@Araknie First google sarcasm.. Secondly why would he stick with Nintendo because the game has a missing a feature? It doesn't make sense, surely the GamePad features would be more of a reason to stick with the Nintendo version? Oh, and i'll give you the benefit of the doubt over the additional childish comments..
For the record I'm excited about the Wii U version, the GamePad features look awesome!
@S_T_K Do you work for EA? As that's pretty much word for word what an EA rep would say...
Which ever way you want to dress it up the install base was there, obviously the machine couldn't handle some 360/PS3 games but that doesn't excuse the terrible PS2 ports and shovelware that was dished out, it was just plain lazy. The machine was certainly capable of a lot better...
If the Wii U was being supported more by 3rd parties, would that be such a good thing? We all saw how 3rd party devs crapped all over the Wii. In most cases all you're going to get for the Wii U are trimmed PS3/360 ports, I'd rather see Nintendo look elsewhere than try to win back companies like EA..
Nintendo need to move on from some 3rd parties as obviously Sony/MS come first. Its not a case of "winning them back" but investing in smaller devs like they have in the past (HAL/RARE).
I think that the eshop is the way forward for Nintendo as big 3rd party gaming has obviously taken a different direction and to be quite honest a lot of those franchises are getting really stale and they haven't even been around as long as some Nintendo franchises that are regularly accused of being past their best.
I'd like to see that list of the 20 companies that are "allegedly" interested.. Or is this announcement designed to drum up more interest in acquiring Atlus.....?
"LJ: In order to ship at the same time as the other consoles, we unfortunately weren’t able to delve into this feature. But we think Nintendo gamers will be really excited to get the game at the same time as other consoles."
I don't know about everyone else but I'd rather wait until they've finished the game..
Word on the street is that Tesco maybe dropping the Wii U, which is no big surprise if you've ever been to a Tesco store, especially when you see that they are still selling Batman: Armoured Ed. for the full £45.00..
@element187 I've just come back from my local Tesco and decided to check out the "Wii U shelf", for a start it's a Wii section with three Wii U games at the bottom of the stand.
Sonic Racing, Super Luigi and Batman.. all full price, Batman is £45.00, you can buy this game with free delivery for £14.00 from Amazon UK ...and yet the supermarkets are wondering why they can't sell this stuff?
@element187 Plus ASDA hardly supported the Wii U in the first place, they were only selling it in 100 of their 555 stores to begin with, to be honest I can see where they are coming from as all retailers have right now is a "Wii U shelf" with a couple of games on it and in fairness it looks utterly pathetic compared to the PS3 and 360 range. The Wii U needs games that people will actually go out of their way to buy.
With the 3DS what they have done is moved it out of the stores and decided to sell it online. Which to me indicates that people are not buying the stuff in-store..
Seriously how many people shop at ASDA or Morrisons for video games? Maybe If you see a couple of cheap games whilst doing the weekly food shop.. I really think that people are trying to make this a bigger deal than it actually is.
The fact that ASDA dropped the 3DS probably says more about video game sales as a whole in supermarkets than anything else..
@element187 Thanks for the numbers, interesting that MH3U was basically a HD upgrade as well. It would be really interesting to see how MH4 would do as there is a MH install base already there..
I was in the process of selling uo my US 3DS for a UK XL, that is until I realised the trade off that i'd be making between the UK and US Club Nintendo benefits.. The difference is really quite alarming!
@jrwchil I have to admit that I bought the Wii U just for the MH3U pack itself, I can't think of many other games released around that time that would have tempted me to Wii U..
@Dark_Link I agree, its time to move on from some third parties as they obviously don't want to give a Nintendo machine the same attention as the others. Time to get smaller devs under the Nintendo umbrella and give them the opportunity to shine, the eshop is the place to turn things around IMO.
@hcfwesker Call me a cynic here it's almost like 3rd parties do it intentionally so that people buy on other platforms, if they have any kind of research dept. then they will know that most people will have a 360 or PS3 as well as a Wii U
@jrwchil Pretty much every person know and have spoke to online and also filled in online reviews bought their Wii U for MH3U, did it really do that poorly on Wii U in the UK?
@GazPlant Exactly, you could slash the the price to a penny but it's no good if the console doesn't have the games.. Yes the Wii U had third party support at launch but the majority of those games were already available on other systems with more features.
@unrandomsam I think that Nintendo were actually losing money on the Gamecube until it picked up, they've pretty much made a profit on every console apart from the VB obviously and most probably Wii U.. It really isn't looking good is it?
I download pretty much all my 3DS games as I have a US machine, but live in the UK. Having games shipped over costs an absolute fortune thanks to VAT, it's much easier to get a friend to buy eshop credit and email me the codes
If the games are there then people will buy it, unfortunately the Wii U has had no games worth buying until recently. If it wasn't for the Monster Hunter 3 pack then I would still be holding out for a reason to buy a Wii U.

@TravisTouchdown It's almost like people want the Wii U to fail, forcing Nintendo to go multiplatform? I'm not saying that there's a conspiracy here but it certainly feels like the Wii U is a massive inconvenience for a lot of third party devs, especially when you look at these "trimmed ports"...
