That sentence is utterly ridiculous and helps sum up why Nintendo is losing the online marketplace. Their systems are totally convoluted.

Not only is the game selection mediocre, but the discounts themselves are pathetic. Not even 50% on most of them.

@PlywoodStick Well as far as I know, any sort of comprehensive formal training (starting at the undergraduate level) still does not really exist anywhere in the world. It's by and large self-taught.

I'll have to check out that video game sometime. And yes, 2100 is about the timeline we're looking at... perhaps a little sooner when people really start to panic.

Contrary to those analysts claims (which are notoriously inaccurate), the toys to life market is showing obvious signs of a slowdown. LEGO Dimensions, for example, has failed to take off with consumers as expected. Disney Infinity has had to regularly discount its premier Star Wars toys. And some Amiibo are starting to clog shelves.

Protect the children's innocent eyes from the human form while handing them a game about horror, fear and the supernatural occult! Makes perfect sense!

I think the T&A trumps the Nintendo nostalgia on this one. The Zelda and Samus outfits look totally, completely out of place in this universe. The lingerie less so, given how many hollywood horror movies have people running around in stupid skimpy ripped clothes.

@AdanVC The same twits at Nintendo of America who deliberately understock amiibos and kill Club Nintendo prematurely before the rest of the world.

They should have given a voucher for $5 off the amiibo to compensate. Or just delayed the whole thing and bundled the physical games and amiibo together.

They should have made more radical changes and toned down the difficulty in the regular game, it sounds like. It's funny how the Japanese version of Resident Evil had additional easy settings, but when it comes to JRPGs the localization situation is reversed.

I think it's the insufferable cutesy happy nature of this series holding back the animals giving a more balanced assessment. Personally, I think with a bit of work they could have made it charming and cute even if the animal wasn't happy with the room and expressed some reservations.

We slashed the budget and development time afforded to our newest Star Fox game but.... please understand.

Another nail in the coffin to New 3DS. It looks like beyond Xenoblade it simply won't be supported that much. Waste of money.

What's missing in this collection is the 300 battery backups the manufacturer forgot to install to allow you to save your progress in this massive game.

As though the next Nintendo console will be any better. Sure, it will have (slightly) more powerful specs, but it will still be a sales wasteland where third party games go to die. That's the unfortunate truth of the matter.

I'm very sick of Nintendo's lies on this matter. I have stopped purchasing Amiibo and will be selling what I own. They overplayed their artificial shortage hand once too often.

Nintendo's IP is SERIOUS STUFF folks. On the same day that people in Africa died of malnutrition and animals were experimented on in labs and killed for people's entertainment, this little iOS game is what's most newsworthy of the title ABOMINATION.

Super lame. Now this garbage is infecting and destroying even RPGs. There's no reason for this, it's just a greedy cashgrab. Thinking of skipping this "incomplete" game now, or waiting for it to go half off maybe to pay for the extra $17 DLC tax.

Yawn. Not very exciting. Neither is this game, honestly, if it continues Takahashi's atheist preaching agenda.

This is the worst Mario Kart besides 64, in my opinion. There were no memorable tracks or music.

Those skins are hideous. And pointless when the characters are already in the game. Nintendo needs to be more careful when releasing cheap cash-in DLC like this, enough of it will devalue their brand.

I was really disappointed with my "new" 3DS XL monster hunter version. Besides looking pretty, it wasn't much of an improvement. The analog stick is stiff and horrible to use in games (it doesn't seem to read the "down" input correctly). The head tracking 3D didn't look any better and just gave me a headache so I switched it off and went back to the regular 3D which worked fine. The CPU upgrade isn't really that noticeable - it still stutters on home screen icons. Probably the only useful upgrade will turn out to be the Amiibo reader, but that's a pretty meh feature to spend $150 on.

Anyway, I can see why it's failing to light the world on fire in Japan or elsewhere. It's a minor upgrade at best, and Nintendo continues to have a poor quality screen in comparison to smartphones or the Vita.

@Hero-of-WiiU They're $30 USD, or $40 CDN each at current exchange rates. Ridiculously expensive, in other words.

A lot of it has to do with how poorly the 3DS is selling in Japan relative to smartphones (and the Vita).

Milk that fanbase Nintendo. They were prepared to kill the series if the last game hadn't performed, now they're greedy and thinking consumers are stupid enough to buy two of the same thing for $$$. I think I'm done with Nintendo (again), it was fun for a bit but they're turned back into the nauseating monster they were in the Wii days.

Is anyone stupid enough to still be collecting these? The materialism is killing us. The stress and monetary cost isn't worth it. I'm done and will be selling off my collection over time. Suck it, Iwata.

Yikes, Battlefield and Minecraft are beating all of Nintendo's staples. And even Dragon Quest (albeit a spinoff that launched a couple weeks ago). Japan is truly losing its soul it seems.

I was very disappointed in the "super stable" 3D. I just find it gives me a headache. Not a fan at all of the tracking camera. I get better 3D without the headache on a traditional XL.

@ueI Maybe not World War 2, but the battle of the Pelennor Fields in Return of the King is a 1:1 ripoff of the historical charge of the Polish Winged Hussars to relieve the Siege of Vienna in 1683. Certainly puts an interesting spin on what The Lord of the Rings is really about (clash of civilizations) knowing he drew a parallel between the Ottomans and the orcs/trolls.
