into A Brief History Of Metal Gear Solid
The lenghts they go to not mention Hideo Kojima once are remarkable.

Re: Four Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack
I remember that Spain's #1 videogame magazine, Hobby Consolas, ranked Flicky as "THE Worst Megadrive game" month after month after month.
I eventually played it and... uuuh... why all that hate?

Re: Life, Death, Taxes, And Turnip Growing Are Guaranteed In This Charming Social Sim
Looks cute. "Minabo" sounds like "My pecker" in Spanish, though.
Re: The Tetris Movie Falls Onto Apple TV+ In March, Check Out The First Trailer
@sketchturner Ohhh, ok, so the release will be the 31st of March in Spain because of the Easter holidays on the following week.
Re: The Tetris Movie Falls Onto Apple TV+ In March, Check Out The First Trailer
31st March? Both TETRIS and SUPER MARIO BROS movies will be released the same day?
That's going to be a nice double feature.

Re: Talking Point: The Mummy Demastered - Has A Better Game Ever Come From A Worse Movie?
@Krull I agree!
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite Music Track From A Nintendo Game?
The title theme from SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD. Super catchy, and it always brings a smile to my face (and my girlfriend's)
Re: A Kirby And The Forgotten Land Demo Is Out Now
I understood “Join Kirby on a new 3-D adventure… IN HELL!” (instead of “inhale!”) and wow.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th August (Europe)
"The latest numbered entry in the No More Heroes series... No More Heroes 3 is coming in 2020!"
Are you sure about that? 😜
Re: Video: A Look At Ocean Software's Cancelled SNES Game Green Lantern
@Ooyah I do remember, oh yes.
Re: Feature: The Game That Starred Mickey Mouse, Ghostbusters Or Garfield, Depending On Your Region
@RogerFederer in Spain too. It was the future! THE FUTURE!!
Re: Feature: The Most Relaxing Switch Games - Chill Games For Nintendo Switch
GRIS is indeed an "unmissable experience" but the GIANT EEL that appears out of nowhere and starts chasing you is not exactly calming.
God, I hate eels in videogames.
