@0muros The thing that is funny to me is that the GoNintendo forum topic which @Frendo linked was obviously created a few days ago by someone who'd had enough of Sliggy over there, and less than a day later the mods were obviously in agreement, because his account was suspended. His shtick had gotten worse than it was while he was still here, adding, among other things, complaining out loud when he wasn't thanked by name for the things he sent in. He had some very harsh words for the people here at NintendoLife, which I'm sure will cause all of them to lose exactly no sleep whatsoever. I kinda want to know where he ends up. And I definitely feel sorry for wherever it is.

@subpopz I don't think they'll show any more of Smash, with one exception--a character reveal to close the Direct.

@Alantor28 I rarely report people. I don't care about the bad words, disguised or otherwise, and I'd rather persuade other people (persuading him isn't my intention, and would be impossible anyway) by letting them see what I'm objecting to and concluding that prejudice is the only explanation for the behavior. Overt racism is obvious and easily rejected. It's the subtle forms that need to be guarded against.

@Heavyarms55 It would be a waste of your time to recount the details, but I've read enough from third-party developers whose games I've played to believe that the majority want consoles to be as powerful as possible simply to save them the time and effort of having to optimize their games. The Switch can handle more PS4/X1 games than people realize, simply because those consoles aren't really being pushed in the first place. Yes, the Switch would have to be pushed, and whether it's worth the expense, in both studio time and publisher money, is a legitimate question. But that question isn't the source of the dismissiveness on display here.

@Phin68 Agreed. They're a fantastic way for me to indulge the collecting instincts that otaku have. Otherwise I'd be stuck buying nendoroids at (at least) four times the price. And all things considered Nintendo has my favorite roster of characters (hardly surprising for someone at a fan site), so they're who I'd prefer to collect anyway.

@Yorumi Not using your copyright isn't hoarding, and nobody is obligated to sell anything they don't wish to. Consumers are entitled to buy only what is offered, not anything whatsoever.

@MichaelHarvey If you can tell me, accurately, my age and educational background, then I will accept that perhaps you are offering constructive criticism. If you are ignorant of these details and still say it anyway, then I must conclude that it is a petty insult from a man trying to rationalize how his pettiness is somehow different and more acceptable than other people's.

And every company is beyond having their copyright infringed. There's nothing of criticism or feedback involved in the stealing of ROMs.

@BladedKnight Just as only the IP holder is entitled to profit off of the IP, only the IP holder is entitled to not profit off of the IP. And it's naive to think they weren't making money off of it. Do you really think they spent all those years spending their own money to keep everything running out of the goodness of their hearts and pure love of the franchise?

@smashbrolink I don't get why people are so obsessed with whether or not a game is a port. It doesn't matter, at all. I'd be willing to bet a number of indies that started on Wii U, at least in the Nintendo ecosystem, have sold better on Switch. Despite being all porty port portish.

I despise the free to play model. It exploits a small group of people, and allows everyone else to get a product without giving the developer a fair return on their efforts.

@LightBeam Nobody is granted the right to distribute Nintendo's IP if Nintendo chooses not to. Nintendo is under no obligation to distribute it. They are, however, under an obligation to protect their IP. All corporations that have shareholders are.
