Can't wait to blow this off for three months, get caught up in the hype machine a few days before release, impulse purchase it, play it, and then think "that was okay".
Really hope that these Joycon come out separate, at least somewhere, because that Pro controller is really doing nothing for me. However, those Joycon are just [chef's kiss]
@victordamazio I was coming to post the same thing. I feel it's likely this category was created after that Kirby composition won, so that other categories are no longer "tainted" with video game music. Better than a swift kick in the pants, I suppose.
"Shinya Ichizoku The Battle for Hokkaido’s Delicious Foods" is noteworthy for being the first commercially released game built entirely within SmileBasic 4.
@Anti-Matter I did! After being out of it for so long (dang virus and all), I decided to look up what has been going on with Pop'n lately, and just heard about the latest version. The key art of Mimi is too cute not to use.
Our local arcade is still stuck on peace, but any port in a storm, I guess. I'm sure I'll get to play Kaimei Riddles on a brighter day!
Not saying this is a bad or good thing, but VGM is used as a matter-of-fact in a lot of mainland media. A lot of Chinese variety shows pepper in all sorts of VGM and sound effects, uncredited. I've definitely heard Dr. Mario, Final Fantasy, Undertale, Pokemon, along with a number of deeper cuts.
It's likely the sound producers on these shows are big game fans and fit this in wherever they can. Of course, it's uncredited, but more or less all bets are off when it comes to mainland media. And this is on larger networks, not just some small company's advertising.
It's going to be a long wait for that Disco Elysium physical copy... we'll see if my willpower can last that long. Also curious to see if Tetris Effect will get a physical release somewhere in this wide world of ours.
@NESlover85 amazon.co.jp. The international shipping through DHL's not cheap, but it is incredibly fast (I've gotten some physical copies day and date with the JP release), and you can package things together to save in that way.
(They used to offer free international shipping with prime for a time, but unfortunately that has passed)
Saturn Tribute physical is in the mail, can't wait! Also, it's me, the one person grabbing Xevious since it's not in Namco Museum. Here's hoping Hamster's collab with Namco results in us getting Mappy sometime in the near term!
Espgaluda II baby! The local arcade used to have this before I was into shmups, and I barely touched it so I'm very excited to give it a fresh look! Especially after getting into ESP Ra.De before this.
@Emob That's true they can be imported, but for those weird-beards who want specific versions, or want to collect a full NA set, these may certainly be hard to come by if they ever come out.
FWIW, not holding my breath and glad that Ivello Swamp's JP release comes with Radirgy.
I'm holding onto my preorders for this and Radirgy Swag. I'm not holding my breath, but if they ever do get released, you can bet your bottom dollar these physical copies will be orders of magnitude rarer than anything Limited Run will ever put out.
A lot of potentially interesting stuff this week (Mario Golf, THPS, Legend of Mana, Disgaea 6, DDLC), but it's all in either "wait for reviews" or "wait for a sale" territory for me. Not a problem as the Stories 2 demo drops tomorrow and I'll be busy with that!
@Ryu_Niiyama Hey there! Thanks, and nice to meet you!
I'm fragrant hills, and I've been a fan since Triangle. My favorite song is probably Spring of Life, but Spice is definitely up there!
Which shows did you attend? I was lucky enough to attend two myself, World Tour 3rd and the first night of Cosmic Explorer (front row, just the most amazing experience ever), both in NYC.
It seems like there's a lot of Perfume fans on NL, for some reason! Probably because we're people of extremely good taste.
A welcome slow week because there have been too many bangers lately. Only considering picking up Live for FOMO and to save it for when the kiddo is older.

I'd absolutely love to give these out with candy if I can actually find them.

I'm all about that in my bright fantasy games.

My own personal Pokemon cycle, if you will.
Re: Random: People Are Getting Pretty Worried About Splatoon 3
The only concerning thing is that we don't have a new set of idols yet.
WHERE ARE THEY
D-did they do away with an idol duo?

No Quiz & Dragons. This is a personal attack against me.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th October (North America)
Goodness gracious, it's a busy time for STG: Zombie Nation, Tiger Heli (JP physical), Cotton 100%, Panorama Cotton, rRootage.
Then we've got Deathsmiles, Ivello Swamp, and Cotton Rock & Roll before the year is out. Not to even mention Mushi's physical release.
The wallet aches.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th October (North America)
Gleylancer is a pro-pickup this week, a steal considering the work that went into it and the secondhand price the game demands for a physical copy.
Very curious to see how Dungeon Encounters turns out. That sort of "no flash, all crunchy systems" is right up my alley.

Re: Random: Oh Dear, Looks Like This Company's Advert Has Ripped Off A Pokémon Song
@Anti-Matter There are some good arcades, the food rips and is dirt cheap; China is not what I'd call "boring". But to each their own.

@Williamfuchs420 probably because it comes out on July 9th.

Illustrated by Yuji Himukai, of Etrian Odyssey fame, no less! Not gonna lie, I'm a lot more interested based on that alone.
Re: Nintendo Download: 4th March (North America)
Thank goodness for a slow week after the last few. Might grab Metboy on sale at some point, the mobile version was surprisingly fun.
Re: Nintendo Download: 11th February (North America)
I'd get ROTK, but 70 dollars for the base game is a bit rich for my blood. I'll wait for either a sale or a physical release.

Re: Nintendo Download: 24th September (North America)
Nothing will entice me for a very long time. After last week (SM3DAS, Hades, SNES updates), the good game cup runneth over.

Is Hades coming out this week? Please don't toy with my heart like this.
