Re: Super Smash Bros. Pro Players Tackle the Problem of Diddy Kong

PikminWorld

Every character in their own way is OP, but also have their weaknesses. I use Bowser sometimes and I can usually launch people off the screen at only 60% damage, but then he is also pretty slow so he has his weakness. They all do. Personally, I'm terrible with Diddy and barely play with him as such.

Re: Review: The Letter (Wii U eShop)

PikminWorld

It's a shame this game didn't turn out well. Which is probably why it popped out of no where with little knowledge prior to its release. Hopefully the developer can make it into something better or at least create another game that's way better. Surprisingly, the Miiverse community while mixed on the game, actually seems dedicated to the game and enjoys it to some degree. More or less they're dedicated to the developer and are giving tons of suggestions to him.

Re: FIFA 15 Is Lacing Its Boots For A Wii And 3DS Appearance, But Is Skipping The Wii U

PikminWorld

EA: We'll bring games once the console starts to sell but until then we'll completely ditch it and expect it to sell anything!

I can understand why publishers like EA are wary but, really do they expect things to get better when they don't support the console or give the console horrible ports or games that had already been out for months on other platforms? By the way EA, it's probably a lot less wiser to sell FIFA on a practically dead console with discontinued online and the 3DS which I can only imagine it doesn't run the best on than selling it on the Wii U where some people actually want the game (not really me but, you know).

Re: GameStop Plans to Close Around 120 Stores in the Coming Year

PikminWorld

I honestly like GameStop, sure they make shady decisions but, then again what business doesn't? It sucks for those who lose their jobs and I hope it doesn't affect my area, the guys at my local GS are nice guys who even though, look on a little disappointingly when I buy Wii U games, are still pretty cool.

Re: Latest PS4 Sales Figures Take it Past Wii U Life-to-Date Q3 Total

PikminWorld

The PS4 had a lot of hype around it considering the Xbox One's reveal flopped and a lot of Xbox fans decided to go for the PlayStation this generation. The only thing I wish is for the insulting to all sides to stop. I mean when they make mistakes go ahead but, I'm tired of going on websites and reading SOME Sony fans rubbing it in the other fans' faces or vice versa. I mean I'm sure that happened to them a lot from Microsoft fans last generation at least during the beginning and they want revenge but it's unnecessary. Anyways, I think the Wii U can make a comeback with some great exclusives this year (like Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros.) regardless of the PS4's superior hardware which to be honest I saw a video of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zero and they showed a comparison with PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS4 graphics and I couldn't tell the difference at all. Oh, well I respect all of them, as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft's consoles made my childhood great.

Re: Investor Wants Nintendo To Create Mobile Titles With Game-Altering In-App Purchases

PikminWorld

I think the way Nintendo should handle their mobile strategy is to make tiny games with or without their main IPs used, probably shouldn't use your IPs and make up new ones just to make it a little interesting but if Nintendo could create a killer app that was 100% free and that got a ton of advertising Nintendo could make $50,000 a day like the creator of Flappy Bird or more off something that barely costed them much money. Of course it shouldn't be mediocre nor should it have micro-transactions like, " Oh you died, wait five hours or pay $2 for instant lives!" that's definitely a bad idea. I'm sure people would still pay but, I feel that it's dirty and annoying, so it should be 100% profits off of ads. Though you guys are being way too harsh to that investor, first off I doubt Nintendo would listen and second even if you disagree with him you don't need to tell him to die and use other vulgar words. I don't agree either but telling him to die is crossing the line. By the way I'm not all for Nintendo doing mobile games either, they're best on Nintendo's hardware but they could assign a team that's not really working on major IPs to make mobile games if they do decide on that way so then you don't have to feel like Nintendo actually made them. Just my opinions though.

Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

PikminWorld

I agree with what Emblem said about making sure the Wii U version is the definitive but still what do developers expect when they do this with the Wii U version of their game? They expect great success only to kill their own game by delaying it to the point where people have bought it on other platforms, or they port a game MONTHS after the game first came out (EA), butchering the port, etc. and they seriously question why the Wii U version flopped?

Re: As The Maker Of Flappy Bird Withdraws His Creation, Nintendo Denies Any Legal Complaint

PikminWorld

While I didn't really like Flappy Bird, I think you guys are being harsh on him. If you think about it, he's a genius. He made a game that was simple and challenging and people loved it and it made him rich. You have to remember too, he made it by himself, he doesn't have a ton of money like other mobile game developers to make games like Clash of Clans and Angry Birds. It's a shame that he grew to hate his own creation and fell to the pressure of his haters, at least it means he wasn't egotistical in his own game. At least now with all the money he made, you can expect a game from him 100x better than Flappy Bird. Also saying he created a rip off of Mario over the use of the pipes is a bit over the top isn't it? Even, if Nintendo had gone a long with it they would've gotten so much hate from fans of Flappy Bird that it wouldn't help Nintendo's cause especially when they're trying to make up for the lost ground with the Wii U.

