Unexpectedly disappointing. I had high hopes. A Zelda collection would have been great to see. I appreciated the BOTW 2 update, but there was nothing else that interested me. (including the dull Smash announcement.)
Remove the plot and it's a very dull game with only so much to do. But the plot and the unique experience make it worth it for non-fans IMO. The ability to fly around is a treat and something I've wanted to see in a game for a long time.
Truly surprised that no new Switch or Zelda collection was revealed. Not too surprised by the lack of Donkey Kong, but I was hoping a new one would be shown. I was also hoping for some sort of new 2D Mario, but the lack of one doesn't bother me. (A "New Mario All Stars" with remakes of SMB1, Lost Levels, SMB2, SMB3, and SMW would be so incredible.)
One good thing I can say - I can already tell BOTW 2 is exactly what I wanted it to be.
Still have high hopes that Ocarina of Time 3D/Majora's Mask 3D/Wind Waker/Twilight Princess all make it to the Switch.
Really hoping this turns out to be a full-scale 3D game. If there's any series that's begging for an open-world title, it's the Donkey Kong series. It would be so great to travel through a huge world space with either the Kong characters or the animal companions. I can still enjoy the old Donkey Kong Country games due to how everything controls, and getting that in a 3D game is something I've been waiting to see for a long time.
Just to focus on a single pick, I have to say Mega Man 64 is my personal favorite. MMX was my first game and I know X2 and X3 like the back of my hand, but Legends is the only series I strongly want to revisit. Mega Man and Bass was also very good.
Not only would I love to see a KOTOR remake, I'd really love to see it come to Switch. I'm skeptical, but I'll be keeping an eye out to see what happens.
I honestly can't tell if this was an earnest attempt to make something with charm and personality or a shameless cash grab made with spite. But with how poorly the game turned out, I'm leaning towards the latter.
(not referring to minor gameplay issues that could have been resolved with more development time - I'm talking about the overall presentation. It feels like the game was made to appeal to children.)
I expect a certain level of quality from Nintendo games, and I've found that it's very rare when indie devs produce content that's on par or better than official Nintendo content.
It would be ideal for the 3D Zeldas to be properly remade, but at the same time, I think the 3D remasters look fine and still hold up well. If they are ported over to the switch - preferably in a dual release with both games on one Switch cart, I'd be satisfied.
Really hoping it happens because I never got the 3DS and I'd much rather check those games out on the Switch.
having already tried out a similar control scheme with an emulator, I can say that controlling the sword with a thumbstick feels great - so great that I'd love to see similar controls added to future games. Don't know if it's ever been done before in other games, but I'm surprised it isn't more common.
(one thing I'll say is I'm fairly disappointed they didn't also add camera controls, and they could have easily done so by making camera movement with the right thumbstick the default function, and then sword movement with the right thumbstick and the R shoulder button held down.)
Nothing would make me happier than seeing Ocarina of Time HD, Majora's Mask HD, Skyward Sword HD, Wind Waker HD, and Twilight Princess HD all on one cart. A big chunk of the Zelda timeline in one package.
But since that will never happen, I'd be just as happy to see those five games in three separate but similar releases. Skyward Sword HD on one cart (with traditional controls), the 3DS games on another cart, and the Wii U HD releases on the last cart.
I find it very interesting how it seems a majority of the fan base insisted that people were being childish and immature by voicing their displeasure about the inclusion of Steve, and now it seems more than half of the fan base is perfectly content to dunk on Geno fans now that he's essentially deconfirmed.
So pleased to see The Lost Vikings ranked so highly (when I expected it to not even be on the list). Such a unique game and it's a shame the series has been lost to time.
However...very surprised to see that Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana isn't on the list at all. I guess not enough people were aware of it. A shame, because it's definitely worthy of the top 10
Hope you all don't mind if I take a little trip down memory lane here...
Chrono Trigger, 10/10. All-around amazing game. Only complaint - I wish there had been more of it. Such an interesting world.
DKC 1 & 2, 9/10. DKC 3, 10/10. I realize a lot of people think 2 is the best. Personally, I prefer 3, even though it was the most unconventional of the three.
EarthBound, 10/10. I just wish it didn't feel so tedious. But it's all worth it in the end.
Mega Man X 1-3, 10/10. Will never forget these games. Still disappointed that X or Zero couldn't be added to Smash Ultimate.
Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 3, 10/10. Both amazing, both high on my favorites list. Biased towards SD 3 - it still amazes me how much content they packed into a SNES game.
Super Mario All-Stars, 10/10. This one gradually climbed higher into my favorites list over time. I don't think it gets enough credit for having remakes of four different Mario games along with a slightly updated SMW. It's the early history of Mario in one package. Can't complain about that. (well, I can't at least.)
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, 10/10. Still love it. It's a great treat traversing through an alternate interpretation of the Mario world.
Super Metroid, 10/10. I played it later in life and have zero nostalgia for it. But man oh man, what a great game. And "great" is an understatement.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, 10/10. Hardly my favorite Zelda game and I think it could be improved (mostly with a more diverse soundtrack and better graphics). But I recognize how great it is.

Re: Kazuya From Tekken Is The Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Fighter
@Luigivaldo I mean, he's great in Tekken. I'd just rather see Jin for all of the potential matchups that can occur in Ultimate.

couldn't care less. Would have greatly preferred Jin.
Re: 'Retired' Sonic Voice Actor Announces His Surprise Return To The Role
so I haven't actually played any Sonic games since '06, but I think it's great that this guy is back on as Sonic. I think his rendition is solid.

Strange how this clearly would have been one of the best N64 games, but happens to be a fairly forgettable Gamecube game.
