When I was 17yo I was signed to my first record label. A few years later we went big and picked up a really major label. All this happened in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. I also branched out into production and sound engineering as well as studio musician gigs and selling music that I wrote that just didn't fit into my band's genre at the time. After that I invested well. I didn't spend my time drinking and doing drugs and really took my music seriously. This was back when you actually made good money being signed. I retired because I had a son and he used to wait by the door for me till I came home. Poor kid. I was gone a lot due to touring. I gave up my love for something I loved a lot more. I don't regret it either.
