@UmniKnight It is a rumour they did that. It isn't impossible that others (such as Nintendo studios) wanted that too, or that it had become so cheap it wouldn't make sense to not include more ram.
@Octane exactly this, although I wouldn't bank on a Switch version of world. In 2013, they wouldn't even know if there even was a successor to Wii U in the pipeline. On top of that, Capcom doesn't have the most stable financials. They need to have MH on a console performing well. It is a much less risky proposition to have it on ps4/xbox/PC than it is to have it on either an old architecture (3ds) or an unknown (NX, which wasn't even announced at the moment) or a failing console (Wii U).
When a company starts development of a new title they need to see into the future and how it looks when they release the game. The switch hadn't been announced and the Wii u had flopped. While 3ds has a big user base, it is practically ancient and is on the way out. They probably predicted it would be dead at this time. Xbox and PS4 was the least risky proposition with big user bases.
Capcoms financial isn't that stable, they can't afford to gamble on unreleased hardware if they want to stay in business.
@mikegamer Oh, i agree. If you use these stuff more sparsly, it would have had far more impact when it happens. Just because they are r-rated, doesn't mean they need to have r-rated material all the time. As it is now, it feels juvenile.
@mikegamer they want to be animated game of thrones. What they forgot was that while got is gory, it is often warranted (especially in the earlier seasons).
I for example don't mind impaled heads or demons tearing babies apart. That is relevant to show their ruthlessness. But many instances were just 'look at us, we can be gritty'.
I also think the church was too one dimensional. They could have added a bit more flesh to them, to me they were written worse than bad guys from any modern kids cartoon.
Dracula's story is fine. I like that he have a real motive.
@Maxz yeah, the RPG elements are just a side thing. It is the tactical and strategic elements that are the main focus. The combat is a lot about gaining advantage over the battlefield, such as taking cover, removing cover, flanking or height advantage. And it seems all of those elements are present in M+R.
I don't agree with you on Nvidia being any worse than AMD. I have own both and have always had more trouble running games on AMD. Granted, I haven't had an AMD chipset since 2012.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE it needs less cooling because of the finfet 16nm process, not the architecture. This may very well be the newer process so that is a moot point.
@Arehexes it was an ad where they stated they work for pay equality between men and women. Which apparently is horrible, insidious and the devil's work.
I would be sad if it cancelled. Sure they have a pushy model for earning money, but it is the only rpg suitable for a 7-year old in our native tongue. This alone makes it very accessible outside English speaking countries.
I have never understood those that complain about sub-60fps on consoles. If you are that concerned about smooth frame rates, why do you own a console? On PC you can make most games run at 60 fps.
Not only that, you can customize most things. You can chose resolution, you can chose frame rate and you can chose how much you want to spend on graphical power.
And it isn't even any harder than a console to operate in todays world.
Guys you are missing one key stat, Pokemon GO accounts for about 1/3 of in-app revenues of ALL mobile games. In-app purchases are estimated to be a 23 Billion dollar market in 2016. This is nothing to sneeze at.
The problem is that Pokemons most likely spawn where there are many people, this is a flawed concept. If I am talking a walk in the woods, it would be nice if they could spawn there. I think it also would be better if you had a bigger chance to catch something rare there, but that is just me.
@Lizuka except that it does hurt people. If you have the rarest and best Pokémons you will have an easier time taking over and defending gyms. And the gyms is the only way to get coins for free. So it does hurt the honest people.
The problem is that tools like this can put quote a strain on servers. It basically fetches player data in a much larger quantity which might lead to slow servers and people having trouble logging in.
I trust that niantic will fix the in game tracker, but they are not a large company so it might take them a bit longer. Ingress does have a portal map, so I wouldn't be surprised if something like that are on the horizon. Don't expect to see exactly where Pokémon are since hunting them down is a core feature.
Relax, UK will probably get an EEA agreement. Which means they will pay almost as much as now to EU, have to be part of the schengen area (which they aren't at the moment), will still need all regulations and will have no vote in new laws.
Also, economically it will most be felt in EU and mostly UK. The rest of the world, except companies which relies on heavy EU exports, will continue as usual.
@A01 of course they do. They actually pay more if they buy it on a plan. But most people don't understand that. And therefore they don't perceive it as expensive. I am a bit surprised Microsoft didn't try and do that with the xbone.
@TheLastLugia you are wrong about dungeon keeper, they haven't changed it, at least not because of legality. A uk court found that they had no mentions of in app purchases in their ads.
And no, it is the same principle. Make it hard to continue without paying. This is what nintendo means with free to start, dungeon keepers model. Which ea still calls free to play.
@TheLastLugia nintendo badge arcade gives you one free fetch each day, or if you want to play more you can pay. You can also get more through other means.
In candy crush you have lives which you lose after a lost level. If you want to play again, you have to pay a fee or wait.
@TheLastLugia "free-to-start" is a marketing term from Nintendo. Basically, "free-to-play" (f2p) has such bad reputation that they wanted to use another name. It is the same thing.

@Octane Yeah, a downscaled version could work. But I am not sure capcom will do it.

I hope they remove some of the edgy shock values. Not every series need to be game of thrones.

Re: Pokémon GO Has Lost 79 Percent of its Paying Population
If they (as in Nintendo/Pokemon Co) are smart, it would be wise to make Niantic implement Gen 7 pokemon and have them launch alongside Sun/Moon.
Also, I have no sympathy for cheaters in MMOs, which this very much is.

@-DEMISE- OK, give me a better source for your claim that you lose your copyright if you do not defend it. Either law texts or cases.

@-DEMISE- no, you are thinking about trademarks. A myth is still a myth even if you repeat it. See for example https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/stopping-internet-plagiarism/your-copyrights-online/3-copyright-myths/

Re: Rumour: Report Points to the Nintendo NX Potentially Monitoring Your Heart Rate
@JaxonH they got even more panned for the Kinect, which had this kind of feature. If it was only the online part, why did they remove Kinect?
Re: Rumour: Report Points to the Nintendo NX Potentially Monitoring Your Heart Rate
I can see some application of this. For example, instead of choosing a difficulty, the games adapts after how frustrated you are.
But this was one of the things xone tried too do, and they got panned.
