Why can't Nintendo, or even Atlus, sell DIGITAL Special Editions, where the goods are accessed by means of exclusive apps or menu items via DLC? You know what? I hope the Nintendo Switch Successor System ends up becoming a Digital-Only thing, so we can only buy eShop Cards and so forth! That way, we can ALL get the extras we want, with a premium!
But in all actuality, Nobody's targeting Sonic Colors Ultimate Launch Edition! If SEGA chose to remake Sonic Generations, extending it with the 3DS Levels added, and adding characters like Classic Amy and Classic Knuckles, Tikal, Marine and Big, and including new Rival battles like Omega and Jet the Hawk, they could've used the idea for that Extended Edition Fanfiction, to make a fully-fledged game out of it, one that would have Scalpers targeting it. The Post-Story could involve Modern Metal Sonic and Classic Metal Sonic capturing everyone from both periods of time, and we could have playable characters like Classic Tails and Classic Knuckles for the Classic Stages, including Angel Island Zone and Flying Battery, and Shadow and Blaze for Space Colony ARK and Egg Fleet/Final Fortress, respectively. As well as new Boss Fights for Classic and Modern Metal Sonic, involving Classic Super Sonic (fighting Mecha Sonic) and Modern Super Sonic (fighting Metal Overlord), individually. And when it looks like everyone's fading from existence, Tikal grants the Sonics the power of the Super Emeralds, as they fight a combined Metal Time Eater, with phases lifted from past games: Sonic Colors, then Sonic Adventure 2 (with Metal Knuckles and the Tails Doll), and even going back to Green Hill Zone for the Final Phase!
I'd rather buy Sonic merchandise, because Sonic is the SECOND Fastest Thing Alive, first being Nintendo Collector's Items and Amiibos. In fact, if he truly IS the Fastest Thing Alive, then how come Nintendo stuff sells out faster than his stuff? That's something to ask Sonic, if they do another Sonic Twitter Takeover, this year.
This has become a game of "How bad do you want em?" We need Nintendo to abandon amiibo entirely, and introduce a new official way to make your own amiibo, and sell the data to write to the cards. That, or they can be like everyone else, and sell DLC!
@MrGrim I was told that this year's Christmas is gonna be stripped down, so I decided to pre-order the thing on Amazon now. I figure if I do that, I can pay for it in advance, and think about paying for some subscription services through gift cards over time.
Not to mention all the Official Sonic Merchandise from SEGA's Online Shop! What I'm trying to say is that with scalpers around, your only hope for collectibles is to buy from SEGA, rather than Nintendo. Besides, at least SEGA keeps these things in stock, because Sonic is not as popular as Nintendo. You know what? If SEGA announces a 30th Anniversary Sonic Twitter Takeover for this summer, here's a question to ask Sonic: "If you're so popular, then how come Nintendo's games and amiibos sell out, while YOUR stuff doesn't? Hmmmm?" Or how about "Why can't you be more like that nice boy, Mario?"
Come on, NintendoLife, hit me with more Sonic News! I dare ya!
Honestly, aside from the predictability of the Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda item, I think Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise this year has a greater chance of staying in stock after being available to the public than ANYTHING Nintendo! How can that blue pest say he's popular if his merchandise doesn't run out?! I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!!
@rjejr Why bother? You got a clock in your house, don'tcha? You got The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on your Switch, don'tcha? And you got Link's Awakening REMAKE, don'tcha? Then you don't need this! I put this on my Christmas list, though.
@DTFaux I have a feeling that it might lead to Tabuu coming back as a playable character. I mean, it makes sense. Unless we're gonna get someone else. I probably think it would be Tabuu.
@russell-marlow I was referring to those speculations over who will be the final fighter. I understand we didn't get a second Smash Trailer. I mean, are we doomed to wait until Fall?
@TimGibsonPBS It's possible we might get Legend of Zelda items added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I doubt we'd get the use of amiibo figures to add the Zelda Villagers like Ganon, Wolf Link, Medli, and Epona to our islands, let alone new ones like Revali and Kass.
This is one of the reasons I prefer a more controlled stream. This way, I don't have to deal with the overdemanding people in the chats. At least here, I can have my thoughts acknowledged, without being ignored by scads of pasty, unwashed nerds who rage whenever their favorite character whom they hope to main in Smash doesn't get in! I wonder if this applies to Daimando on Twitch. He has a limited amount of people tuning in for most of his stuff, myself included.
