All I really remember from GameCube's launch was Super Monkey Ball. Then by the time Mario Sunshine came out, everyone had PS2s.

Sounds good, but for 50 euros? I think it's very difficult to justify a purchase.

After playing the demo, I'm impressed by Rayman, but not sure if the 3DS version is the best. When there is that many colours on screen AND in 3D it makes my eyes a little squirly. Mario for example is much more cleary defined, so works well in 3D.

I did like it though with the 3D turned off. But I would reiterate what @mollutje said about the sound, it does seems glitchy, and to me, at little fuzzy.I do want this game, but have the suspicion that it's better suited to the Vita.

@Obvious78 MP3 was truly awesome. MP3, Twillight Princess, RE4 and SMG, made a believer out of me... Until I got bored of waiting for more games and buying crappy games instead so I bought a PS3 like you. I'm also ready for Nintendo to blow me away.

That was good. I liked the part where you asked him how long he kept his excitement for the Wii, and he was like oh a long time, up until... (and I thought me would say last year)... I got a 360 6 months later. lol

@Malic I know man. The NES, SNES and N64 were so far ahead their competition, it's not even funny.

Let's not not get technical about this. I'm just talking about "Wii" (a lot of people know "Wii" and don't even realise it's made by Nintendo). In 2008 Wii was cool with the masses, it was a buzz word. Everyone was saying it; from celebrities, to the royals, to politicians, it got mentioned in films "Just playing some Wii", it was brought out during the Oscars ceremony.... and so on. Do you see any of those things happening now? No. It's time to scrap that stupid name.

So i'm not saying that Wii and Ipad are directly comparable. I'm just saying that those people who were saying "Wii" are now saying "ipad". I hope you understand my point now.

Maybe you're right, but "Wii" as a fad is over, soccer mums are now buying ipads. Also, a lot of Xbox and PS3 gamers, who would be in the market for a next-gen console, associate "Wii" with casual gaming. That's the main reason I'd like to see a new name.

Why? What's the appeal of playing Mario with a Mii? It makes no sense.

Not much to get excited about. I wonder what Tekken it is? And I don't like the name New Super Mario Brothers. Mii. In fact, I wish they'd drop the whole "Wii" gimmick, I think Apple has stolen the "Wii market" anyway, and Nintendo needs to move away from that name.

I prefer to play my games sitting on an armchair or on the couch, not hunched over a desk like i'm putting together a model airplane.

The reason Twillight Princess performed relatively better is because everything , and I mean everything, about Twillight Princess was better than Skyward Sword.

The controls in Twillight Princess were better.

Nintendo gamers bored of Mario!? Just buy a Vita.

It was much better if you had a six button MegaDrive controller. Which I did, two of them

I do want to play this game, but I don't want to have to erect a stand and sit at a table to play on my 3DS. So I'll pass.

I could do with a few more games for it that take advantage of all it's capabilities, not necessarily made by Nintendo. Maybe I expected too much, but I thought that it would take off a whole lot more.

I agree that LBP2 deserves to beat Skyward Sword. But, Peggle beating SMB3DL is an absolute joke. As is Batman winning best action game.

I doubt I'll ever play this game. £9.00 seems very unreasonable and Nintendo never have sales.

@James Mega Games 1 was like the 90's version of The Orange Box.

@Tsuchinoko Yes, the battery life was disasterous. They really had no right in marketing it as a portable games console, let alone a portable television as well. The only game I really liked was Sonic, but I didn't play enough to make a fair judgement.

I was the same. Until I experienced Goldeneye. That's what turned me, well that, and the 32X, Mega CD and Sega Saturn. Sega must have thought kids in the West were millionaires!

Kind of wierd where gaming is going: if you look at most gaming websites most people are crticizing COD and offering Skyrim as the deep gaming alternative. For me, both alternatives are bad. I think these are the kind of experiences that are more and more going to be associated with AAA gaming. The Xbox is going to rule the living room, and Sony and Nintendo will be left fighting over more niche markets. Very sad.

If you go to 4.49 he says "It's going to be a lot better with the 360 and the PS3." You should edit your article. He also mentions PS3 on another occasion, so it looks like it will be on both HD platforms.

I feel a bit sorry for NintendoLife reviewers. They must be counting the days until the Wii U comes out, so they actually have some decent games to review. Though I guess it's not coming out until Feb/March next year. I hope you guys have other games consoles to review games for!

Not the kind of game I would usually give a chance to. But as a freebie this game was excellant and now I want more WarioWare games.

Don't feel bad guys. Girls like the Wii too you know, and their games are very affordable. I think that explains the chart.

Excellant review by @drake as usual, but once again he neglects to mention just how frustratingly difficult the game is. I guess we should be grateful that you don't complain that it's a little too easy

I used to buy WiiWare games, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

Deserves a 10. Even if you don't like puzzle games, this one will win you over.

3DS + Super Mario 3D Land would be my personal recommendation for a Nintendo gift. I can't see anyone being disappointed with that on xmas morning, or for weeks to come.

Retro City Rampage is now an XBLA game, so you won't be seeing that for a while (unless you have an Xbox).

@Garf13ld this is not the same as the ps3 and 360 versions.

@siavm Actually Driver: San Francisco is good on other platforms + Farcry 3 looked really good at E3. So they are making good games, perhaps not on Nintendo platforms though. You're right about them milking Assasin's Creed, I'm going to skip it this year.

Edit: Forgot the new Rayman game. That looks good too.

Could be good. I doubt Namco would do a Ubi and put out a pile of stinking you know what for the 3DS version.

Why didn't they put a second stick on the 3DS in the first place? This is a classic case of Nintendo ignoring 3rd parties and then paying the consequences.

Saying that, I would probably buy a new version of the 3DS, how it was supposed to be, with 2 sticks. The current 3DS has bad build quality, if they rectified that as well, then I would definately buy it.
