Re: Review: FlingSmash (Wii)

ToastyYogurt

Maybe Nintendo bundled a Wiimote Plus with it because they thought it was weak and they wanted to boost sales?

But if that's the case, why didn't they reject the game? Or Artoon?

Re: Feature: Slipped Disk - The History of the Famicom Disk System

ToastyYogurt

And it seems that before the Wii, something bad happen to Nintendo whenever they used or tried to make a disk format, whether it's with floppy disks or CDs.
When Nintendo made the Famicom Disk System, it and the disks would always break.
When Nintendo teamed up with Sony to try to make a Super Nintendo CD system, it ultimately ended up with the creation of the PlayStation (not that the PS was bad, but it created competition for Nintendo)
When Nintendo made the 64DD, it failed miserably.
When Nintendo created the Gamecube, it lost in terms of sales to the PS2 and XBox.

Re: Wii Speak's Time is Officially Over

ToastyYogurt

@qsdsd: Yes, it did. Everyone knows that. Or are you trying to say something else?

@Everybody saying something like "I need to pick it up fast!" or "Darn it, I just bought one last month.": Not only is the Wii Speak not being discontinued like the update says, but even if it did get discontinued, it will still work in your games. They wouldn't be able to drop support for it anyway unless they took the entire game server down, which wouldn't happen if the game got discontinued either.

@9 and 10: Since Conduit 2 has been reported to allow talking to random people, I'm guessing this game will too. Although I don't get why people want to talk to random people online like that when you don't even know the people you are talking too at all unless you are playing against friends.

Re: DS to Have Life After 3DS, says Nintendo

ToastyYogurt

@Zranoll: The DS was supposed to be just a "third pillar," existing along with the GBA. Then when Nintendo realized there was no more sales to be gotten out of the GBA, they phased it out. So, in a sense they did say the same thing about the GBA.

@SuperPeach: Yeah, I was thinking when the 3DS came out, Nintendo would move it's DS projects to the 3DS and tell everybody else to do the same like they did with the GCN after the Wii's launch.

Re: Rumour: Cell Chip Could Power Wii Successor

ToastyYogurt

@JesusSaves: Do you REALLY want to have games span over 1,000 floppy disks that you would have to change every 5 minutes of game play? Floppy disks might have been great at one time, but the fact that they can only store a crumb of information compared to flash drives makes them obsolete.

Re: Surprise! Pikachu DSi Charger Coming to North America

ToastyYogurt

@JumpMad: Well, the charger that comes with the DSi is just a cord, this is something you can put on your desk and pop your DSi in whenever you aren't playing it. And even if Pikachu can poop money, it would still be pointless because it's charging your money printer, isn't it?

Re: See 3DS's Menu, Mii Creator and More in Motion

ToastyYogurt

@VGC: I'm sure a cord will be included for emergencies (like when you're at a friends house and your battery runs out). I like the charging station, it seems like a great deal to get a charging station included with the thing; most companies ignore that and let third parties make charging stations. And it seems like a great place to put my DSi when I'm home and not playing it. Not only does it give you an easy way to charge, but if you put it in there whenever you're home and not playing, you'll always know where it is!

Re: Yes, You Can Transfer DSiWare to 3DS

ToastyYogurt

@PSIC0ffee: Animal Crossing: City Folk doesn't delete your Wild World data if you just move your character to the game. It's only copied. I copied my WW character to CF and I was able to play WW afterward.

Re: Yes, You Can Transfer DSiWare to 3DS

ToastyYogurt

YES! This pretty much addresses the only concern I had with the 3DS. I don't think there will be any real restrictions except for the DSi Internet Browser, which wouldn't matter anyway because this thing has it's own browser, and the only reason I could see people transferring the DSi Internet Browser to the 3DS is to see how it runs on the 3DS.

Re: See 3DS's Menu, Mii Creator and More in Motion

ToastyYogurt

Sweet. This video was pretty much a way of telling me "Buy this on day one." I guess I got to listen to it.

@BishBashJosh: If you're talking about the way the top screen area is black and the rest of the system is blue, get the black 3DS. The thing is all black, so it doesn't look ugly. I'm perfectly fine with the way the 3DS looks, but I'll be buying the black because black is awesome.

Re: First Cave Story DSiWare Screenshots

ToastyYogurt

@Slapshot: What do you mean, bugs in the freeware version? I've almost played through the entire freeware game (not including the sanctuary, I'm on the final boss) and I haven't found any bugs. Maybe the version you got was broken for some reason.

Re: Hands On: PlayOn

ToastyYogurt

I guess this would be a cool program, but I want to know how the video looks through a component cable. Watching YouTube on the Wii with a component cable doesn't look very good.

Re: Super Mario Collection Special Pack Revealed

ToastyYogurt

While I think it would be better to remake all of those games with the New Super Mario Bros. style instead of pretty much porting a SNES game to Wii via disc rather than VC, I think it's worth it for the soundtrack. I would love to have music from every Mario game ever. And the booklet looks pretty cool too. DO WANT!
