UK chart data is now in for the week ending 6th July, revealing that Super Mario Maker 2 has managed to hold on to its position at number one for a second week.
The game saw just a 47% fall in sales in its second week, helping it to stay above its nearest competitor Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. It was actually a very decent week for Switch all around, with a number of evergreen games achieving top ten positions.

I'm going to make a crazy prediction and say week 3 will be the same.
I wonder how long until MK8 Deluxe takes over CTR in the charts.
Have to say I thought it would be more of a fight but MK8 is a beast.
Amazing to see Zelda back in the top 10.
It might not be a surprise to see it hold number one without completion but a drop of only 47% is very impressive. Standard week 2 drop is usually between 80% and 90%
the Switch must be doing well here, good news this! preordered them both as we knew what we were getting before they came out, not been disappointed at all, will be playing them for a long time!
Guys, Nintedoomed. Only 4 games in the top ten. Clearly Nintendo is a fringe niche company that only appeals to children and fanboys. And look, Switch has no original content. Mario Maker, BotW, MK and SSB were all on Wii U, and look at how that system flopped!
Switch is done boys. Pack it in. Time to go all in on Google Stadia and mobile games! That's the future of gaming.

Picked up Mario Maker this week and its absolutely amazing even if you don't make levels (which I will do soon). The amount of brilliant levels I've already played is mind blowing and with a few tweaks this could be endless fun, namely Worlds and perhaps Nintendo adding levels they have built which aren't just demos as to how the game works (I haven't beat all the story yet so maybe they already exist), oh and ? blocks that recognise if you already have a super mushroom. As is it's just a 9.5 out of 10 😆

Just started SMM2 today, took a half day from work and everything. I'm not good at making levels, just like the first one, so I'm playing through the ready made courses.

Considering how badly Nintendo games tend to do in the UK market, when was the last time a 1st party Nintendo game achieved this feat of two consecutive weeks at number 1?

Only hardcore JRPGs (i.e Kingdom Hearts 3) or games with absolutely gigantic launch sales (i.e GTAV) have 80-90% 2nd week drops.

@BranJ0 New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe also achieved two weeks at the top earlier this year.
Great to see F1 still up there, Fantastic racer. Digital Foundry did a great analysis video on it... worth the watch.
Red Faction: Remarse sales must have really been irrelevant, didn't even get mentioned.
Hopefully, BloodStained will have a 2nd wind after it gets patched a bit.
