While it looks interesting, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much guys. This is 3D Realms we're talking about. Their track record hasn't been the best as of late. Ion Fury was their best received game in over 15 years.
By the way, Hexen and Heretic were made by Raven Software and I doubt Graven is going to be as good as those classics. Maybe they can prove me wrong, but I won't be holding my breath.
I was disappointed with it but I think it deserves another chance. The story and characters aren't as good as XC, but I'm getting accustomed to the combat. The Rex/Corvin combo in particular is quite fun to play around with. I may have to reconsider my opinion about this game.
I agree with the review. The originals are still the best way to play these games. All-Stars is a novelty, and while it's nice to have it available, it's pretty pointless if the originals are already there.
@Tourtus Double Gold Coins always last until a couple of weeks after the game has been released. It's an early buyer incentive, not a pre-order incentive.
It's nice that Nintendo finally allows cancellations of pre-orders on the eShop, but I've got to ask: why do people pre-order digital games in the first place? It's not like they can run out of stock, can they?
Never heard of it before but it looks pretty neat. I enjoyed Jet Force Gemini on N64, even though it had a couple of problems holding it back from greatness. If Tamarin comes to the Switch, I might buy it if it's any good.
Everytime I try a game from PlatinumGames I get all excited and think it looks really cool, only to be let down by its difficult gameplay. They're usually way too fast for my liking.
However, I'm really glad PlatinumGames is gaining popularity the last couple of years. They deserve it.
@Snow_Hawkthorne It was marketed as Super Mario World 2 but they clearly did that to attract more customers. Yoshi's Island is considered a Yoshi game, not a Mario one.
There's one title in particular I'll always remember: Perfect Dark. It got me into the FPS genre and me and my brother played endless hours of multiplayer death matches against each other. Good times!
My second favorite game of theirs has to be Killer Instinct Gold. Probably the only fighting game I was actually good at besides SSB.
@Rpg-lover
His Monado arts only come into play against Mechon. Even if he's not in the party, you still get his visions and can act accordingly. Also, later in the game you don't even need the Monado to damage Mechon.
But even with all that said, I love him so much that he's always in my party. He's my boy! đĨ°đ
@Rpg-lover
The only one who's always in my team is Shulk. The other members I switch around constantly. XC is the only JRPG I've played so far in which I love every party member, both in personality and in combat.
As for the topic on hand: I'm trying to get better with Shulk in SSBU. I love the character, but so far I've had a difficult time getting good at him in Smash. Slowly but surely I'll get there.
I'm very happy the Switch is getting this many WiiU ports. Few of them interest me, but that's not the point. It's a smart business strategy and all the money Nintendo makes from them can go into development of new games.
@Cheez The Switch was doing incredible before the virus as well. Sure, it gave sales a boost, but these numbers were coming regardless.
The way I see it, and this suspicion only comes from personal experiences with acquaintances, is that many PS and XBox gamers are only interested in a couple of games, only buying the latest FIFA and CoD each year for example and occasionally adding the title which is big at the time like GTA to their collection. Switch owners, and Nintendo fans in general, seem to buy a much wider variety of games than PS and XBox owners.
@Bomberman64 Keeping a product in stock is a balancing act. You can't have too much because you'd lose a lot of money if those units don't sell. The Covid pandemic was an unforeseeable event. It's impossible to react this quickly on a suddenly exploding market while your manufacturers have to stay at home.
@Deltath @TG16_IS_BAE It's true that JRPGs are still quite niche, but some franchises in the genre do quite well. Sure, Xenoblade was released on Wii and 3DS, but even on those consoles it didn't sell well. I just hoped that the increased popularity for the franchise since XC2 would result in higher sales for XCDE.
Before buying this, please take a look at the bad practices Nicalis has been accused of by some of the developers they published games for and consider whether or not you're willing to support such behavior by giving them your money.
There's a reason why Nicalis hasn't been able to secure new games for over a year now. Just saying.
Where's Xenoblade? Seriously, I don't understand its low sales. It gets praised at almost any gaming website and most fans agree this is the best of the franchise. XC2 sold very well, so why aren't those sales impacting XCDE?
Don't tell me XC2 only sold well because of the waifus. That would be really sad.
As long as I think the difficulty is "fair", I have no problem with difficult games. For instance, I can handle Hollow Knight just fine, but I can't stand the randomized elements in some of the Cuphead bosses. It really all depends on how well the gameplay is developed.

I'm giving Xenoblade Chronicles 2 another shot.

Re: More Than 20 Million Courses Have Now Been Uploaded In Super Mario Maker 2
And 99% of them are terrible.
If there's one Mario spin-off I can live without, it's this one. I even prefer Mario sports titles over Mario Maker.
Re: Review: Super Mario All-Stars - All That Glitters Isn't Necessarily Gold
