Every year, around this time, the My Famicase Exhibition is released upon the world, showcasing hundreds of fan-made designs for the Famicom cartridge. Each one has been dreamed up, designed, and submitted by (usually) an artist, along with a description of what the game would be — but the catch is that none of these games are real.
Of course, they can be. There's even a game jam, "A Game By Its Cover", specifically designed around turning these fictional game cases into reality. And, technically, they do exist in the real world, as the cartridges are created for the physical exhibition. But insert them into a console, and nothing will happen — they're just very pretty shells.
Anyway, the real purpose behind the Famicase art exhibition is for us to pick our favourites, and imagine what kind of game they might be. Let's go!
Check out the collection for yourself, and choose your favourites! Let us know what kind of game they'd be in the comments.

Being I don't own the system, and more than likely never will, I'm not at all excited about this.
@NotPoliticallyCorrec It's art, none of them are real and never will be. Or do you just dislike art because you don't own a Famicom?
@YANDMAN i guess I must have misread the article then because I thought they said they had some system of bringing these games into reality. I love art. I retired at 34yo on the money I've made with music and art

Buuut ~~~
Thanks! That would be kind of a great idea!~ If I run w/your idea a bit~ making one or more if these into a real working cart:
LRG (or any fab shop) + The artist + Nintendo (well maybe) = proceeds to charity..?
Get a (or selection of) ‘winner’ from this made into a fami game.
eg a paint your own cart sim etc. Or a shuffle vid of pics from this event nothing too fancy.
They could charge a high amount, and it would be a great collectors’ item on the art and game sides of things.
Edit for “plus signs” not type set previously
I love all of these. This exhibit is like candy for my imagination. Every year I get a kick out of it.
Tempting to just 3d print some Famicom shells and make some of my own. Hmmm...
I might cry if no one attempts to do anything with Basilisk.
Different times--and some would say better times in many ways.
@PoliticallyIncorrect Well then you read incorrectly. They make them as physical carts to hold and display, not play. It's an art design contest for the label art and nothing more, although one of my friends entries from a few years ago was later turned into a game. Happy retirement. What did you do in the music world?
When I was 17yo I was signed to my first record label. A few years later we went big and picked up a really major label. All this happened in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. I also branched out into production and sound engineering as well as studio musician gigs and selling music that I wrote that just didn't fit into my band's genre at the time. After that I invested well. I didn't spend my time drinking and doing drugs and really took my music seriously. This was back when you actually made good money being signed. I retired because I had a son and he used to wait by the door for me till I came home. Poor kid. I was gone a lot due to touring. I gave up my love for something I loved a lot more. I don't regret it either.
