Re: You Must See These Nano Assault 3DS Screenshots

Man that looks good... Hopefully the shooting action will be a little more solid and modernized this time around (Nanostray games were great, just not quite enough bullet density for my bullet-hell-ish tastes)

Pretty sure this is an autobuy though.

Re: First Impressions: FAST - Racing League

@warioswoods - seriously.

There's a part of me that wants to see what they'd be capable of developing for PS3/360/PC...but at any rate, it's nice to have one consistently excellent, Nintendo-only third party.

Re: Review: Chrono Trigger (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

SwerdMurd

/sigh - I own every version, yet I'm guaranteed to buy this one.

Why must I continue to spend my hard earned money on the same product? Why don't I have willpower? Why am I putting 1000 points on my Wii for the first time in a year while I'm typing this?

Be back in 15 or so hours.

Re: Got an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3?

SwerdMurd

@billy, @majora - I'm somewhat active on Movemodo despite still not owning a move. Good community and good reviews--and (sorry NL) an even better layout/forum, despite the comparative lack of content.

Re: A Dragon Quest Collection for Wii Draws Near!

@mickey - III really isn't any more linear than 2 was...it's just longer. There's more pre-boat and more post-boat. 1, however, was crazy non-linear....sure--going to certain areas before you were leveled enough to do so was suicide, but literally nothing except the final dungeon was off-limits to a level 1 character.

Re: Japanese Hardware / Software Sales Show the 3DS Needs a Boost

@Guardian - I was under the impression that uprising would be out sometime this summer with the rest of those "close to launch window" titles....but now it appears no one has any idea when it's releasing. Amazon's page says Dec 31, 2020, so I think it's safe to say we'll be getting it at least a little earlier than that

Re: Feature: Lads of the Rising Sun

I used to type in BASIC games from magazines too! Ahhh...I miss Gorillas and CIA Agent. Well, not CIA Agent so much... (text-based adventure games were, are and will always be terrible )

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd May 2011 (North America)

SwerdMurd

Give us Thunder Spirits! Or the Genesis Thunder Force games....those were Jaleco right?

And yeah...Rival Turf really isn't that bad, but given that Final Fight 3 is one of the best 2d beat em ups period and is already available, I dunno how much attention it will get...

Re: Redbox Game Rentals Go Nationwide in June

SwerdMurd

i'm surprised so many people think 2 bucks a night is too expensive....I personally think 99 cents a night (given that's what movies cost) would be severely undervaluing the games in question. Games retail, new, for 60 bucks. Movies are what...20 in DVD form now? By that logic, they should be priced at a 3:1 ratio, not a 2:1 ratio.

Regardless I dunno if I'll actually make use of game rentals, as I'm mostly a buy person. If I did though, it'd be utilizing a service like this. Rent in the morning, play all day, take it back earlier than I got it the following morning. Not a bad way to spend a day off of work.

Re: Super Mario 3DS Combines Galaxy and Mario 64, Out This Year

SwerdMurd

how are "completely original" and "combines Galaxy and Mario 64" even allowed to exist in the same article? Doesn't sound bad or anything...but if it were controlled in 4d with your feet and starred a French Guy named Croissant who worked at a nail salon and shot gummybears from a magic wand, I could see the originality claim holding merit.

I have this great idea! Totally original Castlevania game--it's gonna have a whip and play like a combination of Castlevania 3 and Rondo of Blood. Totally original.

Re: Ocarina of Time 3D Gets Boss Rush Mode and Helpful Videos

SwerdMurd

the couple super-guides i actually watched took super-boring playthroughs of the levels anyway....they really didn't spoil anything. Zelda super-guide, however.... I dunno--we'll see how it works I guess, and I suppose it'll be nice for the friggin' water temple's stupid-hidden keys (esp. on MQ mode)

Re: Ocarina of Time 3D Gets Boss Rush Mode and Helpful Videos

SwerdMurd

Boss Rush you say?

Can't imagine a Zelda Boss Rush being all that engaging given that very little of the boss-fighting is very reflex-based and is all slow pattern memorization/execution. There also aren't any difficulty settings....still--the closer to Ys this series gets, the better imo.

I consider it a good addition.
