Re: Yoko Taro, Satoshi Kon, And Kentucky Route Zero Are Inspirations For This Gorgeous Sci-Fi Adventure

Definitely looks different, and the fact that it has multiple endings means replayability. It's new concepts like these that push the envelope in the industry, making unique and fresh experiences. Since this is inspired by Yoko Taro's work, I'd expect to see a great mix of the morbid and the humorous. It seems there is also this component again of godhood and servitude..

Re: Life Is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection Bags A Release Date And New Trailer

@Jamessmooth After having played LiS 2 I can say that the first season is definitely much better, and with BtS the story of Max, Chloe, and Rachel is fleshed out even more and brought full circle to a satisfying but bitter/sweet conclusion. If you're looking for a quality narrative that has weight and lasting meaning, I'd stick with those. Not that LiS 2 is incomplete necessarily or doesn't have weight to its story, it's just that it's not done near as well, and the characters are not as iconic. As for True Colors, I have not played it, so I can't give too much comment on it, but from what I've heard from players, it's a mixed bag of good and bad.

Ironic that this minority demographic discourages developers from providing for their target market by shaming them into capitulation, when these same Twitter folk (who don't represent everyone), no doubt influenced by and products of woke western culture, seem to be completely unfazed by all the other types of graphic violent content currently on the market. I don't see much campaigning against that.. but for some reason it's their mission to quash these already niche indie titles.

Hypocrisy aside, to me, it's the same as forcing your beliefs onto someone else. Why can't we have games for people of all persuasions and just live and let live? There's no reason to shut down expression of art just because you personally have a problem with it. But for the sake of argument, if we were going to re-evaluate our morals in entertainment, we might want to start looking at depictions of graphic violence first. You know, like dismembering people with garden tools in 4K. Seems more precedential somehow.

That said, I think we all deserve to game the way we want to game. Delaying/cancelling the title just gives these people more clout, while alienating and disappointing those who are actually looking forward to it. The illustration above perfectly shows the problem.

Re: Monster Hunter Movie's Chinese Premiere Reportedly Cancelled Due To Racist Joke

"Just looking up the name of the movie, here’s the synopsis: “Ip Man and his son encounter racial discrimination after traveling to the United States to seek a better life."

Did you actually see the movie yourself, or did you just read the synopsis to form an opinion?

"Yeah. It seems like that was the premise of the movie.
When I look at the Wikipedia page, it says that it takes place in 1964. It was set during the civil rights era. Having white men be hateful in that movie is historically accurate, so your criticism is a little strange."

True, it is around a time where racism was more prevalent than today, and it is one of the sources of Ip Man's grievance, but what the movie failed to recognize was that not every white person was a racist then either. Ever heard of the hippie movement? The Jesus movement? What about the fact that military men, even for that time, were generally less racist because they routinely work with and train foreigners?

The movie utterly fails to address these exceptions and paints all whites as unhinged, blood curdling racists. It was obviously a political hit-piece against America, no doubt incited by the Sino-US trade wars of late.

Re: Atelier Ryza Developer Clarifies Its Stance On Video Game Censorship

@status-204 That's not quite true. They left Holland because the libertarian society was having an adverse effect on their christian puritan morals, and they feared the children were growing into licentiousness rather than holiness. This prompted a decision to charter course for the Americas. But history lesson's over.

It's good to see that Nintendo devs are remaining true to their work. The simple fact is, when you cater to a vocal woke minority (who do not represent the West by any conceivable stretch) instead of the mass of your target player base, you will undoubtedly suffer loss of sales. And here in the West outrage culture is never satisfied with what you "accomplish" for their sake. There is always more char to be had.

So I commend Mr. Hosoi for his fortitude and vision for free artistic expression. May it be met with increased success.

Re: After Resident Evil, The Witcher And Castlevania, Netflix's Next Trick Is Creating An Assassin's Creed Series

Hopefully they focus on the ideologies of all the factions and their inner workings. I'd love to see them get into the Instruments as well, if they choose to go that route. Parkour also must play a central role in the action and cinematography, but that kinda goes without saying. I hope this ends up being a decent addition to the AC universe, but I have serious doubts after the Assassin's Creed movie. We'll just have to wait and see.