Re: A Sonic Boom Game is Dashing Towards Wii U and 3DS

PikminWorld

I'm hoping this will be awesome! It doesn't look bad but the character designs do look... dull and somewhat creepy. Then again it's still a work in progress and if fans react enough they'll at least make them look like they're not horrible action figures. The game play looks like a good direction for the series though, 3D Worlds that you can explore. Also since it's being made by former Naughty Dog developers who helped make amazing games like Crash Bandicoot it should be a good game.

Re: Pac-Man Museum Reportedly Cancelled on Nintendo Systems

PikminWorld

@Faustek I see what you mean. I just get tired of seeing 3rd party games not come, sorry. I do have my PC for the multi-plats luckily but for some strange reason I like to play games more on consoles. I hope things pick up for the Wii U like it did for the PS3, just hopefully not as long haha.

I hope Nintendo is picking up on some of the other companies' techniques that'll bring in more gamers to the Wii U. All I really want is Nintendo's consoles to still have individually even if they are gimmicks I still love them because it's different but also the things other people really want on their consoles. Sorry if I sounded repetitive throughout that.

Re: Pac-Man Museum Reportedly Cancelled on Nintendo Systems

PikminWorld

@Faustek Still you have to admit that what Namco did was rude considering they're developing a Nintendo exclusive. I know they probably did it because, they thought it wasn't a sound investment but still when you're working on an exclusive for a console you don't just ditch it by leaving out your company's games. Also the community here is pretty nice in my opinion. Way better than some other forums I've been on so don't lose hope on us yet.

Re: EA's Peter Moore States That "Nintendo's A Great Partner" In Reaction To Claims of "Dead" Relationship

PikminWorld

They whine how their games won't sell on Nintendo platforms yet they give us a months old port of Mass Effect 3 which by the time the Wii U came out most people who wanted it, had it. They gave us four games before ditching the Wii U which had they given it more time, then the Wii U could actually have a lot more 3rd party games people really want like Battlefield 4. I like the 3rd party already on the Wii U, but still EA while they are jerks they do have games a lot of people seem to want. I wish they'd stop this criticizing and then damage control for crying out loud.

Re: Wii U Isn't Getting Need For Speed: Rivals Thanks To Low Sales Of Most Wanted

PikminWorld

I think things with Nintendo and 3rd parties for the Wii U will improve this holiday season even though the competition is bringing new consoles to the plate, hopefully the ports for PS3 and Xbox 360 stop after they've been out for a while because, they are a big part too as to why we won't be getting some next-gen ports sometimes, (because some next-gen games have PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One versions which is a lot of money to port) So once we're back to three it might improve and also the fact that Wii U sales will hopefully improve due to new titles this holiday season. Though, these are my opinions and I have no real idea as to why we don't get ports as statements from developers constantly change and vary.

Re: Don't Expect To See A Mainline Pokémon Game On Wii U Or Your Smartphone

PikminWorld

I don't see why Masuda is so uncomfortable with console development for Pokemon. I mean if anything the Wii U is the perfect home console by Nintendo for him. It has the 3DS like tablet and has touch control so I don't know exactly what he meant by you can just click on people and propose to battle them as it would be possible on the Wii U also.
Another thing about the Wii U is that with Miiverse and Nintendo's online multiplayer, trading and battling would be simple as you could do it directly online or they could do a Wind Waker like feature (with the bottles coming in) and allow trading/messages come in through the post office or something. Sonic Lost Worlds also has a trading item feature using Miiverse, right? So, I think Pokemon would be perfect for Wii U, though Animal Crossing in a way would be understandably more hard with the Wii U since it's not 100% portable.

Re: Ripstone Confirms Plans to Include Sony Systems in Wii U and 3DS Pure Chess Online Multiplayer

PikminWorld

More developers should do cross-platform online multiplayer so they can make dedicated servers without worrying about depopulated servers for a particular system. This way there won't be any exclusions of multiplayer from a system that doesn't have a lot of people or so they say (Arkham Origins) and they don't lose money making dedicated servers and online features.

Re: Chompy Chomp Chomp Party Heading To Wii U Next Year

PikminWorld

Looks interesting though, it looks like Pokemon Rumble U and Pac-Man and the gameplay sounds kind of cool but, could also get boring after a while of just eating each other but, I shouldn't judge yet and it's nice to know another game is coming to the Wii U! I hope it works out well and becomes a great game.

Re: River City Ransom: Underground Dev Wants To Bring The Game To 3DS And Wii U

PikminWorld

Kickstarter is how Nintendo should show their indie support to the public. I've seen a lot of video game kickstarters go for Sony's platforms when they make stretch goals for other platforms, (though I have seen an increase in Wii U stretch goals) but, Nintendo supporting projects through Kickstarter can prove they support indies to the public and get more indie support on board (and possibly future big developers if they were really successful) if they backed their projects to help reach their goals. It would confirm a Wii U version at least.
