They should've just stuck with it anyways. It's not like this is a story game. it's just a collection of levels that you can replay over and over again. heck I wouldn't mind if nintendo never allowed deleting of Super Smash. As long as you can replay through the story your fine.(which mercenaries has none) Same thing with Super Monkey Ball.
Well this isn't targetted at the players. It's an attack to gamestop and bestbuy's trade in programs. They want to see at least a little bit of the profit from the games they spent years developing instead of gamestop and bestbuy receiving all of the profit. ps didn't we have an article a few months back about how developers didn't like the trade-in games for this reason?
they don't want to sell these games because they most likely will not sell no matter how many core gamers we have on this site waiting for the games. If we only see one of these titles, it wil likely be pandora's tower. The update was obviously announced because of a meeting planned to decide if we would receive these games or not and lets face it- jrpgs don't sell especially well-even more especially on wii.
@KaiserGX actually what is the difference between graphics and animation? i'm curious-they're both just visual aspects. Also, this whole thing about HD and hardware power. I don't think Nintendo really wants to use those two things but they want to have 3rd parties build games on their consoles. Gearbox said they would have gladly released borderlands on the wii but the processor couldn't handle the massive engine and they would've had to water down the amount of guns, defeating the purpose.
I think he just doesn't want this to turn into the art industry in which masterpieces cost $700+ each and the artist still barely makes ends meet. He just doesn't want to see Nintendo's multi million dollar corporation reduced down to be equal with garage developers. No offence to any indie developers.
Well, from what we've heard from developers, I think a good number of them have ideas and the others can just stick to their regular games and still offer them on the console.
@Burny & @DSman59 Nintendo has already released oficially that it will be 60fps & 1080p. I'm not sure about this article but i think it was mentioned in this interview: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/713410/reggie-fils-aime-post-e3-2011-nintendo-press-conference-interview/ @SolarKnight the only way to really tell is to watch the edges of objects and how the angles change. That's just about the only case in which you will see the difference
@WaltzElf it still looks like the same menu I see on my 360. I still hate that interface but they're the exact same thing-you can only see one item and the corners of two others. Neither are that good so just don't put it as the absolute worst.
I do think nintendo needs to create a new franchise with emphasis on online and graphics as well as gameplay but at the same time, still not everyone has strong wi-fi. Mine at home isn't even broadband and won't accept my 3DS so it's not "universal" but VERY close.
I think they need to change the color. I really don't mind what that color is but just make it different like maybe the colors originally planned for the wii. (red, green, blue, Silver, Black & White) Also if they're gonna use a camera for video chat or AR, it needs to be at least a megapixel. The AR on the 3DS is great but sometimes it cuts out if you don't have the lighting just right.
saw this one coming a long time ago. They did it with original DS-only last gen compatible. We haven't had a decent game for it since 2005(besides LOZTP). They had to get rid of all the ports on the side of the thing for room. They want people to move on and actually try something new.
@Waveboy you could look at the screen to know precisely where it's aiming(probably great for looking down sights) and the camera that its using probably enhances pointer controls which is good because that's the one thing Motion+ didn't solve. I know what you mean though. Their whole point was an alternative to keep playing when the TV is in use. (can't we just bust out our 3DS's for that?) The best we can hope for is that sony's PS3 really does have a 10 year lifespan, Xbox360 follows suit and we keep getting hardcore games for 5 years.
Looks cool. I wonder if they're measuring the player's strength on the slide pad to creep/run/walk. I think they're still trying to come up with more ideas to justify it as a sequel. I like that.
They've already shown that the system will support 5 player multiplayer but will it support 8... Honestly I'd trust it on either platform but don't expect for at least 3 years considering Project Sora hasn't even finished Uprising.
I think on all the videos in which we saw the actual controller, it was a peripheral running on wii whereas the actual new games & clips were running on the new console.
@SigourneyBeaver free 1000 points for first buyers, free Super Mario bros on December 25, 2006, free photo dojo, free excitebike. yeah they're PURE EVIL. @Hardy83 what's your definition of everything. because if they've done everything wrong then every other medium has done at least 100 things wrong on their download medium
just about every system is just an update of the old one. We won't see anything ground breaking until next generation. nintendo only innovates every other generation. All in all, he had a good point that the major companies need to show what they hold over these indie developers besides graphics.
I really wish Pinball Pulse would stay. They'll probably just remake it again with 3 or 5 tables instead though. I still doubt it would be comfotable playing Locksley's Lineup with a camera that's off to the side of where you're looking.
@21 because I don't like paying a monthly service fee to access the internet or carrying around a messenger bag just to use email. plus if I get stuck in a game, I can look up walkthoughs without even closing the game.
@2&variousothers exactly. this is not the game industry's fault the average target audience is actually 25-35 year olds. If you're not even gonna look at what they play, you might as well just drop them in a room a stack of Final Destination movies, happy tree friends season and a single copy of Watchmen.
I know what you mean. Another Super Mario 64 would be amazing but I doubt that we'll ever reach that viewpoint of a whole new world again. They brought real world movement into a game. And now motion control. Now they can only bring scents, sights(graphics as always), 3D sound, and possibly simulated textures. Anything further will be abstract and many people will go for that but it won't move the whole market to a new position.
I'm surprised my laptop could handle the 3D sound. If your computer can display the 3d sound the sound in the beginning will go left and right back and forth, get louder in the center and then almost start doing figure eights.
Added sword techniques, extra sidequests, bigger boss battles, an improved aiming system, more variety on horse back battles, more new weapons and less familiar ones. Wolf link was intended to be weak with extra speed and senses. It was a great alternative if you didn't have your horse call or horse grass around. @bAmbAmthey added the extra heart piece slot because they had more quests and a bigger world to use. Besides, they're all optional. Added sword techniques gave the player meaning to the words 'primary weapon' it wasn't the thing used after you used your latest anymore. You could have full sword battles in which you could schoose any technique to fight with. The dark nights with neon bugs gave it kind of a cyber punk feel. The plot has as much as any other Zelda game. I think this is the real successor and surpasser of Ocarina of Time. This game is in one of my top 3 of all time.
@SamIAm69 netflix already announced at GDC that they'll be starting 3D movies on the 3DS this summer. I wonder how they can outdo netflix other than full digital copies...
It's a solid game that remade 3 titles on the NES. It's not a ripoff. And if anyone thought this game was a ripoff, then they should have researched or just looked at the back of it. This is like the people who were disappointed in Animal Crossing once they found out it was just an open world game. Just Saying.
@y2josh only if they were carrying the same phones and were compatible with all others made by the same company. There are soo many types of phones out there.
This is going to be more effective over time. I expect to get 50 a day towards the end of the console lifespan. Not to many people buy these things at launch unless they're really hardcore obsessive.
@16 This means that they probably haven't even given info to developers. and basically saying all these rumors are just rumors. Didn't they also admit it was a bad kept secret before E3 when the rumors about the 3DS came out?
6 inch controller screens more likely to happen than these. If anything I could see a traditional controller shell coming with the new remotes for traditional gaming + tilt.

Re: Netflix has Another Nintendo Console Queued Up
seems cool to pop on some head phones and watch it while someone else is watching TV. With a 6" screen it's big but not as clunky as a laptop.

@24 you got a point. This one looks decent. the facecam could use a better framerate though.