To be honest, I AM expecting a Smash Character Reveal on Tuesday. I just hope we get two, to put an end to the speculation, and that the FINAL character is a Brawl Rep: Tabuu!
After a few tries in updating it, I updated it. Good thing I found my USB Mouse I bought from college, years ago. My wireless mouse works my laptop, but the wired one hasn't been used in years, and now it's seeing active use thanks to Game Builder Garage.
@TruthisRare Do you have any idea how to install a portable disc drive on the Switch? They omitted that component, because it would make it too bulky for a portable, and give Nintendo a reason to make a console AND a handheld successor to the 3DS, rather than a hybrid.
@TruthisRare Good luck finding an Xbox Series X/S or a PS5. I mean, at least those games are better. Besides, if Nintendo truly has abandoned the Wii U, they would've closed the Wii U eShop, instead of keeping it open and delisting the Digital version of Skyward Sword, like they did with Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
@Otoemetry Because the amiibos are Limited Edition, on purpose! If they were cards, we'd get them bundled with the games! Maybe I should get a heart attack, trying to dig out my Wii U, hooking it up, and plugging in the System, the Gamepad, and the External Hard Drive I have for it, and then buy batteries for my Wii Remote Plus, Zelda Edition, and play the Original Game, because that's what I'm better off doing at this point!
Maybe Nintendo should sell "Make Your Own Amiibo Kits" with Refill packs of cards for those disadvantaged buyers, and then we get a Digital amiibo Store where we can buy the amiibo data for us to load onto the cards to use as many times as we like. No more having to pay outrageous prices for figures, when all you really need is the data!
I called it right on the Bells. I joined the waiting room, waited three minutes, and got mine with K.K. Disco. It only has him singing part of the song, but it fits. I'll bet the guitar is sewn on, but I think he would benefit from having a guitar strap. I mean, the fact that they went for K.K. means that the Collection would be easier to get, this time around. I imagine they'll probably do Blathers, Celeste, Mabel and Sable, and Minis of Timmy and Tommy.
You know what? I'm gonna waste money on either a $20 USB Device to make my own amiibo, or go cheaper, and buy a card from someone from Etsy who deserves my money more! In fact, I should rewrite my Inkling amiibo from Splatoon to be usable in Smash Ultimate! Wonder where I can get a Daisy cheap enough.
@EmmatheBest They don't go for "Most Popular Villager" character, otherwise, Raymond would be gobbled up by scalpers, constantly! Whenever he'd be available, scalpers will always go after him! I'm GLAD it's K.K. Slider, and if they end up releasing another character, I know for a fact that it won't be a preset Human Villager character, like the Red Shirt Villager depicted on Smash Ultimate!
I wonder if K.K. would even be scalped, or if he's Online Only. Hopefully, the fact that he's not as popular as, say, Raymond, will add to the fact that he'll be easy to get, off the get-go, this time.
Still, I DID say that K.K. Slider would be next, and I meant it.
When it comes to more recent happenings, I have to put the E3 2019 presentation up there, because it has the best use of Doug Bowser's name, by having Bowser show up!
@AvianBlue Hm. No idea. Maybe a third-party character, who turns out to be not as fun as you'll think, or maybe if they reveal a SECOND, and Final character, Tabuu from Brawl.
It's times like this that make me think of this dialogue from Animaniacs: Wakko's WIsh:
Yakko (looking at a ravine) "Wow, just don't look down."
Wakko "Do you get Vertigo?"
Yakko "Nah."
Wakko "Me, neither."
Yakko "Yeah. I've seen that movie three times and I still don't get it."
Whatever happens will happen. All I know is that this Direct will most likely be like the one in 2019. I just hope they present us with TWO Smash Character Reveals to end the speculations and hype and disappointment. If we get Crash, will he be as hype-worthy as Banjo & Kazooie, or will he be a disappointment? Same could be said for anyone else we would get. I mean, it's not like we'd get Tabuu from Brawl as the Final character.
I wonder if Naka would go back to work with SEGA, to set Sonic Team straight. It might be good for, say, a compilation of Sonic Team's Classics, like NiGHTS into Dreams, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Billy Hatcher & The Giant Egg, and even Burning Rangers.
