@URAmk2 Wii to Wii U transfer I assumed that Wii mode to wii mode on another Wii U would work? Maybe not.. Feel free to trawl through my entire post history if you have any other queries that you'd like to drag up, you obviously have a lot of time on your hands, I really won't reply next time though..but no doubt you will try..

I'm sorry but I couldn't be bothered to read your reply, mainly because it will be about bunch of stuff that I've already answered but you obviously don't get it and are determined to push this idea that i really do care that much about digital sales, enough that I want to spend the next three days going back and forth like this... Also you're completely missing the point (but don't worry you're in good company as many have) the 30% offer is on until the 21st of the 9th (that's September by the way), so there's plenty of time for people to jump in on this.

OBVIOUSLY, we are are not expecting millions of sales, but there's going to be a few that will take eshop offer. Thinking that there might be a bit more digital sales than usual? Not clutching at straws, you came to that wild conclusion all on your own i'm afraid.

@jrob23 I was going to get the ZOMBIU bundle but at that time the MHU 3 bundle was the same price and you could pick up ZOMBIU on it's own for £15.00, so it was a bit of a "no brainer" really..

I'd love to get the Zelda bundle but I'd have to buy all my eshop games again and I'm not doing another system transfer...

@Rafie Yup, just because the GC didn't sell as many as the PS2 doesn't mean that it didn't do well or wasn't profitable.. Nintendo have made a profit on pretty much all their hardware BTW...

@Shiryu MERCS will also run on my Genesis...

Although most people on the internet are "all talk" a lot of people seem to want this game so Wind Waker might shift some units..

@banacheck The demand on PS3 simply wasn't there though was it, Bayonetta bombed, despite your 77 million install base, so why would the W101 do any better? You've still not answered that..

No one would consider it a viable option anyway, especially as nobody wanted to fund Bayonetta 2 which would probably be a better option when you take into account the reaction to the Wii U getting it.

Also where is the bit where I said that "W101 will sell bucket loads on Wii U..", because I don't remember that at all, but there's certainly no evidence that it would have thrived on the PS3 either..

@Shiryu I can't use a PAL copy of Thunderforce IV as I have a Genesis, Thunderforce III will work just fine though

Wow this site is really upbeat as usual, I'd say that there's more pressing matters concerning the Wii U than having to plug in a USB HDD to add more storage..

@Shiryu lol 3rd parties used to do that to get their games on the Megadrive to, infact Sega used to re-program Capcom games for the MD, did a good job of it too.

@Shiryu I can certainly see now why Nintendo used to limit 3rd party devs to five titles a year for the NES..

Funny that people complain about loading times and I can remember when games came on tapes, some actually came on FOUR tapes and took ages to load, sometimes not at all!!

@Shiryu Yes it was a common misconception at the time that the Saturn "couldn't do 3D", when in fact it was the architecture I think that was a headache and the PSX got all the 3D joy...

The Shenmue Saturn demo certainly dispelled that theory though..

@Shiryu I used to own a Saturn and I have to say that Metal Slug and SFA3 were superb, If I remember correctly it also had the better port of Dead or Alive as well?

@Shiryu I had the first Metal Slug for PSX, it even had crazy loading in the middle of levels.. Ouch!!

@Marshi I stopped buy games magazines when "Mean Machines" split up, but even back then you had stuff like GamesMaster Magazine giving Sonic 2 65% out of 100

I hope that people give this game a chance, rather than dismissing it due to some misguided reviews... Reviewing games is a dying art these days I'm afraid.

@Marshi I didn't say that he wasn't entitled to an opinion, I said that I don't respect his opinion, of which I explained my reasons why thoroughly by the way..

Now if he had said that he believes that the W101 is only going to appeal to a niche audience due to the fact that in order to make another Bayonetta, Platinum had to go to Nintendo, where they haven't particularly done well before (MadWorld). That would probably carry more weight than what he actually wrote..

@Marshi I don't respect his opinion, what I can gather from a couple of those "novels" that he's posted is that is his entire point of reference is just messing about on a demo and watching a bunch of videos, yet he's managed to form an in depth opinion on the full game.

His entire rant is based on half the story, digital sales are not included in the "all platform" chart, the eshop has a 30% offer if you bought pikmin and also bearing in mind that in general Nintendo's digital sales have been on the rise recently... this would suggest to me that MAYBE people might be more inclined to download the game?

If my memory serves me correctly,then this is the same person that was moaning incessantly about paying $10.00 for a copy of Earthbound from the eshop when the cost would be something like $150.00+ for the original Super Nintendo cart?

@banacheck How do you come to that conclusion? Bayonetta selling poorly on both PS3 and 360 is why SEGA didn't fund a sequel hence why Platinum are now releasing games for Wii U. If Bayonetta bombed on PS3 then why would this succeed?

@Tra_Venous According to that article, apart from the loading times it's looks like the Wii U is the clear winner.

@sinalefa I was thinking DuckTales.... Wiiiii U! (sorry) and Trine 2, (£5 for Trine 2 seems too good to pass up). I've heard some great things about Little Inferno though, weird but enjoyable.

@Falco There were games {mainly shoot em ups) on the MD that the SNES could simply not replicate, the megadrive had the same processor as the Amiga 500.

You probably wouldn't have noticed as much if you had PAL machines (which ran 17.5% slower than NTSC) but the SNES was notorious for slowdown issues back in the day due to the slower processor, it was certainly not "superior in every way", for sure..

@MadAussieBloke Looks like the eshop version is the way to go, I actually have a bunch of Wii games backed up on a USB stick, the difference between USB and disc is very noticeable in a lot of games TBH.

I had no problem with the demo at all, it's a very old school type game which generally requires skill, patience and timing, so straight away it's not going to be to some people's tastes. From what I've read it seems like people are marking it down for having a learning curve and being slightly difficult, which says more about modern gaming than anything else quite frankly.

I've ordered the full game, so hopefully I'll get in the next few days...

@Falco I keep saying this about 3rd party ports, they will never push the WII U hardware as they're always developed on inferior machines to start off with.

As for the MD/SNES thing, the SNES had better graphics capabilities but the Megadrive had a much, much faster processor which is why the SNES had slowdown issues and some 3rd party games between the two ended up being slightly different games.

If you could only get two games out of DuckTales, Little Inferno and Trine 2. What would you go for? (Bear in mind that Trine 2 is discounted on the eShop right now from £13.99 to £5 somthing).

@FlangoMango At least we are getting the 60hz versions in Europe, when they FINALLY get around to releasing them all.

I probably would have got this if it was released earlier, because at that time the Wii U had about as much choice as a Welsh fish and chip shop. Now though, there's games coming out that I want a lot more than this.

@MadAussieBloke I own the original and a Genesis but i'd totally buy it if it came out on VC, I'm still waiting patiently to upgrade all those PC Engine shoot em ups that I bought from the shop channel
