@manu0 it's up on Nin Nin games website but I wouldn't trust them with a bucket of water if I was on fire! I've luckily managed to secure the complete box from a contact in Japan.
Got my copy early yesterday. Good overall but definitely needs a decent controller or arcade stick. Somewhat disappointed to find it's the USA version of ssf2turbo with its cheap input reading AI. Would have much preferred the Japanese version.
I'd really like to see Capcom reissue the arcade collections orignally released on ps1, ps2 and psp. I also think Sega are missing a trick too with their back catalogue of arcade goodness.
@GrailUK hope so. I'm not overly worried I'm assuming at the very least we'll get it on eshop, I'd ideally love the collectors edition though. Probably due to regional licensing issues.
Disappointed that the physical edition is only available in the US. Tried to order from the Nis America site and wouldn't allow shipping to the UK despite it NOT being listed as a pal country they don't ship to.
Was looking forward to this but sadly what with it not even including the full roster of moves I'll pass. If you're reading this and other comments FTE you'll see you really need to up your game as it's seems I'm not the only potential customer you've lost.
Hamster of Japan have just announced that they're delaying the release of Double Dragon until beginning of next year. Slightly p***ed off as I've been waiting for it to drop all day.
Dream come true. I was obsessed with this game as a youngster. The prospect of portable 2 player has me salivating.... This could also push a friend, whom hasn't owned a console since the megadrive, into buying a switch. I'm perhaps more excited for this than anything else this Xmas time. Fingers crossed this is the start of hamster porting across the arcade archives that appeared on the ps4, Double Dragon 2 included.
@joey302 having not read the headline properly I initially thought this article was for the hamsters arcade archives coming to switch, imagine my disappointment. Like you say maybe one day they'll stop their obsession with porting neo geo games, after all how many versions of king of fighters do we actually need?!
God dammit missed it again! If any lucky sod who has managed to preorder a copy would like to straight swap for a my snes mini I have on preorder give me a shout.
Gutted that I missed out on this preorder, but if anyone would be willing to do straight swap of their legacy edition for my preordered snes mini then please let me know.
@toffeecrit beat me to it. I just discovered they were available at Argos myself. I was lucky, but, like you said it way well depend upon your postcode. Good luck people.
@6581punk that still doesn't explain why certain people who pre ordered early on weren't even allocated a console whilst others who clearly ordered at later date were sent one. There's more to this issue than just the couriers incapacity to deal with a sudden surge on demand.
I find the whole situation really bizarre and seems to highlight that non of said retailers have a an ordering system that works; there looks to be no correlation between when a preorder was placed and when someone would receive it. For example I read that someone had only placed their order the day before release with Nintendo and received it on launch day whereas others who ordered months prior have been left high and dry. I think all of these retailers need to get back to basics and reexamine their stock and order systems.
What a coincidence...seeing as I took delivery of a near mint boxed super famicom yesterday that would be a no. Otherwise I surely would but it would have to be a Japanese model, those USA machines are so fugly!
@JaxonH it was too late when I discovered the differences, like you said they were all sold out. I checked on eBay and the prices were ridiculous, especially with shipping on top. I love the case but not that much!
@Loui no worries, I'm going have to cancel my original official case order but first I have to decide whether to get the plain version or the Zelda edition. I'd love that little suit case too but I don't think my funds will extend that far, March is going to be a costly month!
@JaxonH that is indeed an awesome case and I'm really disappointed that Nintendo didn't include it in the limited edition of Botw here in the U.K., I'd love to know why tbh as I'd have been all over it.
Just checked out Shopto and they have a series of new official cases I haven't seen before including a grey Zelda themed one and a nice compact suitcase that holds the entire switch console including the cables and dock.
@OorWullie that's great news about the arcade archives. They've already released a ton of great retro arcade games on the ps4 such as double dragon 1/2 and some of the SNK games. I'm really looking forward to this now. A Hori arcade stick is now a must.
I understand how this could be considered a slightly lazy move by capcom but I'm such a shameless street fighter nut, owning multiples of the same versions on many different systems, that I'll definitely be picking this up. It almost feels like street fighter 2 is coming home after 25 years after its original release on the super famicom. I still remember actually getting my hands on an imported copy a day before the Japanese release way back in 1992, halcyon days although it did interfere with my college work!
Preorder Botw special edition although I'm not entirely happy the that the UK version doesn't include the case like the US version. Poor show Nintendo.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE $150 is pretty standard for an arcade stick. I've 2 madcatz ones for my ps4 which cost around £200 each. Hopefully we'll see some old school arcade games released on the Nintendo store to further justify its purchase.
I went through the same dilemma when wanting an improved screen for my gameboy and advanced gameboy games. After being completely put off by the extortionate second hand prices of gb advances with an ags 101 screen I plumped for a DS lite which probably has an even better screen and are much cheaper second hand.
@kickerofelves thanks for the reply comment, in hindsight I feel I was probably unduly harsh in my first comment. Emotions overtook I was initially disappointed because I thought perhaps it was a rerelease on the eshop.
I haven't seen the offers selling copies, I will take a look. Yes I agree it does seem to have escalated somewhat, in my defence I only responded again as I felt the comment I received yesterday was somewhat of a personal slight. Discussion and disagreement I can accept personal insults I won't.
I'd make a rubbish capitalist. I could sell mine for at least 3 times the price but firstly I'm enjoying it too much and secondly I think it's morally abhorrent. Back when the wii was released with similar shortage problems I ended up with 2 due to an error but rather than selling the other for an obscene profit I sold it to a friend at cost price.
@knightRider666. No need to get personal. It would seem you lhave made assumptions about me from my post. I've no problem with reviewing a game if it's relevant, if for example it was being rereleased on the Nintendo estore, but it wasn't. Plus it neglected to mention just how rare and expensive it was, casually suggesting it would be a "cool" addition to a collection. Plus, just for your information I do collect for certain retro systems and have paid £150 upwards for games, but no way would I ever stump up £450 for a gba game. Seriously?! Are you really trying to compare $75 dollars a couple of years ago to £450 now? That's pretty laughable.
@Damo Nope he's not. There are 2 copies currently listed on eBay, one at £290 and the other at £478! Indeed this is an ill conceived review of a game that is fundamentally unobtainable to any with more sense than money. Must be a slack day for news items at Nintendo life for this review to be given the green light.

Re: Nintendo Warns Of An Increasing Number Of Credit Card Fraud Reports, Offers Advice
@aznable it would be only that's not safe either. There's been a recent spate of hacking paypal accounts through Nintendo accounts to buy V bucks for Fornite. I've now unlinked my paypal account.

Re: The Original Double Dragon Brings Street Justice To The Switch Next Week
@Gerbwmu hopefully judging by the port on the ps4 this should be absolutely spot on, even down to the originals slowdown.
Re: The Original Double Dragon Brings Street Justice To The Switch Next Week
@Lroy agreed, great game. Pity it's quite rare and is therefore now rather expensive.
