Re: Don't Expect Announcements From Nintendo at CES 2011

SilverBaretta

It's all part of a business that will undoubtedly net them one billion....bajillion...quarillion....fradillion.......yen.

Series-spanning jokes aside, Chunky probably has it right, there will definitely be industry leaders there, and a chance to show them their new tech, as well as attract business partners, is a fine move on Nintendo's part.

Pff, Zoidberg wouldn't do anything to help these penguins.

Nice review, Chicken Phil, it seems like while the developers were trying to make something great, a few things missed their mark.

Re: Review: Tetris Party Live (DSiWare)

Couldn't you technically have quote-unquote "local" multiplayer using the Wi-fi mode simply by sharing friend codes, being in the same room, and using the same wireless signal? Althought that would be a problem for people with no wireless internet, which I know is still a problem for a lot of people.

Either way, nice review, Corbie, I may grab this next time I have a chunk of change to spend.

Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)

SilverBaretta

I expected great reviews around the board as soon as I saw that it was Game Informer's Game of the Month. That was enough to make me think "Dang, this is one great game if it beats out the big HD offerings they love so much." Great review Corbs, and awesome job, Retro Studios!

Re: Review: 21: Blackjack (DSiWare)

SilverBaretta

Ooh, me likey Blackjack. Wait, no multiplayer and you have to reset your stats when you go bankrupt? Neither of those apply in real life! The deal's off, I'll stick with Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics.

Re: Cave Story Hits DSiWare November 29th

SilverBaretta

I guess this means I'll be owning both the WiiWare and DSiWare versions, mostly because I may actually get more play time out of this version. I tend to boot up some DSiWare when I have my DS on but am done playing the retail game that's in it.

Re: Review: Sonic Colours (Wii)

SilverBaretta

I love this game something fierce. Great review James, very nice. I still like Adventure 2 just a teensy bit more, but that's mostly because I've memorized the majority of it. (Sonic and Shadow's stages anyway) I liked a lot of the music, actually, particularly the Planet Wisp and Aquarium Park themes, but sometimes it is a little bland, mostly the Sweet Mountain theme. I just didn't get a "giant world of sweets" vibe from it. In closing, keep it going, Sonic Team, you're getting you're groove back!

(Also, do what Raylax said, James, the reward is awesome on many levels )

Re: Review: GoldenEye 007 (DS)

SilverBaretta

@Nintendoftw: Have you played it? It's quite justified.

While I knew this was coming to DS, (there's a section on the official website dedicated to it, people) I couldn't help but feel like Eurocom had the better end of the deal on who developed what. Looks like I was right. Still, a 7 is a pretty solid score.

Re: Review: GoldenEye 007 (Wii)

I was wondering if you were gonna be the one reviewing this, Jon. Well, I agree with the score, and I definitely agree about the lack of host migration. While your Wiimote-Nunchuk control suggestion is tempting, I think my Gamecube controller is what I'll stick with. Good review.

Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (WiiWare)

SilverBaretta

Well worth the 1500 points for me. It's got enough replayability to keep me occupied, as well. Very much a download for everyone to enjoy. thumbsup Great review, too James, I would definitely agree with the score and all of your points. Come on, Episode 2 and 3, and Colors too, for sure!

Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion (GameCube)

SilverBaretta

A truly underrated Gamecube great. Between it's great atmosphere, it's tight controls (which admittedly took until the 2nd Act to truly get used to), incredibly addicting gameplay, and it's fleshing out of a character we originally didn't think a lot about, Luigi's Mansion is one of my favorites and will probably always will be worth just one more playthrough every time it's finished.
