Re: Iwata Hits Out at Smartphone and Social Network Game Developers

As much as I do like Apple (yeah, yeah), I honestly can't see them overtaking an industry that they weren't even focused on in the first place. It's not like they have a division especially for creating video game hardware. That's just one slice of the pie. Gaming on their hardware is just a nice way to kill a few minutes, but people are analyzing it and taking it like everybody sits down and plays their phone for hours on end. I don't know a single person who does that, and if they do, I feel rather sorry for them. Sure there's money in this "quick and easy" game thing now, but once something new comes along, people will flock to that. The thing is, there will be a quick period of the older thing losing popularity and the other not quite at juggernaut status yet. And you know who will still be in it in that short period of transition? Consoles. And that would be the time to strike.

Awesome, have fun you guys! If I could make a specific request, could one of you pop in Super Mario 64 DS and see how well the Circle Pad fixes the oft-so-mentioned control "problem"? I'm interested to see how well it works...

Re: The Legend of Zelda is 25 Years Old Today

Oh, Legend of Zelda. My true gamer love. Where has the time gone? I can remember when we first met as if it was yesterday. The N64 was taking over my life. Ocarina of Time was the one game I knew all my friends had. I popped that sucker in and played the dickens out of it. Granted, with my younger thought pattern, puzzles were just barely solvable in my brain, but I persevered. Everyone else had become an adult already and were off to really start saving the world. I was nothing but a child, however, a speck just running around aimlessly. That is, until I got a guide that blasted me hours into the game in a fraction of the time, and before I knew it, that Master Sword was in my hands. I was so proud, even if I had technically cheated. Ever since then your wonderful adventures have carved a section in my heart I will never let go. Thanks for that, and I wish the series and Nintendo best luck with whatever great experiences lie in the future.

Re: Reggie Defends High Download Price Point

I agree that it's a huge risk, and it's a somewhat better business strategy for Nintendo to charge more, considering not as many people use the Nintendo download services as they do the App Store, but Apple does deserve some credit for making this it's iOS App stuff as big as it is, I guess. Then again, you generally pay more for the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad hardware then you do for Nintendo handhelds...