Let's see. I could see the Direct starting with a Smash Ultimate Character reveal, then we see Doug Bowser introduced, then we see the usual fare, of games that can and will be showcased. Hopefully, if we're lucky, and if Nintendo feels like it, we'd get one last trailer, the FINAL Smash Ultimate Character reveal. And I have a feeling that when they reveal the Final Smash Character, it won't be a third-party character, or a character from a beloved franchise, but rather an Original Character, specifically Tabuu, playable without cheats. How else are you gonna end the Fighters Pass speculations with a bang?
I have a feeling that Nintendo will unveil their next revision of the Switch at E3, but they'll start with a Smash Character Reveal at the beginning, announce the sequel to Breath of the Wild, and more stuff, maybe a Limited Digital release of EarthBound, with a Physical Collector's Edition in an SNES Big Box, with a reprinted Player's Guide, and the stuff it originally came with, and a code for a download of the game. Same for the other titles of the EarthBound Series. And what will they end the presentation with? Another Smash Character Reveal, and a Switch Pro Exclusive title: Super Smash Bros Ultimate: Complete Edition, with Both Fighters Passes and all the DLC Mii Fighter Costumes! Okay, that last bit is just stretching it, but when was the last time this has happened? 2019, when they announced the lackluster Hero of Dragon Quest XI and the amazing Banjo & Kazooie!
I was gonna play Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World for the bulk of the weekend, but my Retro-Bit SEGA Saturn Bluetooth Controller's D-Pad Actuator broke, and the Right button doesn't get pressed. Luckily, I bought the SEGA Genesis Bluetooth Controller (also from Retro-Bit), and hopefully, the D-Pad durability will be better than the Saturn one. It'll be delivered around tomorrow afternoon.
Hm. Whatever the "Switch Pro" will have, it will have. We just have to wait until E3 2021 to find out for ourselves, and there's no greater time to show it off than a Nintendo Direct. And this time, I'm gonna be fast enough to pre-order it! I mean, it's not like there'll be a Switch Pro Enhanced Port of Smash Ultimate with ALL The DLC included. Maybe even upgrade it to a point of adding new Palutena's Guidances not made by Zelda Universe, for each of the Fighters Pass Characters. At least provide exclusive upgrade for existing copies for free, anyway. It's what they do for Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 to PS5.
@anynamereally Only Sonic Colors Ultimate, sadly. And I doubt that SEGA's gonna add DLC to Sonic Origins down the line, like the rest of the Mega Collection's offerings, a Game Gear Pack, Knuckles Chaotix, and the PC Edition of Sonic R, with the Saturn Edition of Sonic 3D Blast.
As much as I would want Dragon QUest X Offline to head for the West, I think Square Enix USA would rather the public have Final Fantasy titles on the consoles, because in the grand scheme, people prefer Final Fantasy over Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts as well. I mean, compare the reactions over Hero's inclusion to Sephiroth's inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Hoes Mad vs. Hoes Glad! And besides, Sephiroth has a cooler soundtrack than the Heroes of Dragon Quest, in particular, Advent One-Winged Angel!
@TryToBeHopeful Don't encourage the scalpers to go after Sonic the Hedgehog, as well! He's already a worthless enough brand as it is, and I'd like to be able to pre-order the stuff while it's still available. No need to escalate him into a hot commodity.
Maybe SEGA will be generous and provide us with an announcement of the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character. Knowing them, it would be a Sonic rep. It just fits.
@Luigisghost669 Me neither. This might actually be more fun with my SEGA Bluetooth Controller. I have the Saturn Edition. I got the Physical Version from Amazon, though. I have to wait until the day it is delivered, though.
I'm still debating on whether I should go all-in on the physical edition of Castlevania Anniversary Collection or settle for one of the Retro packaging options with the Soundtrack CD.
@ChakraStomps Well, the game in my case is Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World: Physical Edition. I even have a Saturn Bluetooth Controller for the Switch to play it with. I used it with Streets of Rage 4. SEGA Ages: Wonder Boy In Monster Land, as well. Plus, I put the leftover Gift Card money towards Skyward Sword HD, leaving me with $15.10 to pay for it before July.
