Mario 3 DS Theme

The New 3DS launches in Japan next month, and along with it we'll be seeing a firmware update which will allow all 3DS consoles to implement custom themes.

Nintendo of Japan has posted a selection of themes online, along with prices which range from 100 yen ($0.90 / £0.55) to 200 yen ($1.80 / £1.20). Some of the themes will be available for free.

Interestingly, Capcom is releasing some Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate-related themes, so Nintendo is clearly opening this up to third party publishers, who will be able to make some additional cash by giving 3DS owners the chance to spruce up their systems. Azure Striker Gunvolt themes will also be available.
