Last month, we found out the online multiplayer Switch game Tetris 99 would be receiving a physical release in Japan.
Now, a rating has appeared on the Australian Classification Board – essentially confirming a retail version of the game will also be released here in the west. Below is the classification:
The Japanese 'boxed edition' is expected to arrive on 9th August for 3,148 yen (approx $28 / £23). This version is said to include the main software, "additional content" for offline play and a 12-month subscription to Nintendo's online service. This seems like a great way to encourage more Switch owners to sign up to the online service.
Would you be interested in owning a boxed version of Tetris 99? Tell us down in the comments.

first comment. and that cool
@RedderRugfish I said it was cool that tetris 99 is going to have a disk copy.
it also said multi platform even though it's exclusive to Switch. Unless that means something else
@legendcoworker The Switch has cartridges, not disks
@ALinkttPresent I know, i just meant you can buy it in stores sorry if i was not saying it right.
@ALinkttPresent multi platform you say.. i may get it for ps4?
@legendcoworker Definitely not, the page also says that it's made by Nintendo. It was probably just an error
@ALinkttPresent you have a point a good point, it may be a error but then again it may not?
@ALinkttPresent Seems all of Nintendo’s games are classified as multi platform by the ACB, for example:

@legendcoworker Why would you buy it for PS4 when you could currently download it for free on Switch, albeit without offline play? And as in comment #9, I doubt it will come to PS4.
@Matthew010 i love nintendo but i only have a 3ds and i'm waiting for switch mini, it it ever happens
@Matthew010 oh and my 3ds think i'm think i'm holding the r button down
This guarantees a physical release as there would be no reason for Nintendo to apply for a traditional peer-reviewed classification otherwise.
@legendcoworker @ALinkttPresent : "Multi platform" means nothing on the Australian Classification Board website. Games such as Super Mario Odyssey and even Farm Simulator for Nintendo Switch are listed as "Multi platform".
My understanding is that this game has been commissioned by Nintendo themselves (and is reflected in the fact that they are the applicant for the classification and have therefore paid for it), so it won't be coming to other platforms, at least not any time soon.
I'm not paying any DLC, then, because it looks like it'll all come in the cart when it gets released.
Good old Tetris.
