Re: Miyamoto Focuses on New Gameplay Experiences Before New IPs

armoredghor

@SirMario Well I seen arguments that uncharted is innovative or little big planet is completely original. Mind you, they do involve new features but they're hardly groundbreaking. Uncharted is a fresh story for tombraider style gameplay and little big planet is a sidescroller with a level editor. (to be short) The last Mario game I played was the first Super Mario Galaxy. I look forward to games like Zelda, Metroid, and Retro studios titles. These are the last Mario games of the generation according to their comments a year ago.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Footage Revealed, Mega Man Introduced as a New Challenger

armoredghor

@Fingeldor it's only the whole video I guess; maybe on smashbros.com @WaveBoy There's a full video on youtube; the one on facebook is only half. @Joshers744 I would recommend starting with 2. Megaman2 is the icon for the series. Be ready for a challenge; I recommend starting with 2, flashman stage, and play on 3ds so you can create a restore point anywhere. The game is hard for people like me with not a ton of 2d experience. Megaman 1 is on a curve too with the first robot master you choose usually being the toughest. Good luck!

Oh and I think each version will have exclusive levels; I didn't see a single level in both versions. 3ds edition had the spirit tracks train and nintendogs level and wii u had the arena and others. That leads me to believe they're making handheld references on 3ds and console levels on wii U. Characters might even be exclusive too but there's nothing to backup that.

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Made The Right Decision In Skipping E3 This Year

I didn't know that ABC and Fox news covered this. Actually, this might be a smart move for the company; In the past 7 years of watching these press conferences on G4, I have heard nothing but crap form all of the anchors; Adam Sessler was objective, had a degree and left so he doesn't count for G4 anymore. If you don't want to here a bunch of negative talk immediately before and after your presentation, why not put it online? Viewers will only get what they want to hear from the company.

Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?

armoredghor

You know, I'd like to watch the xbox reveal, but seeing as they don't know how to make a proper live stream compatible for later viewers, I won't be. The video is now .2 fps and if you pause and play it jumps to the end of the video and the buffer doesn't keep track of already loaded video. Worst piece of software I've seen in years!

Re: Reaction: Our Thoughts on Nintendo Direct - 17th May

armoredghor

Ultimately, I think the purpose of this was to let players know the last details of what has been announced so that they don't have to waste anytime at the e3 direct on any weak punches. There will be a strong e3 lineup from what we've heard with nearly every franchise represented.

Re: Senior EA Employee Caught Out Criticising Wii U On Twitter

hahaha Metroid prime has been called game of the year, eternal darkness is recognized as the greatest game of its genre, DS was highest selling console ever, Wii is a phenomenon that brought an explosion of new gamers, 3DS was just voted best console ever, and DS is codenamed developer's system. Mobile is still a secondary market-the tv to the movie theater. Resident evil 4 is still considered the best game on Gamecube. They beat Nintendo; its rare but doable; you just have to build something better than them for it to be more successful.

Re: CNN Money: Nintendo Is "Tone Deaf" To Industry Trends And Has "Lost Touch With Reality"

"Nobody is going to buy a Nintendo 3DS just to download that from the eStore." eshop, first of all; second of all, the Wii U and 3DS sales jumped when Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate came out. We saw DS sales leap when Pokémon came out and we saw 3DS sales jump when Animal Crossing hit japan about 6 months ago roughly. It clearly does affect sales. Holiday sales are tied with Super Mario 3D land because they came out at the same time. Disregarding trends and setting its own caused the DS market, Wii market, N64 market and even NES market which all modern games are founded upon. NES came out when the trend was to give up! President Iwata even basically. stated that the latter half of the year will be packed. @navonod18 well put- I honestly think we're (the regular monitors of news and game markets) are better equipped to analyze this industry than business grad with survey understanding of the industry.

Re: Talking Point: It's Time for a 3DS Storage Upgrade From Nintendo

armoredghor

I upgraded two weeks ago to a 32 gb and I think that'll be enough for a 3ds lifetime for me. If they average 2 gb which is probably overshooting it, I can hold about 14 games with the rest taken over by my music and a few small games. That's a lot to buy in a generation. Besides any standardized amount is going to be too little for someone, so that's why they left it as external memory and gave a free 2gb as just an entry memory device. I think they expect most people will upgrade as their prices go down.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Developer Support, and a Goal to Address the "Misconception" of Wii U's Capabilities

armoredghor

With Unity and the web framework, Nintendo is doing a lot to bring in new devs. Its very easy to develop on unity. I'm doing it now in my free time and would like to localize it to WiiU if I invest in the dev kits. Obviously as stated in the quote, developers are excited to come to WiiU, but knowing a dev cycle, it could be a couple years before we see a big one

Re: Nintendo Won't Be Holding A Large-Scale Press Conference At E3 This Year

armoredghor

The point is, you can't properly showcase a 3DS game on a tv. The pixel ratio looks much worse than it does on your handheld and you don't see the 3D. You could also see a running simulation on wiiU to show what's happening on each screen or not if need be. While e3 is usually the place to show this off, if they need to make a large presentation for third party developers without the press and users knowing, this would work best. Its a healthy alternative, especially for a surprise to us.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

armoredghor

Its interesting that I can go onto this site and see a same console sequel praised at 10 out of 10 but a long anticipated game get an 8. I would give it a 10 and it is in my top 2 games of all time. This game was well written, had beautiful music and new purposes for old items (dual clawshots, gale boomerang, & magnetic Iron boots). (Correct me if I'm wrong) it was one of the first if not the first Zelda game with a variety of sword techniques; it finally became a standalone weapon. Each new temple enemy test your new technique and became proved the value of this technique. The NPCs were less frequent but not many of the NPCs in the previous games actually added to the game. Horseback riding is now a capable way of doing combat. Its quick and you can fight with enough of your weapons to make it valuable. The game added a level of polish not seen other games for a long time.
