I prefer the 3D ones to the 2D ones, but I've seen casual players play 3D Mario games and they just can't get to grips with it. That's probably why NSMBW vastly outsold SMG on Wii. For me, Mario 64 is still the best.

@midnafanboy That could work. But the problem is the cost. I think you're right that Nintendo won't sell the Wii U without the gamepad, but who would have thought they'd sell a Wii without any online connectivity? So you never know...

@shigulicious Why is it invalid? What do you need the gamepad for if you're not interested in using it as a handheld tethered to a home console? Why is it ignorant to expect a cut in price, if that thing is replaced with a pro controller? Obviously the pro controller is cheaper to make.

A cut price Wii U with a pro controller and no gamepad would be cool. Especially if they bundled it with Bayonetta 2.

Does anyone know if this is coming out for a playstation platform? I loved the first one on Wii, but don't own or plan on owning a Wii U.

@Mahe I know and if it wasn't for Nintendo's competitors I would put up with it, but Sony have managed to position their products much more closely in line with my needs. Despite the fact that their 1st party games are no where near as good.

I would just feel like such a nob engaging in 2 screens at the same. I know people use Ipads and watch tv at the same time, but they're often not actively doing both at the same time and the Ipad is so sleek whereas the gamepad is so plasticy.

I don't like the gamepad and for that reason I don't want a Wii U. I just don't want to play games with that thing. Call me self-conscious,but I don't want to be sitting on the couch and for people to walk in the room and see me holding it, just doesn't suit my style.

If they could get it working with analogue sticks and triggers I would be more impressed.

All Yoshi's Island games blow hard. It's sounds like this is no different.

If it came with Super Hang On and World Cup '90 I'd get it.

This is a really enjoyable game. If you like Streets of Rage or Final Fight this is a really solid choice.

Off topic: Pity for us Corbie wasn't reporting from E3 this year. I really would have liked to have known what was Incredible.

New Star Fox!? Surely it would just be quicker and easier to do Star Fox 64 U, or what about Star Fox Adventures U? Everybody likes those games and there's a new generation of gamers that haven't played those yet + tablet + HD = winning formula. That way they don't have to start from scratch, why make new assets when you can just reuse old ones?

Ps. If anyone from Nintendo is reading this please accept this as an open application to your strategy unit, I think I would fit straight in.

Metroid Prime 3 was one of my favourite games on Wii. Donkey Kong Country was good, but doesn't last long in the memory.

This game doesn't interest me. I'm interested in the games: Mario 64 -> Mario Sunshine -> Mario Galaxy -> ???

I wonder what caused the bump in sales? The 3DS only really has 2 major system sellers (MK7 and SMBL), and they both came out last year. Still, that's one more than Vita, which only really has Uncharted.

Arkham City is overrated IMO. Arkham Asylum was better because it had a tighter narrative, with more purpose and focus. With Arkham City the magic of the first one gets lost in the mishy mashy open world structure. Arkham Asylum had a Zelda-esque feel to it.

@Nin-freak I didn't say ditch it. I said put it on the 3DS and don't make it the linchpin of the Wii U's launch.

And Pikmin sold 1.18m and Pikmin 2 didn't clear 1m.

All the fine tweaks in the world can't change the fact that Pikmin is a laborious game that has a limited fan base. I can't believe they've gone with Pikmin as a launch title again after what happend to the GameCube. This should have been a 3DS game with half the resources devoted to it. Not everything Miyamoto touches turns to gold you know.

Why can't we have Pokemon land? Or Mushroom Kingdom land? You know fully realised. Sure it might take a lot of time and hard work. But the Wii U's tech is more or less the same as other consoles which have been out for 5 years, plus Nintendo made tonnes of cash from the Wii and DS. I truely don't understand what they are afraid of! I guess all they care about now are balance sheets and cost effiency. Bring back Sega! Bring back Shenmue!!!

So third party developers can ditch the tablet and straight-up port games over to use this controller. Great! Just what all the Nintendo fans have been waiting for. This is a cop-out on Nintendo's part and shows that they do not believe 100% in their tablet controller.

@Sean_Aaron You supported Nintendo's efforts by buying The Last Story and then trading it in. So it's kind of like you erased the benefits of your purchase.

@Marz In my part of the world it is not possible to get Metal Slug Anthology for 10 bucks, or 10 euros or 10 pounds, or 10 anything. So I wouldn't say it was bad journalism, maybe if it was only going to be published in your country, but this is published for everyone to read on the internet.

@Wildfire I'm glad to see other people feel similarly to me. It's been too long since Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth (My favourite WiiWare game) and I want another one! On my 3DS!

I know I'm in the minority, but I hope it's not a Symphony of the Night style game, but a Rondo of Blood style game. I hate all the levelling up, backtracking and item management. I just want to play a real Castlevania game!

Right now, I'm pretty much done with Zelda. I hated Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass. If they made another good dark Zelda like Twillight Princess it would perk my interest, but they would have to change the formula. Zelda today feels like painting by numbers.
