Re: Analyst Firm Concerned That Wii U Will "Lack Broad Appeal"

maybe not 50 million console sales by the end of the year but they'll stay afloat long enough to stay alive. Since penny arcade promoted it for multi platform games, I think it will get more sales there. (mentioned because its a multiplatform site) heck COD might be a highest seller on Nintendo this year.

Wow, it sounds like they could've fixed the controls for the drones with a mapping on the controller or even added a minimap. They chose to disregard a new console's crowning achievement and build another half baked game. 3 was good but let it go

Re: Talking Point: Life Without Wii U Achievements

To younger gamers (highschool etc.) I could the option still having a problem of condescention. Gamers looking down upon their friends because they are "too afraid to show their gamerscore." personally, I would just say to give rewards for completing the same challenges, such as Zelda OOT, give heart pieces and bigger bags for those who finish the challenges. Give them something to remember it by, not just an arbitrary number.

Re: Blitz: Forget The Specs, Wii U Is Getting Developers Excited

@26 developers couldn't do whatever they wanted on the SNES. by then there were plenty 3D games that needed to backscaled for mode 7. Besides there were the limits such as the Mortal Kombat modifications. I understand they need the support of the devs but unreal engine 4 and Cryengine 4 run on it, so there's no problem with that.

Re: Talking Point: The Rules for Violence in Video Games

This is going to be long winded. read if you care to.
First off, animals aren't defenseless. The commonly hunted animals in africa are the ones that are the strongest and most ferocious in the world. Hunting guides often carry fully automatic weapons on hunts for their own safety. It is common for a lion to be hit with a heavy caliber weapon and run and hide in bushes. Once they've been tracked and they know of someone's nearby presence, they will charge one person that they choose. In that time, there are often 5+ hunters in the situation firing away at it before it kills one of them. If nobody lands a shot in the eyes or mouth it will likely take at least one person out. Here in america, we have the department of fish & game to regulate hunting to seasons and maintain the healthy population. Countries such as South Africa allow for year around hunting but are still regulated by population. Poaching however, has always been a problem. It's a crime; don't look at it as the same as hunting. I am surprised that the killing of fictional wild beasts is more controversial than the killing of people in a war orchestrated by a third party.

Re: Reaction: Age Ratings and Video Games

I think kids at 14 should be able to play pegi 18(or M rated over here) games under supervision. I saw 300 when I was underaged with my father (which is legal) at the theater. The misconception of games nowadays is that they're for kids or they're evil. neither is true and this needs to be cleared up.

I have 3 semesters of programming C++, half a semester in java and BASIC (survey course) and 3 semesters of japanese. They're both pretty hard and take some studying but you can play with coding much easier no matter how much you know. go for it.

@Nintendo-naut All the games announced are in the launch window, every mario game is a sequel of some sort, new or or 64, I'm interested in Nintendo Land and Nintendo won E3.
@Shworange you're complaining about a CEO complaining about complainers.
@Kody-WB good to see an optimist (:

Re: Satoru Iwata Acknowledges Possibility of Free-To-Play Games

Considering the price of a console dev kit (3DS $3000 vs. iPhone $100), I don't think we'll have a problem with the shovelware on the iPhone. We got it on the Wii, but it'll cost people a lot more to publish a game on WiiU, which hopefully means more professionalism. Free games are good to start a franchise, but 20+ year old franchises don't need that to be successful.
