Good news: Thief Simulator 2 has just been confirmed for a release on Nintendo Switch. Bad news: you're going to have to wait two whole years before you can play the thing.
A sequel to 2019's Thief Simulator, this new release offers up a new dose of the stealthy, thievery gameplay seen in the first game while aiming to take things up a notch. The development team is promising "many improvements and new possibilities, including three diverse locations full of objects and goals."
"Thief Simulator 2 is a unique blend of stealth, adventure and simulation, where players will have the opportunity to make a career in a very unusual, wicked industry. This first person perspective (FPP) simulator will allow them to try their hand at numerous plundering challenges, starting with ordinary houses, and moving on to banks and other well-protected facilities.
The gameplay will be based mainly on observation, planning, making well thought out moves, covering your tracks and fencing the appropriated items."
The game's currently being developed by Polish studio MrCiastku, and will be published by Ultimate Games S.A. It's set to debut on PC in 2022, with console releases eventually landing the following year.
"The new instalment will be bigger, better, prettier and even more exciting," says Rafał Jelonek, COO at Ultimate Games S.A. "We pay great attention to the feedback from our community gathered around the game. We are also preparing numerous surprises for fans of the series. As a result, Thief Simulator 2 will offer everything that the players liked about the previous instalment and much more."

This just feels wierd and I'm not sure why...
Is that a sequel to the game with the bald guy that is ALWAYS on sale and at the top of the list? Haha. Infamous.
2023???
Why even announce it now?
Announcing a 2023 release now is laughable, especially if the game is getting a timed-exclusive release on PC in 2022. I guess they're really banking on that "Switch Pro" to come out.
Ressurect the article in 2023. When it's actually relevant.
"Bigger, better, prettier..."...
For 2023...
New Super Switch Pro Deluxe XL 4K now with Funky Kong mode CONFIRMED!!!
@KillerBOB Now that's funny as hell!
IMHO I can't play this because I feel it's unethical. Games like GTA are so incredible unrealistic and over the top that it's something else.
But this is just like... slaughtering baby seals and skin them Simulator.
@erretter
I would love an HD remaster of Seal Skinning 64
What a weird concept, I think what this game really needs is some personality or branding. Imagine if the hitman games were called “murder simulator” it would feel really wrong and strange. Give the main character in this game a story, why is he stealing? Give the character motivation, maybe he is stealing from people who wronged him in the past, or needs the money for medical treatments…. There’s lots of potential but the “theif simulator” brand feels weird and bare bones to me.
The original is always on sale for 99p so I just assumed it was ***** shovelware.
Is it just ***** shovelware?
@Eddy9000 I bought a long time ago because why not, it's fun but don't expect any intuitive story or complex mechanics. The game is literally all about stealing. There is a little story just to keep you going but nothing huge. You're not missing much by not buying. It's honestly better to watch a playthrough online if you're interested at all.
@Eddy9000 it is
doesn't look that much different to the first game in terms of graphics
got the first game cause it was on eShop for 99 cents
@E_Gadds_Garage Imagine he's the 29th clone in a project to create the perfect thief. Therefore he's known as... Agent 29. He retired but got pulled back in in the second game. The third game will be fever dreams of his past. Then they'll expand a bit on it, give it some movies, and then a reboot.
Hope this helps
But yeah, I completely agree, by the way.
I played the first game just bc I was bored and it was like three bucks, and I know it sounds strange, but I kinda liked it.
@Daniel36 I thought the same thing! This is just that game that's always on sale for 99p. Pity the poor fool who pays full price (for the 5 minutes that it is at full price)
as someone who is a big fan of the first one, I'm looking forward to the second
Omg, this game totally confirms the switch pro!!!😲😲😲! Switch or 2023 release confirmed by third party developer!! Can’t wait for the RGT video!! I hated writing this so much
