I should also say, I was devastated when Nintendo Gamer was shut down, and that may have coloured my initial impression of ONM. I can't really offer an opinion on how good the magazine was under him, but I'm glad his hard work has rewarded him with a prestigious job like this.
I've only read two issues of ONM in my life (thanks to my subscription being transferred over when Future cruelly shut down Nintendo Gamer), and I've got to say, looking at the editors page, my first impression was "who's this guy - some sort of male model?" He was posing in a manner not too dissimilar to the one in the article, but with a Derek Zoolander poker face.
I wasn't aware he was so instrumental in changing up ONM - I'm not qualified to say whether it was for the better or not - the last time I'd bought the magazine was literally in the 90's, but I'm glad he's going on to greater things.
I'm also very glad that Matthew Castle gets the helm at the magazine - he's always come across as a nice guy, and his time at Nintendo Gamer made the magazine a very enjoyable read for me.
What, never buy a third party game because they are just going to turn around and cancel features? - in this case, customers gave Warner their money and still they didn't honour their end of the deal.
THIS is the benefit of downloadable games. Because let's be honest - a game like this isn't going to light up the charts.
I'd be happy to forgo a physical release (and all it's benefits) if it means being able to play the game at all. Then again, if Nintendo were only to remove the 3DS's archaic region lock, I'd have been able to import this anyway.
I'm pleased Atlus is bringing the game to Europe personally - I hope we get to see many more of their games in the future (although I hope they aren't all digital only).
Another anonymous source. Don't know whether to trust it or not, but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. It sounds like the pathetic excuse EA would make.
Also, this quote was a two paragraph extract from a much larger article about how Nintendo should re-invent itself. If that should form the basis for an article in it's own right, well I'm flabbergasted.

@AdanVC
"...it's not like they are going to discontinue the console or something that would be suicidal..."
That's not what Michael Pachter and his crystal ball thinks.. Or maybe he does think it's suicidal - he is an analyst that short term stockholders look to for advice, after all.
Worryingly (and understandingly), Nintendo stock plummeted after the announcement that Nintendo have re-assessed their sales projections.
If it kicks Nintendo into gear, it can only be a good thing.
No one [who's a real fan of Nintendo] wants them to start putting their games on rival systems, but we're crying out for must have games. If only Nintendo had something like Smash Bros. at launch (and bless Sakurai's socks for working so hard on that game - to be fair, he couldn't get it out of the gates any sooner), the Wii U would be in a better place than it is now.
Mario's nice (I'm not a fan myself), and so's Pikmin, but we need another big Nintendo franchise release, and I'm not talking about Wii Fit or Wii Sports. Mario Kart is likely to do as well as Super Mario 3D World, as is Donkey Kong, so we need a Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero or Starfox game to really bring in the sales.
But of course, those games are far, far off.
A greater focus on Virtual Console across both platforms would be nice too.
Yes, this is a disaster of epic proportions, but why is it that Nintendo has to keep reminding people that they'll never put their core lineup on smartphones? Why can't these people get it into their thick skulls that to do so would be suicide for the company?
I'll have to admit, I tend not to gravitate towards these AAA blockbusters (I'd like to have had the chance to buy GTA V at least), but it could only be good for the Wii U if people were able to buy these sort of games on the console. I won't deny that Nintendo aren't blameless in that respect.
Then again, I don't gravitate towards Nintendo's first party offering either - of the 6 Wii U games I currently own, only one of them is a Nintendo developed game - Wind Waker. Nintendoland and the several Mario games just don't appeal to me. I'm not anticipating Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze nor Smash Bros.
What I am looking forward to is the quality third party exclusives (something which is thin on the gound at the moment) - games like X. I'm yet to buy Wonderful 101, but I'll probably strive to buy it (via eShop) and I will definitely keep my eye on Bayonetta 2.
These really put modern box art to shame. Of course, design techniques have evolved since 16-bit, but there's so much charm in artwork as intricate and painstaking as this.
My favourite is the header image - Shining in the Darkness.
I found out about this game through its connection to the GB Zelda game and Freshly Picked Tingle - Rosey Rupeeland. Zelda shares the same composer, and a character in Richard. In Zelda (he lives in the villa with some frogs), while Freshly Picked Tingle is said to have a similar (but not identical) battle system.
I looked up some Youtube videos, and it's completely inaccessable though. But it's got nice music.
While the 10 Mii limit is a bit awkward, all I really have to do is open up my 3DS and play through some games. Then let the next 10 in. I'm playing all of them at the moment, except Streetpass Quest 1&2, Puzzle Swap (completed!) and Mii Force (just too tedious to fit in to a 20 minute timeslot when I'm out and about).
I can realistically streetpass 30+ people a day.
On one hand, it's nice to bump into people from other countries and fill out my streetpass map - since the new update (before that, I'd be lucky to meet anyone from outside England), but it makes Streetpass Quest especially hard when your lvl 1 recruits' attacks are dinging off the heavy armour of a juggernaut. Not to mention I haven't been tagging many familiar faces lately.
So it would suit me if they upped the Mii limit past 10, but surely it would ruin the balance of the games. Unless you could let in loads and play with 10 at a time as you usually would...
You know what would be funny? The youtube bot currently rampaging through videogame related videos on youtube and flagging them for copyright infringement sniffed these out and slapped them with copyright claims. And Nintendo follows through with them. They've got form.
Anyone been hearing about this on Youtube?
Nintendo are special - where other companies urge video makers to dispute the automated flag (and personally release claims when they are notified), Nintendo are proactively reinstating them.
The following is an excerpt from a post on the Mighty No 9 forums by one of the project leaders:
Will the community manager be skewing things the way they would personally like to see the game? Will the community manager ignore views that don’t match with their own personal ideals? Will the community manager lose the community’s desires due to unfamiliarity with the type of game we are making? Will the community manager be creating their own robots and levels and programming, or changing the game in any way, from what the core creative team wants?! A lot of these or similar questions have been raised.
The good news is that the answer, in all cases, is no.
@Romeo Now this is turning into a serious case of Chinese whispers.
OK, she may have an interest in feminism, and she may be on the team thanks to a friend, but I haven't read anything that would describe her as sexist, let alone an extremely sexist feminist.
My boyfriend is a teacher assistant and most schools he works in are consumed by female staff. Just because he's male he's dealt with petty problems simply because of his gender. He's training to be a full time primary school teacher soon and I'm really proud of him. I despise the way the world views male teachers and how they're automatically branded as perverts, paedophiles and so on. It's wrong and shouldn't happen. Some of the best teachers I've had in the past have been men.
I'd like to add that, male or female, we all have problems. I'm sad that they [problems] exist, but I'm also sad this discussion - ad hominems and blind, baseless generalisations about feminists and masculinists - has spilled onto this website.

...unsurprising when you consider its own most recent financial figures revealing just 1.3 percent of software revenue in the last quarter came from combined sales on Wii and Wii U, compared to a massive 54 percent from Xbox 360, and 42 percent of sales for PS3.
When will people stop using this as a legitimate excuse. EA didn't sell any games on the WiiU in the last quarter because they didn't release any games.

Tennis is especially laggy. I played someone, supposedly from my own region and was cheated out of several points.
I shudder to think how bad it would be (if distance is even an issue, of course) were I to be matched up with someone in Australia.
But the facts prove that Nintendo are purposefully segregating the Wii Sports Club online community when we could all be playing together.
It was something I personally noticed - "Why aren't I coming up against people outside of PALland?"
