Re: Let's Educate Parents About Mature Titles, Suggests Game-Loving Teacher

Vader_MIB

When i bought a PS4 for my nephews last Christmas, i made sure their parents, who are absolutely not gamers, understand that there is an age rating on games. I told them they must follow this rule, as not being aware of modern days games. Just because they are not knowledgeable, there is an age rating to help them, and so they can at least rely on something.
For those who just don't believe the stories, when i was a kid, it took me some time to forget about Predator movie. And this was a movie, less immersive than games.
And don't tell me than even as adults, you sometimes do not think of JAWS when going for swimming.
My kids will play Nintendo. And if their friends tell them COD is so good, i will invite all those to have evening Splatoon party.

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

I don't think Nintendo needs any advertisement from Youtubers to sell their games. They make enough buzz before being released, to be sold out day one. So, unlike other AAA games and other publishers, Nintendo does not need them. So why bother. Efforts, creativity and every penny comes from Nintendo at the beginning, it is then fair enough that others don't make money on that.

Re: Feature: Celebrating 25 Years Of A Legendary Final Fantasy Title

Vader_MIB

@ChessboardMan Final Fantasy Adventure. Remaked as Sword of Mana on GBA.
Final Fantasy Legend 2 is one of my best RPG memory. The story is so good to live, traveling to so many places, and top musics. The final boss was tough !
I still own FFA, FF Legend 1, 2 and 3. And I all imported them to France when I was a kid. Not easy but those games !

Re: Capcom Expects A Significant Decline in Packaged Games Come 2017

Vader_MIB

Just to share my very recent experience regarding digital. Yesterday, i played Dragon's Crown on my Vita, which memory card contains saves from hard copies of games but also several digitally bought titles. In my evening commute by bus, my memory card just crashed. Vita was ignoring it or restarting every 5 minutes saying memory card was removed... So I lost my saves and digitally bought games. For the games, it is OK. They are linked to my Sony account.
But what if my 3DS dies and i cannot transfer the games (because they are linked to a system, not an account)...? Lost. Money lost, time lost...
So i was quite reluctant to buy digital copies, but i did following several very interesting deals and wanting some games like Friday Monsters. Now, I will do only for very cheap games, most probably on phones. For the rest, either hard copy, or too bad for the editor, but no game. I want Ace Attorney, but i won't buy it. Simple. Too much torture for the customer.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

Vader_MIB

@rsaleh12
The good job is true for their own games. Totally untrue for 3rd party games for which you are just unlucky if you are not from Japan or at least from the US. Nice consideration for customers. And instead of spending my money on my 3DS, i already shifted part of my game consumption to the Vita. Not long before i just switch completely.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

Vader_MIB

So if i want Code of Princess in France, i have to download it and cannot have the boxed version as in the US. And what about Etrian Odyssey IV we are still waiting for ? (The 2 and 3 on DS were even never released in Europe, so God bless the non region locked DS ! Same with Radiant Historia). I just bought Muramasa Rebirth for my Vita from the US and i pre ordered Dragon's Crown. I am very happy with Sony's position of NON region lock for the Vita. I will end playing with my 3DS and switch to the Vita in some days thanks to high consideration from Nintendo for European players...
And why all of a sudden locking the 3DS after the DS, GBA and GB not having this restriction...?
Ah, and i forgot the nice localisation of Devil Summoner recently. You wait, long, and you end with a bugged version of a game! Yeah, marvellous.
