@Grisinblue say what you will about the DS line but the clamshell design for a larger portable is the GOAT design. They could/should have done it here as well, even if there was only a single screen. Could eventually launch a model that was BC with the 3ds for extra $$$ even

What? Really? Did they honestly do that? The lack of Diversity is utterly appalling, I am literally going into shock right now and probably need medical attention. If I manage to pull through I really believe I may have some permanent PTSD over this, I am just that horrified and in disbelief. I mean, wow, just wow. Oh and, no surprise here, but they still refuse to be inclusive to the transgendered community. If it were up to me, at least one of those three houses would ALL be proudly either transitioning or transitioned. Hopefully someday Nintendo finds the COURAGE to do the right thing and listens to fans on this one, I can promise you that a lot of us are about to say NO MORE over this. We're getting close.

Played Warsong a lot, tried the 3ds game but it was lackluster. This looks like a day one for me

I just hope, nay demand, that with a whopping 12 different bosses to pick from they have a wide selection of genders, races and non-binary individuals to choose from. It's 2019 and there is literally no reason why femayles are not equally or greater represented and there are many, many different gender choices to make. If it's literally only white men, honestly I will scream as loud as possible. Let me be clear, if this game showcases majority cis white men... they WILL have a problem. The cover picture, with one single femayle sitting behind and to the side is very troubling. I hope that was just some kind of mistake but it's already looking bad here. Two out of three also appear to be white. Uh? What? Someone needs to tell these individuals making this game and let them know there is more than just white people in this world.

I've never delved into this series but I have some Neptunia SRPG on my Vita, which is waiting to be played some day. I might check this one out, too, it looks pretty fun... just, so many games and such little time.

My thoughts: The gameplay was what it was, probably slightly less complicated than 5 (which I didn't really play). What sets 4 apart is that the protagonist is actually likable and interesting, which was well needed after 3.

Love it. Reminds me of the Vita, which is a criminally underrated handheld. It being thinner and having an attachable back plate dock is a clever idea, even if they just do it so that it can mount in a standard Switch dock it could work.

Would anyone else be interested in a remaster or some version of the Temple of Elemental Evil game? I am okay with RTwP but pure turn based games seem like it would work with D&D so well

I am glad kemco started the video with their name, saved me having to watch any more. I would also urge games journalists to mention who made the game at the start. Kemco is an auto pass for many players.

Looks amazing, exactly the kind of game I would love to sink my teeth into — just not $80-100 worth of value. Call me when it's more like $50-60 or can be DL'ed for a reasonable price...

Why does this genre have so much utterly pathetic/creepy “fan service” nonsense?

I dig DRPGs gameplay-wise but a lot of them are downright embarrassing to play...

I wasn’t into the gameplay and since then I’ve been spoiled by games like Octopath Traveler, I think this would only come off as more dull and repetitive now.

The story in Setsuna was fine, nothing special, but serviceable. The gameplay is what the problem was. It was simply there and wasn’t engaging like other titles, Octopath Traveler springing to mind. We spend 90-95% of our time in these games fighting, if that portion is repetitive and bland, that 5% of story is irrelevant.

OT had a better story (or stories) but the reason it is universally praised isn’t because it had a B vs a C story, it’s because the gameplay was an A vs a C, combined with also having a slightly better story.

Gameplay is the steak, story is the sizzle.

Had these on my phone. Basic stuff, not worth $14 or your time.

Totally wrong. They CAN cost $40 but you can easily score them for $10-20 and they go on sale a lot more often. Target is almost giving them away at this point. Whatever else the Switch may be, cheaper it is not

I would like an announcement confirming and dropping details on a next generation pure handheld, a successor to the 3ds.

In a perfect world it would be dual screen, backwards compatible with 3ds games and maybe even sync with the Switch in some ways: as a pro controller to the Switch, playing next gen (or 3ds games) through a docked Switch or a Switch in tabletop mode, or maybe even ripping off Sony’s remote play and with everything connected to WiFi, playing Switch games on it.

I enjoy my Switch but I find for some games my 3ds is better and it’s cheaper and more portable. I would love for a next gen 3ds successor to live side by side with the Switch.
