Re: Features: Things We Miss About the 8-Bit Era

Weskerb

Very interesting article.

About finishing games; it reminds me of Altered Beast, a game i got boxed in with the Mega Drive. I could never get passed the 3rd level! I didn't know anyone that could! Naturally I thought that was because I was useless and lived in a backwards area with little skill.

Since you transform into a beast, dragon and bear in the first 3 levels. We could only imagine what happend later on. I miss those days of wonder...

Of course now I know that you simply transform into the same three alterations and the levels just become more and more unfair. But back in the day, my imagination was full and the game was amazing. In a way, I miss not finishing games, as finishing a game is hardly ever as satisying as wondering what could be on the road ahead. Just like good old Altered Beast.

Yeah I think I'm done with Wii Party games in general. But if it gets a good buzz at launch and builds momentum I still might pick it up .

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube)

I'm not a big fan of the series and if it wasn't Nintendo mascots fighting it out I would have no interest at all. Saying that I think Melee is the best one so far and one of the definitive titles on the GameCube.

Btw I really liked the lead-in of this review.

"All instalments will be included in this super package, enjoy the classic platform action from the 80s and step up to the new ones"

Does that mean Super Mario All Stars? Ok I'm sorry, ignore my last comment. I guess it wasn't explicit enough for me on my first reading.

You guys all seem so happy, I don't mean to rain on your parade or anything but did you know that all these games are already available in the West! I know! I can't believe you didn't know that! I have proof: just go to "Wii Shop" and search "Mario" and I'm sure you find them.
