@NEStalgia But u currently have no evidence that Stadia will provide a "broken experience" unless you r currently Beta testing it..not every game will cost $60...and people won't have 2 buy that "expensive" console which needs updating every few years...lol even Microsoft and Sony have teamed up recently 2 focus primarily on "cloud based services"...Under normal circumstances that would never happen.
@Yorumi Mmm yes but remember that's a few million units in less than 3 years (and that's just one product), it's only starting to pick up pace now, this "scene" has far bigger potential than 3d TV and comparing it to a console from a company that has been in existence for more than a hundred years is unrealistic...keeping in mind that is their "core product". Sony has just submitted numerous patent designs for their upcoming PSVR2 including "eye tracking", lol its much more than a passing fad...what insurmountable things r u referring to ?, I'm intrigued...
@NEStalgia The technical aspects of how each service is delivered may differ although they are both considered as "streaming" and even Netflix as it stands is not perfect cos u still often get a poor quality picture, freezing, lag, latency or whatever u wish 2 call it...In comparing it to Netflix I was attempting to say that many thousands of people dismissed it originally but it's still going, and going strong...Google may not have the "perfect solution" but that does not mean it will not sell as there is potentially a massive market unless "streaming" would not even exist (in any state or form)...somebody has 2 give it a shot 2 begin with...and in any event Stadia has not even been launched so we are merely just speculating the performance levels...or would u prefer they just leave it alone ?.
@Krazzar lol that was a long time ago, VR has come a long long way since then, the current current PSVR headset has moved over 4 million units and Facebook's Oculus Quest recently sold $5 million of content in its first two weeks on the market...to say "less desirable" and "gambling" is a slight over exaggeration...believe me it's far from "niche" and many many people r interested in it...just take a quick glance at YouTube (for example) and u will c a huge amount of content. But clearly ur mind is already made up and nobody can change that.
@Heavyarms55 Yes different but the delivery method is the same, it's streamed 2 the user and as it stands the Netflix service is far from perfect as the picture also freezes, stutters and breaks up...latency and lag is an issue, always has been and always will b, but that won't deter people from using it...hopefully it won't b counted in seconds hey cos that wud just b a waste of time...apparently humans can even detect it in so many nanoseconds, if that's the case they'll never b able 2 keep everyone happy...
@Heavyarms55 But they have 2 start somewhere, people crucified Netflix in the initial years of release but in 2018 it was the most downloaded app in the world and has slowly started to decimate traditional cable or satellite services. I clearly hear, understand and even agree with what you r saying but there is a market for "game streaming" and it's a big market. I 2 enjoy collecting games, dvd's or whatever but the "modern way" is often 2 just play (or watch) something once and that's the end of it...its unfortunately "like that". Anyway any subscription service ends eventually and u always end up losing something, that's life I suppose.
@Krazzar Er u r incorrectly comparing streaming to VR, VR is currently "mainstream or as u say prime time" as many large corporations have and will continue 2 invest huge money in2 it, "game streaming" relatively speaking has just appeared on the scene but Virtual reality has and will b around for many a year 2 come.
@thedicemaster U must b a "lucky one" cos the Wi Fi antenna on the Switch has been widely criticised from day 1, even on this very site (by many readers)...there's all sorts of recommended "fixes" but as it stands "stock standard" from the box it's definitely not anything to rave about...
@HalBailman Yes it wud b interesting, wish we cud actually view all eshop sales every month right down to games that sell just 1 copy for example. But yeah I agree wit u the discounted games r decent and with so many games on offer a person can always wait a few weeks...
@Alucard83 Not sure exactly wat YouTube video u r referring 2 but general consensus indicates a November 2020 release, there's a lot of speculation tho around a date as Sony have not confirmed anything as yet.
@SwitchVogel And let's not 4get this is a 8yr old release that has sold 12 million copies just on PC...The profits made here must be enormous already...jeez greedy greedy...
@HalBailman Mmm I kinda hear u, wouldn't quite agree that we r prepared 2 pay a higher price, more like we r not really left with much option (apart from buying another console, PC etc) if we only choose 2 play games on the Switch...Nintendo is notoriously priced "high" and it's just like that, it's everyone's personal choice 2 support them or not...I support them but don't always enjoy 2 pay more.
@Dm9982 Everything is more expensive at Nintendo, I'm here in South Africa and the pricing is insane, but in the eshop a lot of discounts can b found away from the triple AAA titles...personally I just prefer 2 play on the Switch as opposed a mobile phone...but I agree with wat u say, it's a bit of a joke 2b honest how they just overcharge us...
Played thru Grand Prix Story once (it's not that long) but they mention at the end of the 1st play thru that certain game features wud "change" if u play another game (a 2nd play thru), I did not play for a 2nd time tho...its fairly addictive, not that difficult and fairly enjoyable...personally speaking they do wat they do fairly well and if it's "your scene" then u shud try at least 1 of their games.
@CaPPa I hear u loud and clear, look out for "Tea for God",that's gonna satisfy your "thirst"...The upcoming PSVR2 is gonna b insane, Sony have been talking just now about Gran Turismo potentially supporting VR play...gulp..
@NEStalgia Thanks u've educated me and made some valid points, btw South Africa is actually quite a large country (25th ranked by area) and has a large population (24th ranked) although it can't even be remotely compared to the States cos that's enormous and in another league...anyway 2 whatever extent it may be we will probably all have 2 suffer "cloud gaming", right now we r not even on the list for initial Stadia rollout, probably wave 2 hey lol, I'm personally not for or against it but will probably get "suckered" in as per usual...here's 2 the future...
@NEStalgia In South Africa the majority of the resedential areas already have fiber, huge layout has recently taken place...why would the US b lagging so far behind all of a sudden ?.
Mmm those colours, that small screen and no screen cover or clamshell, seems 2b a rush job Imo, Bowser even hinted at that by saying "They've observed how people play the Switch", as soon as that data was collated by the Marketing department it was all systems go 2 get it into production. If the data showed more people play it docked what wud they have done ?, probably nothing.
@Giygas_95 Agree but they need 2 "take a look" at the Joycons which are notoriously "average"...at least it's still got touchscreen 2 fall back on cos I can hardly afford 2 change em...
Here in Africa unfortunately u can't take your Switch outside of the house because it will get stolen, if u r very lucky u will never get your mobile pinched at least once every couple of years, it's reality...its sad...
