@JaxonH You may wish to read these comments again, and more closely this time, because the first time anybody suggested that your opinion meant less than somebody else's was when you claimed that people were suggesting that your opinion meant less than anybody else's. Then somehow that morphed into people allegedly claiming that your opinion was worthless, not just worth less, combined with believing that all you were doing was defending yourself against this heinous suggestion, complete with the Allcaps Of Anger. Consider easing up on the persecution complex.
@StephenYap3 It is quite obvious in hindsight that internally Nintendo had pivoted to the Switch and had to sacrifice some games simply to make sure that the Wii U wasn't utterly devoid of content before the Switch and its games were ready. They are still a publicly traded corporation and have to act like it, especially when faced with the failure that was the Wii U.
@invictus4000 If you're claiming that button remapping and SD data transfer aren't useful features but folders and backgrounds are, you're clearly just in the mood to complain and are grasping at whatever is available.
@mesome713 You are clearly disinterested in any sort of logical thought or legitimate argumentation. Here's a hint: the tactic of arguing from a definition which was specifically constructed to support a position is the very height of folly.
@mesome713 There's a difference between collecting baseball cards and loot boxes, which I'll be more than happy to explain to anybody interested in understanding, rather than parlaying ignorance into an insulting hot take.
@Ralizah If you're not reading Nazism in this game then you need to pay a bit more attention. I've seen the trailer, and it oozes white supremacy wish fulfillment. It also lacks artistry of any variety, boundary-pushing or otherwise.
@gojiguy Well you're clearly old and don't get it, so concluding that someone doesn't get it because they're a kid is a flawed deduction. Not to mention that assuming someone is a kid in the first place is a flawed basis for deduction. Basically your logic is wrong in every way possible.
@ThanosReXXX Ah, the old trick of claiming opinion in an attempt to justify a belief and prevent it from being critiqued. You argued that the game couldn't possibly be a nine because it wasn't the Abzû-esque exploration game you thought it was going to be. There's nothing of opinion in that suggestion. It's a research sim, and if you had said it's a bad game because it's a bad research sim, that would be both opinion and defensible. But you said it was a bad game because it wasn't a diving game, and that is neither.
This is good. Not because new video games remain available (although I don't mind), but because with the virus and the response combining to decimate the economy any work that can continue, and any industry that can be active, is not just beneficial but essential.
@ThanosReXXX So you think that it should be scored lower because it isn't what you thought it would be, or should be? Apart from the obvious egocentrism it would be poor criticism to judge a work on any criterion other than what it's trying to do.
@Tandy255 I've gotten caught before by sales not being available on what I thought was the last day they would be, so I sympathize. I believe the eShop updates at noon Eastern/9 Pacific; I know a couple of times I've had to wait until then to download games on the day they've launched, so I think it's the general rule. It wouldn't surprise me if that is the time that sales end, as well.
@Darlinfan Calling it an encyclopedia is a poor analogy. The internet is fantastic for educating yourself about specific topics, but it is an abysmal place to browse and learn about new things. Yes, people can inform themselves about any game, but it can't occur to them to do so until they've already learned about the game, and that's not something you can expect the internet to do.
@LUIGITORNADO I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.
Was lucky enough to get a copy of Quest. So far it's the only good thing to come out of having nothing to do but stay home, sit on my couch, and stare at a screen; fortunately I was opting for my phone's screen and not my TV's at the time the original tweet went out. I love RPGs, I love cards, and I love SteamWorld Dig, so it was only a matter of time before I pulled the trigger and got Quest, but a wishlist 80 games long and longer backlog conspired to keep pushing when back. Remember when the Wii U got six games a month and five of them were obviously garbage to be avoided?
@yuwarite As someone who was alive and playing video games in the 80s, I can assure you that Shovel Knight plays exactly how we remember games from that era playing. It doesn't actually play like them, of course; that would be a terrible design choice. But it plays like we remember.
@glenny3214 It may be worth it for people who wish to play it single-player, but that's not why some people buy a game, and having different preferences doesn't make people retarded, and it certainly doesn't justify insulting them.
Waiting on @ Schenectady or whatever his name was to come in and tell us about the PC master race just being better and oh yeah here's my work please read it.
@MrBlacky Just a little counter-nitpicking: sorry, but the term is well established, and applies whether or not there are Metroid or Castlevania elements to a game.
@ResidentSteve @imgrowinglegs At the time of the cancelation I didn't have another system that the game was coming to, so I will admit that I didn't pay much attention to how to change platforms, not that it would have done me any good if I had. But when they announced for the Switch I reached out on Twitter and was met with silence, have been every time I try, and, to judge from comments on the Kickstarter page, am not alone. I backed a number of other games for the Wii U that canceled for that system but came to the Switch (or are still in development for it)--Earthlock, Hollow Knight, Nefarious, Sneaky Ninja--and all of them not only gave me Switch copies, they had proactively reached out to their Kickstarter backers and offered them, rather than waiting for requests. Hyper Light Drifter is the only game not to make that option available.
I'd love to play Hyper Light Drifter, but I supported the Kickstarter and they never provided copies on other systems to people who pledged for a Wii U copy, so $&@# if I'm giving them any more money.
I'll take all the 3D games that aren't in HD and playable on my TV already, please.
And while we're at it, I'll take every Mario Kart track remastered as well. Seriously, they could charge $100 and if it meant playing any track I wanted I'd pay it.
@dreamssux There's no reason a scale which measures the quality of a game should correlate with a scale that measures how well a student has mastered material.
@Szczelec35 What could possibly make you think that finding a new website and introducing yourself via poorly-written rant was a good way to create an audience?
@Toy_Link Obviously @Scy and @Szczelec35 are two separate people. You can tell because one commented to the other, and nobody is so absolutely pathetic that he'd comment to himself just to disguise that he's using multiple accounts simultaneously. The identical outlook, syntax, and vocabulary just means that they're kindred spirits, that's all.
@jarvismp It sounds like you're certain Jedi Academy isn't rubbish--but if that's the case, why do you need a review? Shouldn't reviews be given to games we aren't certain about the quality of?

@duffmmann Once somebody calls me crazy, I get to engage in pedantry. Once somebody calls me crazy, even their typos are opened up to response.

Probably a scheduled tweet that accidentally wasn't pushed back for a scheduled update that intentionally was because of the pandemic.

@nessisonett Those games were more expensive when they launched in those markets too. Suggesting other systems get cheaper games is disingenuous.
