@traceman Happens every time Mcdonalds does Pokemon cards. They get expensive right away on the market but a year or so later they are very cheap. You can pick up complete sets of the last 3 or times mcdonalds has done it for very cheap online. With the cost of many happy meals to get all the cards, its probably best to buy them as a set some time next year
Lol now i understand why Nintendo and Playstation just do their own little pre recorded shows. Screw paying that. Thats alot of money spent for a trailer, imagine a longer gameplay trailer. Companies are best off putting that money back into development
@johnvboy Its only 9 million copies away from being the best selling pokemon game. And with the new indigo disk trailer with all the previous starters. I for one wasnt going to get the dlc, now i am. So im sure it will at least go to the second best selling pokemon game. Kids dont care about the performance trust me. I grew up playing glitchy roadrash on genesis.
For a game developer who never made a full 3d game. Its not bad, it just needs some polish and performance fixes. Most devs in the 90s when switching to 3d did horrible. I was playing the newest 3d games as they launched in the 90s. This one is fine. The pieces are there for an even better performing game. This generation of gamers just take these optimized open world games for granted not knowing that all the devs of the great games today started with pretty bad 3d games. Especially trying to get a full 3d open world game to work well on a tablet gpu for their first 3d game. Yea Zelda is awesome but they have been making 3d open world games since 1998 with Ocarina of Time.
@Serpenterror They Probably dont even own the original mascot, Polygon Man anymore. Or they just stay away from it. Like they did with Pepsi Man, but Pepsi Man was Japan only. What a stupid, hard and funny game lol
@Dom_31 Took me alittle while as a kid to figure out how to get past the first or second level because i didnt expect it to be a multi layered 2d game. I still dont understand the game, i usually just play till i get lost. I dont think i ever beat it.
@Anti-Matter
Yea maybe one day we will get a ps1 switch controller.
Semi serious
I do love the Gamecube controller. All the buttons are different shapes and sizes. Easy for me when all my life the X button has been somewhere different lol. After 21 years of owning an Xbox i finally memorized where the buttons after mostly playing on playstation and sega genesis my whole life
Depends on what generation the reviewer is from. This is an excellent mid 00s platformer. Most reviews cant understand that. Also its priced at 40 usd. Another thing reviewers never mention, probably because they get them for free and dont know the price
Remember to cut some masking tape into thin strips and make an X directly on the center of the screen. Or use marker and make an X or dot. Shoot the walls and adjust the X on your tv as needed. Its the 90s me remembering how to add aim assist to older games. Tvs aint squares no more but X or dot should still be center on the horizontal part. People not from this 90s generation of gaming cant think of it. Im full of tips for this generation of games
I just started playing Violet last night after picking it up day 1 and waiting a week or so. Im actually having alot of fun with it. I havent even made it up to the school yet. Ive been running around catching every different pokemon i see. Ill be on the forced pokedex screen after catching and ill be like, is that a Pichu in the background?!? And try to get out of the bs screens quickly to catch it. I did see some clipping and weird things. Im 30 years old, i grew up in the 2d to 3d transition. This is the game ive been waiting for, for over 20 years. It looks fine to me. Yea its no where close to on par with even low end pc but it reminds me of the fun i had on n64 and first 3d games in the mid 90s. Like i remind my friends, alot of devs had problems when moving to 3d in the 90s and comparing this game to like earthworm jim 3d. Its actually very good for their first full 3d open world game. I see things that can be improved on and things learned from watching other open world devs for years. Everything i see wrong can be simply fixed. But there is alot so it may be some updates and the switch running on a tablet gpu is not helping. Zelda BoTW didnt even look good either but its the way it played. Now if the next Zelda looks better than Violet and a larger game of course then there is still some life in the Switch in my opinion. Nintendo was never big into tech since the 64bit era but im sure the next switch would only be a little bit better. I doubt it will come close to the ps5 in gpu performance. But thats nintendo. Its about the game and story more than the tech.