@ChakraStomps probably nothing. But it's funny you mentioned cutting grass, because I was paid $50. Part of It I used to pay off a pre-order for a game coming this month. It's just that when it comes to what's hot right now, I am basically too slow. I don't have a problem when it came to the Deluxe Edition of the Sonic Encyclo-Speed-ia. I am not now, nor have I ever been Sonic the Hedgehog. And if I try to go too fast physically, I get speed-sick. And speaking of Sonic, why haven't the scalpers targeted Sonic's 30th Anniversary merchandise, yet? Is Sonic not as popular as he used to be, or does SEGA stock things better than Nintendo?
Maybe Viridi is right about humans deserving extinction and making way for the evolution of the Inklings. Come to think of it, maybe Viridi can be a new Smash Representative for the Kid Icarus series.
@Entrr_username Unfortunately, we need the authority of Congress to make it illegal in America. It needs to be made into a bill, then it has to be voted for in the House and Senate, then the President Biden must sign it into law, and any scalpers that sell their stock at inflated prices will be arrested and their items will be sold at regular price!
Those scalpers are becoming a real-life Team Rocket, minus the stealing of Pokemon from respectable trainers! Still, I should be grateful that scalpers in general aren't targeting Sonic the Hedgehog's 30th Anniversary goods. He's already worthless as it is. Should be Indie like ToeJam & Earl.

I think I'll play this on the XBox One X. I mean, it makes sense because of the greater processing power than the Switch.

@DropDash You want a break from the scalpers, here's some things you CAN buy without fear of them:

@anynamereally Only Sonic Colors Ultimate, sadly. And I doubt that SEGA's gonna add DLC to Sonic Origins down the line, like the rest of the Mega Collection's offerings, a Game Gear Pack, Knuckles Chaotix, and the PC Edition of Sonic R, with the Saturn Edition of Sonic 3D Blast.
Re: Team17 Switch Sale Slashes Game Prices By Up To 90% (North America)
I might consider the Yooka-Laylee games. I did back the Original enough to get the PS4 Version.
Re: Dragon Quest X Is Being Transformed Into A "Cute" Offline Game

Re: SEGA To Reveal 'Projects' For Sonic's 30th Anniversary This Week
@TryToBeHopeful Don't encourage the scalpers to go after Sonic the Hedgehog, as well! He's already a worthless enough brand as it is, and I'd like to be able to pre-order the stuff while it's still available. No need to escalate him into a hot commodity.
Re: SEGA To Reveal 'Projects' For Sonic's 30th Anniversary This Week
Maybe SEGA will be generous and provide us with an announcement of the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character. Knowing them, it would be a Sonic rep. It just fits.
Re: Reminder: Five NES And SNES Games Hit Switch Today, Plus A Special Version Of Super Mario Kart
@Bass_X0 Saw the first game on Nick Arcade.
Re: Review: Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World - A Fine Revival, Faithful To A Fault
@Luigisghost669 Me neither. This might actually be more fun with my SEGA Bluetooth Controller. I have the Saturn Edition. I got the Physical Version from Amazon, though. I have to wait until the day it is delivered, though.
Re: Limited Run's E3 Showcase Will Include More Than 25 Physical Game Announcements
I'm still debating on whether I should go all-in on the physical edition of Castlevania Anniversary Collection or settle for one of the Retro packaging options with the Soundtrack CD.
Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different
Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different
Re: Talking Point: amiibo Have Always Been Physical DLC, Skyward Sword HD Is No Different
Maybe Viridi is right about humans deserving extinction and making way for the evolution of the Inklings. Come to think of it, maybe Viridi can be a new Smash Representative for the Kid Icarus series.
Re: Pokémon Trading Card Scalpers Are Causing Some Ugly Scenes Right Now
@Entrr_username Unfortunately, we need the authority of Congress to make it illegal in America. It needs to be made into a bill, then it has to be voted for in the House and Senate, then the President Biden must sign it into law, and any scalpers that sell their stock at inflated prices will be arrested and their items will be sold at regular price!
Re: Pokémon Trading Card Scalpers Are Causing Some Ugly Scenes Right Now
Those scalpers are becoming a real-life Team Rocket, minus the stealing of Pokemon from respectable trainers! Still, I should be grateful that scalpers in general aren't targeting Sonic the Hedgehog's 30th Anniversary goods. He's already worthless as it is. Should be Indie like ToeJam & Earl.
