@Bunkerneath It wouldn't need to encapsulate the whole world, just tell some cool little story within that world while making sure it keeps a Zelda feel

But I do agree in some respects, mostly if they were animated movies. Wreck-it Ralph showed us you can do a good video game movie, without even really involving real videogame characters in the plot

@Samurai_Goroh Totally agreed. At least BW2 had some story and relatively interesting villain team to build on, so with all new features added it was worth it. I personally didn't care enough about the characters in XY to want a sequel, which is a shame with the great war in the backstory and all. It could have been more interesting, even if it is for kids.

So which country will be the inspiration this time?

This has somehow gradually become my favorite 3DS series, so great news. I'm curious whether they'd implement a story mode, Untold style, from the get-go, since I think it adds a lot to the game IMO.

@Dark-Luigi Yeah, I'd be Team Nohr too, but if Hoshido is allegedly the easier game, it makes sense to play it first. Oh well...

Great that both games can stand or their own, so it's not literally like two versions of Pokemon.

Aaaah, why Devil Survivor but no Soul Hackers

Yeah, I hope they do well because competition is good and all, but don't know. Yokai are not a very well known concept to western audiences, and catching monsters sound IMO more approachable than spirits of dead pets and cursed salarymen with dog ears etc.
Plus, no multiplayer.
But if it forces Gamefreak to improve on their games even more , then again, I'm all for it

Still, the gameplay of Isaac fits a handheld greatly in my opinion. I own it on Steam and probably will on 3ds too. Same with Terraria.

On a more serious note, I recently upgraded to New XL, my motivations being the ability to play Monster Hunter with the C-stick + Binding of Isaac and Xenoblade.

Binding of Isaac, finally. Getting SMT:DS2 later, still haven't beaten DS1.

Hmmm, I should really try to get the neutral ending in SMT4... Enough time for that, it's probably coming to Europe in like 2020 :/

Oh, glad my initial impression was wrong, that Famitsu link actually looks pretty cool It already has a nice change with diversifying character looks, after having the main cast all with brownish hair and in uniforms.

@Pod Or, you know, not release anything too soon, just announce it and take enough time to actually polish it. Most franchises with yearly releases could use such break.

@ikki5 Because when you split regions mafia-style and enforce region lock, it is easier to screw people over. I have a similar problem with release dates here in Europe. If Pokemon XY had global release, why is it still such a problem to do for big companies? It's 2015 ffs

@Starwolf_UK Ok, sorry, not keeping track of who publishes it here. Dunno if Atlus hates Europe or what. I'm just referring to Atlus games in general (SMT, EO, Conception, Citizens of Earth...)
I did buy Devil Survivor on a discount and remember that Soul Hacker was discounted too but that was long time ago and I just bought Devil Survivor so I did not buy it then.. if only I knew.

But if different people handle the franchises, there may still be a chance

Oh look, Atlus once again missed out on the opportunity to promote their new game by discounting other related games. If this goes the same with release of Devil Survivor 2, I can probably kiss Soul Hackers for a better price goodbye :/

If they won't localize GAA because of the american localization, it makes even less sense for us Europeans.
