Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Price Has Been Confirmed

Nightwalker

@JohnnyMind nothing to do with it being cheap or expensive. Everything to do with this being a semi-advanced manual of sorts that will cost you extra on top of a console that already has multiple ways of charging you for using its services - not considering the base price of the console itself.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

Nightwalker

  • Pay 80USD for a game.
  • Pay extra for Nintendo Online.
  • Pay extra if you want the expansion pack for NOnline as well.
  • Pay extra if you want a very specific SD card for additional storage.
  • Pay extra if you have a Switch 1 Base Game that's getting a measly Switch 2 upgrade that should absolutely be free for all owners of said game.

Yeah, that's a no from me. I'll stick to the Switch 1 for the considerable future. Not to mention I still have a huge backlog to go through.

Re: Review: Frogun Encore (Switch) - A Sure-Footed 3D Platforming Throwback

Not sure about listing Sly 2: Band of Thieves as a sequel to a classic 3D "platformer". At the same time, though, I do not have a strong argument against it.

Some are gonna say it's an action-adventure game with a focus on stealth. But you also cannot ignore the gameplay elements that are typical for platformers that came around the same time.

Re: Every Dragon Quest Game Ranked

I'm such a huge fan of the series and I am now playing DQVII, after which the only other game that I will need to finish is DQIX, but man... I never understood the universal praise that the series' music gets.

Do the DQ games have nice music? Sure, and it's orchestral in the later sequels, too. But every single DQ game I have played also suffers from repetitive music and 5-6 themes tops that go on and on and on without ever making room for new, "fresh" tracks. Even DQXI suffers from this same issue!

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

@DennisNOR "but then you are the problem, not Nintendo" is the type of argumentation that lets Nintendo basically get away with everything nowadays, not to mention the fact they still have a relatively strong "army" of fans who fail to realize that Nintendo is slowly but surely raising more and more eyebrows with its recent "evil corporation" approach.

Not to mention you are paying for membership that lets you play games older than 2 decades, games you can nowadays play for free on many of their older systems.

But sure, keep justifying Nintendo dude. Nobody can take that away from you.

Re: Review: Shantae And The Seven Sirens - Back To Basics Brilliance Leads To A Must-Have Metroidvania

Nightwalker

Just finished it. A solid 7, 7.5 tops. Nowhere near 9, though.

Mostly forgettable dungeons, very few catchy tunes and ridiculous dance power-ups (compared to the previous two entries that are nothing short of stellar). Not to mention the bosses are ridiculously easy. The animation is really smooth, though, and the art style is amazing. The humor is also spot on most of the time.

Would say the only entry that I personally find worse is Risky's Revenge.

Re: FIFA 21 Costs £45 On Switch, Despite Being Another 'Legacy' Reskin

Nightwalker

Meanwhile, Nintendo porting most popular Wii U games that are 3+ years old to the Switch, charging 49.99+GBP, and receiving universal acclaim.

This aside, EA keeps giving its FIFA series the trash treatment you'd kinda expect. They do not seem to learn, but it also seems like fans keep giving money for these reskins. A vicious circle.

Re: Review: A Knight's Quest - A Pale Imitation Of Zelda, But At Least It Has A Sense Of Humour

Nightwalker

45 minutes in, no bugs so far and no slowdowns. The sword combat is very average though, and hits do not give this satisfactory feeling that other, more polished games would. It's like the sword simply goes through invisible enemies. The humor, meanwhile, is very funny.

Can't shake off the feeling this game will flop terribly in terms of sales. A shame, really, as I accidentally discovered that I had its homepage - the one that doesn't exist any longer - bookmarked 2 years ago when apparently I had somehow come across this title.

I realized that I first became interested then and I did preorder it 2 days ago, once I watched all the trailers and a gameplay video on YouTube.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th May (Europe)

Nightwalker

60€? Even if I had a Wii U, I would never spend that much money on a game, no matter if it's the latest Mario, Zelda or another famous series... Terrible move, Nintendo, shame on you!

Anyway, I am tempted to finally get Street Fighter IV, a great game at a cheap price, given that there are still people fighting online... Can anyone confirm that the SSF IV online matcher are alive and kicking?
