@Tasuki So what? Tell that to Final Fantasy VII-XII, Devil May Cry 1-3, Resident Evil 5-6, Persona 3-5, and a whole bunch of others. Oh, and the upcoming Yakuza Kiwami and Suikoden remasters. Ports happen and they bring games to more people.

@PKDuckman True! I just went to PS4/5 because they're still supported systems as opposed to the PSP/Vita unfortunately.

@Tasuki Why shouldn't people want SOTN on Switch? It's probably the highest rated and a lot of people's favorite, and it would be nice to play it in handheld mode.

This is like saying "People need to chill about Galaxy 2, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess coming to Switch. There are so many other great Mario and Zelda games that it really doesn't matter if the Switch ever gets Galaxy 2/WW/TP."

If you have a PS4/5 I highly recommend Requiem. It bundles Symphony of the Night with Rondo of Blood, arguably two of the best games in the series, and it's relatively cheap and it goes on sale often from what I remember.

@Fizza Given how big of a Capcom fan you are (same here) I think you'd enjoy the Mega Man series, or at least the X subseries. Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the FFs?

@AlanaHagues The turn order aspect sounds a lot like FFX's CTB. Would you say that's accurate? I've always thought that was a cool approach to turns that I wished I saw more of.

@Fizza Overall I say FFX is probably the best to start with. It's got a great story and gameplay in my opinion, and it's less rough to get into because it has "modern" stuff like voice acting, cutscenes with actual camera work, etc. You can get it on Switch bundled with FFX-2 or any other modern platform.

Of the ones in this pixel remaster? Hard to say. May as well start with the first game and see if you enjoy it, but the most well regarded are IV and VI.

@Fizza I haven't played them myself but I've heard great things. They're basically the games as originally released with nicer graphics, sound, localizations, etc. If you can handle older style games, I'd say they're great games and worth getting into.

My personal gripes with them are the price and that they don't contain any additional content from the rereleases over the years. By most accounts the content isn't great but my perspective is why not include it anyway?

As for whether they're a good place to start with the series, I would recommend FFX or FFVII instead. They're less "simple" compared to the older games and they're very well regarded.

@Ralizah I think it might have something to do with licensing and/or Aksys. ZTD was pulled from PSN and I think Xbox a few months ago. Still, I agree that the series would be right at home on the Switch and it would run without issues. Here's hoping whatever the problem is is fixed.

At first glance of this article I thought the ZE series was announced for Switch. Such incredible titles, and I even tolerated ZTD's shortcomings.

I like this article though, it's an interesting take.
